the difference between me and you is that i'm not delusional. i know the avs are bad. every team goes through a period like this, it's to be expected. can't say i'm happy but i'm realistic. this is the thing i hate most about rangers fans, they all think they know shit but they don't. that and the fact they act like 1994 was yesterday but it has been 15 years. in that time my team has won 2 stanley cups and overall been a consistent club which isn't something i can say about the rangers. to take it further new jersey has won 3 cups and made it to four stanley cup finals. rangers aren't the big dogs in the atlantic division.

as for knowing hockey you don't know me so think whatever doesn't bother me. i was just pointing out that you can't talk stanley cup with a trade like that. i remember years ago when the avs got kariya and selanne which at that time was a bigger deal than this by a LOT. i remember thinking we are just going to cruise through the season and dominate but that didn't happen. things have to click and right now there is something going on in that locker room that needs to change and adding two guys might not be the solution. lundqvist is a great goalie but they have to score goals, no denying they were the hottest team in the league during the first month or two of the season but since then things have gone downhill particularly lately.

we can discuss the rangers and stanley cup in the same sentence once they deserve mentioning.

Oh and I just want to add that Prucha and Dawes both suck and had it not been for Jagr, Prucha would probably not be in the NHL. He got the reputation as a "scorer" when he was nothing more than a receiver of scoring chance after scoring chance from what shouldve been the MVP. Anyway, let's look at the last trade between the coyotes and the rangers. I believe it was Hossa for Sjostrom. LOLOLOLLhHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

HOW DID THAT WORK OUT IDIOT?

Posted by Quethas on Mar-05-2009 14:57:

As a finn, I think that it's about time that Olli Jokinen makes it to the playoffs. Though it means he won't be in world championships I think he has done more than enough to deserve at least some playoff-games. Now Calgary has two finnish starplayers and I am interested if Jokinen plays with Iginla.

And Guerin-trade is funny. Islanders must draft d*mn good player with that draft pick

i'm confused are you calling me an idiot? if you think having a differing opinion than you makes someone an idiot then you are an immature fuck.

today was the first time they all played with each other and the won 4-2 on the island. it's like being proud about beating up a small child...nothing go write about. there is nothing i would prefer more than to see the team in the #1 media market do well it brings more focus to the sport nationally. well, when the rangers have a number of wins against legitimate teams you can talk playoffs but until then it's you running your mouth about a whole lot of nothing. sunday is bruins - rangers but looks like the bruins are in a bit of a slump either way we'll see what the rangers have to offer in the last quarter of the season. be cocky about your team when they do somethng on the ice that matters.

Sharks just got some tough guys from the ducks. Moen should be a good fill on the injured sharks. Pens getting Kunitz from the ducks is pretty solid. McLaren going to Philly from the sharks...hope he sees some ice time.

LOL Rangers in the playoff picture and can now score. Avs out of the playoffs for a while and unless the flyers decide to trade half their team, the flamers from colorado will stay there. Also the trade with Phoenix for Sjostrom was one sided and a terrible trade for the Coyotes. Sjostrom is one of the best penalty killers in the game and Hossa is a scrub in Russia. The trade for Morris will most likely turn out the same way considering Prucha has always been overrated and Dawes sucks. If you want to talk about ideas how about not talking in an NHL thread when your favorite team would most likely get beat by division 3 club teams.

McLaren blows ass in the NEW NHL as many of the old clutch and grabbers do which is why they are long gone.

And he couldn't have gotten a better start, 2+0. So glad he gets to shake that playoff-monkey of his back. The Freak stated a few pages ago that he's a cancer, and I had a hard time believing Jay, but after hearing Barnaby's comments and all, I have to believe it myself.

But most Finns (most HIFK lol) know that no matter what, he's still championship material, and has prooven it several times.

i get it you are a passionate fan. telling me not to post in a thread because my favorite team is bad right now is ridiculous. maybe you are in a rangers bubble but i'm not, during this time of year anyone who calls themselves a hockey fan should eagerly anticipate the playoffs.

also, why do you keep talking about the avs? it has already been acknowledged they aren't good right now, that's a fact so end of story. you are a bit extra over this whole thing just think facts. this started because you started talking stanley cup with no facts to back that up. at this point there has been one game since the end of the deadline and sufficient amount of time has not passed before you can start being an annoying fan. if anyone can go around talking cup its LEN but he doesn't because we all know anything can happen. now stop being a child and arguing with a woman thanks.

Briere is out again. They just let a few players go to clear some cap space for him. Not looking good for PHI who have $53.5m dedicated to 18 players next year and it doesn't include any goaltenders.

I know better than to talk like that...especially about the sharks Gotta stay humble.

Anyone that follows hockey, knows that we are not watching the same teams that will show up for post season.

All I can do is hope the best. The rest is up to him.

yeah len can talk about the stanley cup because the sharks always come to play in the playoffs hahahahahah. nothing greater than watching marleau jump OUT OF THE WAY of shot LOL

anyway mclaren failed his physical. also chimerabitch should check the score of the islanders devils game because for such a shitty team they are destroying AN ACTUAL THREAT to win the stanley cup.

Yes the sharks really fail at the playoffs for the last 7 years. Whats it been...1994 since the rangers won a cup? Isn't that when the sharks were only 2 years old? Its a young team but at least they have always been a threat and if they get stopped this year...well, I dont know ...it seems like the best hope for a cup for my team. At least the front office thinks so, with all the vets they have. The potential is there but lately they look shit. Rangers haven't had such a gleaming past, I dont know why you think puffing your chest out about the rangers of all teams is going to work in your favor. You picked up Avery...you dont have much to stand on this season...rangers will not make the big show. Sharks might not either...the way they have been playing. You sound like a stereotypical new yorker that thinks NY has all the best teams. That cocky attitude that created that stereotype makes me really enjoy when NY teams lose.

The Sharks have been the most beast this season that I've ever seen them (<3 Marleau, Boyle and Clowe in my hockey pool). But come playoffs, there are going to be 3 BEASTLY playoff-style teams to contend with in the form of Vancouver, Calgary and Detroit. It's been a long time since I've seen so many teams, each with 2 legitimate top lines, each with two legitimate top-2 defense, and 3 outa the 4 have outstanding goaltenders... Nevermind the other teams that fill out the final 4 spots. Shit, that western conference is looking to be an amazing set of playoff games.

Then I look at the East... lol Rangers win the cup? They'll be lucky to make it out of the 1st round. They have an outstanding goaltender, and then what? Do they even have a top line? Antropov went from being the top forward on a shitty team with a shitty goaltender, now he's the top forward on a shitty team with a good goaltender... Wow! Things are lookin up for them lol. I hope you're right and they go on a tear though, Lundqvist is my goalie in my hockey pool! In the east the top contenders are clearly Boston and New Jersey, it's a shame the Caps don't have a goalie, but the 2 guaranteed goals every game from Ovechkin and Semin will definitely go a long way in the playoffs.

My playoff final has Bruins vs Sharks (I wouldn't be surprised to see Vancouver make it though, Luongo is probably the best goalie in the league, and Sundin is CLUTCH, and clutch is key ). Tim Thomas is playing in another world this year, if he gets hot in the playoffs, it'll game over.

LOL you probably haven't even been a fan of the sharks since they started like most lame fuck places in the us. probably jumped on the bandwagon like the rest and suddenly you think you know hockey. the fact is that the sharks were supposed to do shit last year and they didn't and this year will be the same story. their team is full of pussies who can't cut it come playoff time. and i don't sound like a typical new yorker, i sound like a guy who has actually watched and played the game for years and not some idiot who suddenly became a fan when the team started to win some games.

rangers are a shitty team? one of the best defensive teams in the league and now they can score so they will be near the top. unfortunately you probably haven't watched much hockey as your prediction for the stanley cup is idiotic both in terms of hockey and odds. as you can see today the rangers just beat the bruins and have only lost to them one time this season 1-0. try watching the game and then making a prediction instead of looking at the standings for two seconds and acting like you know what you are taling about.

Wrong...thanks though. I was at their first game before San Jose even had the arena built. No bandwagon here. I didnt say "typical" I said stereotypical. Just because you're an ass doesnt mean they all are.
