Maybe we can check out a sober set fom him at the Beatport tent, then a mangled tweaked out set from on him on the boat?!
Get the best of both worlds lol!

| Originally posted by The Highroller It's a great line-up, but I don't think I will go. The boat was just way too empty last year, and it doesn't seem it will be any more full this year (Paxahau said capacity will be capped at relatively the same amount of people as last year). Also, the line-up last year was arguably "better" (even though they didn't have Ricardo), and it was still a bit of a letdown. I would totally go to this party if there weren't a billion other things going on this weekend, but considering how many times I've seen Ricardo, Sneak, Carter and Pullen, it's not really worth the extra time, money and effort. |

Interesting line-up, quite different from last year I'd say but in a GOOD way!!
They need to really increase capacity this year before I even consider going aboard...the Detroit Princess has a capacity of 1500 - yet I severely doubt they had over 850 patrons in 2009. Everyone pooled for luciano/loco, leaving the other floors empty...you need that extra 300-400 people to add up and create a real DEMF vibe on everyfloor
Anyways I'll leave this one up in the air for now until finalized ticket info is released!

Villaloboat lol
Super early birds are only $30, wow. Pretty damn cheap! Those probably won't last through the day though.
Each day I wake up feeling more and more excited
although slightly overwhelmed as well. Looking forward to the schedule being released so that I can start to piece together my days.
23 days!! <3

I have to say I think anyone who is choosing to miss the boat party is going to end up regretting it.
The line up is amazing and is a hell of a lot better than last years party (first floor is basically the same), Carter and Sneak is a huge improvement over Ame, Dixon, Schwartz (although I was most looking forward to this floor) and although Luciano and Loco are great I will take Villalobos over them any day...throw in Cassy and you have a winner.
I've seen Villalobos quite a few times (probably the best set I've ever heard was a 2 hour solo set at Berghain)however, he is usually at his best when he is having fun, and when he is playing with somebody else (Hawtin @ Circo Loco, Zip at Mutek) as he can get lost sometimes when he is by himself. I think a 3 hours solo set at the Beatport stage followed by a b2b set with Cassy (they will be playing together since from what I remember from the boat last year there isn't really anywhere else for the DJ's to go.
Although I didn't really enjoy the boat last year I have to admit that the organization was great and I think with the improved line up it was create a much better vibe. I also think I will prefer to head into this party knowing what to expect rather than heading to another after party where they have 600 people in a space that only holds 400.
I have now officially bought tickets to the festival and this party just in case I decide to go.
Boat Tickets. Check.
here's my after party line-up...
Fri, May 28: The Crystal Method @ Vain (Detroit, MI)
Sat, May 29: Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Ida Engberg @ Vain (Detroit, MI)
Sun, May 30: I'm on a Boat 2 w/ Ricardo Villalobos @ Detroit Princess
then off to OLD MIAMI!!!

wow, that boat is ginormous...
so everybody keeps talking about the shortage of people and the capped capacity last year. Was this partly because ticket holders didn't show? were they selling tix at the dock? Just thinkin that maybe with the festival beforehand, a lot of people crapped out. I can't imagine a promotor not trying to fill that thing to it's capacity, which according to the website is 1500.... now that would be a party!
In any case, got my tix and I'll be on board!
Lookin like a solid trip -
Friday: Spectral
Saturday: Drumcode
Sunday: Boaty Boat
Monday: Old Miami
