It seems to be popular in eastern europe. Was popular in Sweden (where I'm from), like 20 years ago. I think it's just because it's cheap as f*ck.

Why the aggression?!

Just reminds me of my granny's house back in the 70s.

He's a bear. One that wears armor and fights in combat.

I bet they sometimes make him parachute in, too.

Got a friend of the family to build me a rig for my set up. Just 2 technics and a xone 92.

So far it looks like so:

Said he'll be back down tomorrow to finish it off, still got to work out how i'm going to incorporate my sampler in there. Speakers are going to be place on stands at either corner,, well happy with what he's done so far..

That's brilliant chesco. How much $ is the whole thing going to set you back?

I think it was just over £300, not too sure tho, my mum got me it as a birthday/graduation present which was awful nice of her..

The table I was using before for about 2 months was starting to give me some real problems with my lower back tho so it was required.

I'm going to be looking into some cdj stands as well when I've got the money as I get a loan of my brothers 1000's now and again if he's away with work or whatever..

A wee update. the other side is now on - had a few issues fitting the mixer in but he's just routed out a bit at the back of it so the wires now fit altho they are slightly tight..

He's back tomorrow to drill all the holes for all the wires, fit the speaker stands and touch it up a little with a bit of laquer.

pleased how it's looking so far..

Current setup while I still have CDJ200s (they will be sold soon).

Why did you switch from the 200s to 800s? I have the 200s so I'm just curious.

i owned a 200 for one year, then i switch to 2x800 a year ago.
go to your local shop, try them, you will never come back, the jog make correction a lot easier.

now im playing on 1000s in club, and i really want to update my home booth with them for the 0,02% pitch.

I worked for a venue and a company and the mackies imo are the shit! Everything from the 10" tops to the double 18"subs. Easy to work with and the sounds are unbelievable. Sweet to see a set in a bedroom typ setup.

I love them, they sound amazing for there size, they have a hiss sound when there is no music coming threw, thats about the only downfall, but they sure can pound, I have not taken them to there maximum volume yet, but have gotten close, and the sound quality does not drop on them, since these run directly from the mixer, I can only feed so much bass into them, and so the low ends are not huge unless you have a really bass heavy track, or you have a pre amp between them and the mixer to increase the bass, but when you do get a bass heavy track, these speakers shine considering they are only 12" speakers.

I have thought about getting a 18" sub for them, but I'm in no rush due to what these can deliver.

On a side note though about the bass, come to think of it I think this is mainly due to the quality of the music I am feeding into them, most the time, I have these hooked up to my iMac playing either a shitty quality feed or a low quality mix, add to that, the long shitty cable for hooking the iMac up to the mixer, and the shitty soundcards you get with built in soundcards, this is probably why, as when I play my beatport tracks (320k) threw Serato, there is PLENTY of bass and dynamics.

One last thing, I have heard one problem with these Mackies are the heat they generate, and that they like to shutoff when too hot, I have had them cranked alot and only experienced this once, with just one of the speakers, this was due to it being on the floor with the amp/heatsink up against a wall with a heater not far away, it didn't take long to kick back in, but would be annoying if it was a frequent problem, but then again I had them BLASTING away for awhile, just ask JDigitals roommates .
