My Set Up

Yes thats right I use the Bose speakers mix dial as my mixer. Luckily the handytrax lets me actual play what vinyl I have so I'm on my way to an awesome set up =)

Man that furniture is the exact same shit we had in my dorm... I guess it is probably pretty common tho.

Posted by Vero on Jan-16-2004 18:40:

yeah looks alot like the desk i had in my dorm. lol. i really like those slipmats. where'd you find em?

Posted by _-MIl0 on Jan-16-2004 19:33:

yea i guess, but oh well im too poor to get tecs right away, but i allready know how to use em i guess its better to get used to all tipes of tabels, hey and it can only make me better......i hope

Here is my setup, as for today (got my first mk2) yesterday I'll get the second one in a few weeks. Can't wait! Still don't have any proper slipmats or needles though. Ordered a pair of Vandit slips just a few hours ago, and a pair of Shure White Labels yesterday along with four records:

Marco V vs. Jens - Loops & Things (relooped)
Motorcycle - ATRC
PvD - Nothing byt you
Tim Deluxe - Less talk, more action

I know they aren't the most up to date records, but they'll do fine as for educational purposes, even though they are all very different tunes. :|

Here's my setup:
2x Pioneer CDJ-500s
1x Technics SL1210Mk2 (Make that 2x in a week or two - they were out of stock )
1x Numark DM3002X (I hate this mixer)
1x Sony 700's

This is my older setup. It has now been upgraded with a CDJ100

It's the sister of Snap, Crackle and Pop of the Kellogs family.

Bummer. My DM-3000X is holding up great except the xfader leaks sometimes if you push it hard against one side. That is no big deal because I use the faders but when those start to leak I will be screwed... into buying a PCV-275

I reckon you should stop using the xfader and just use the channel volume. Mucho control.

at least thats ah what I think.

That is what I mean when I say I use the faders not the xfader. I guess I could be more explicit and say I use the UP faders. I do turn on the crossfader from time to time and use it when I try and improve me pathetic scratching skills.

that sucks, mine works just great, and its a bit over a year old.

heres a pic of my setup as it is now

Posted by DJ FireWire on Jan-25-2004 07:17:

Hey guys, my first post here. Anywho, this is my OLD setup... my new setup doesn't have Technics anymore and instead I have 2x Pioneer CDJ-1000MKII's. I'll post a new pic when I get it. I hope to have vinyl turntables pretty soon again.

Posted by ludeboy12 on Jan-27-2004 00:53:

ok heres my lil setup to keep this thread going.....

Posted by DJ FireWire on Jan-27-2004 01:33:

LOL, 'little'? You must be kidding me. That's pimp dude. Which mixer is that? The DJX-700? And how is that Denon CD player coming? Does the plater on it spin with the CD? Cause I don't like how in my new CDJ-1000MKII's, the plater doesn't spin with the CD.

Posted by vhx1 on Jan-27-2004 01:35:

Wow there ludeboy AWESOME setup you got there.
HEre's mine

2 Technics SL1200MK2
1 Behringer DJX700
1 Stanton Final Scratch
2 Horribly crappy Stanton 500-ALII
1 Sennheiser HD280 Pros

Posted by ludeboy12 on Jan-27-2004 01:50:

yea its the djx700.....

the platter on the denon spins with the cd....this works good for me when i beatmatch as i have the tendency to push the platter just as i do on my TTs (i know its a bad habbit but oh well)....

i've been actually thinking real hard about redoing my whole setup....id like to have more of what hte clubs have...

i was thinking:

2 technic m5gs
2 pioneer cdj800s/1000mks (havent decided which i like better)
2 sure whitelable cartriges
1 pioneer djm600 or 1 denon dn-x1500
final scratch

thats like my dream system and most likely i'll be moving in that direction....time and money are the only issues in my way right now....

Posted by DJ FireWire on Jan-27-2004 02:07:

K, what I DON'T like about the Pioneer CDJ's (800 & 1000MKII), is that their platers don't spin. That really pisses me off, I paid $2500 for both of mine and got disappointed like that.
