Carbo sacked, thoughts?
just looked at the standings...wow i knew the race for the top eight was tight but looking at the two conferences any little mistake could have you booted out of the playoffs. going to get down to the last game on the last day of the regular season. exciting
.
also didn't realize san jose and detroit were that close with regards to points to boston...guess they aren't guaranteed the presidents cup.

'My' team just kidnapped the kid who's #2 on that list from one of our rival teams
Ranked as the second most promising youngster of all -92 born juniors, and probably the only Finn to get a first round pick in 2010

Originally posted by xtr3m Firing coaches rarely works. It did work for Chicago, but then again they found a great replacement. Montreal, had they found their game, would actually be able to come close to their last year's stats. Now... I'm not so sure. Habs problem this season is this whole centennial thing. Pressured to perform (Cup finals or else) with an average team. In today's balanced NHL you cannot win the Cup based on pure heart and grit, which allegedly they lack anyway. In the mean time the western conference is chugging along.
Carbo said something that annoyed Gainey... after loosing to the Trashers (a horrendeous game), Carbo told Gainey " I don't know what to do anymore ... "
Gainey was ticked by that, "he's the head of the team and he should always have at least one solution"
For the record, Carbo has the best regular season record since Pat Burns.
Seems that at least Koivu wasn't all too bothered with the new coach
On the other hand, it's not often a team loses their first game under a new coach.

If they dont shape up, Van might just catch them.

Originally posted by Quethas I am totally surprised if Teemu Pulkkinen isn't drafted in the first round. After all he was supposed to be even bigger prospect than Granlund until WJC. You better make that guy a quality player. We don't have that big prospects too often...

I'm curious to know how the Leaf-fans feel about Toskala's surgery, sad about loosing their #1 goalie, or just happy Cujo gets to play..

Originally posted by DuBam So true. We haven't had anything promising since the class of '83 (M.Koivu, T.Ruutu etc.). Excluding our goalies, that is. Seems Rm is breaking through as we speak, not to mention Rinne. Lehtonen has finally succeeded in consecutive games too. Who's next? Easy, Antti Niemi!

Yep. Osala and Joensuu for an example are in my opinion 2nd line potential at best so no Koivu there. That is why I'm watching 91's and 92's with close eye and that is exactly why I hope Granlund isn't spoiled.
I wouldn't consider Lehtonen lost cause just yet. He has made some pretty impressive numbers for a rookie in AHL so there is still potential. Lindgren then again... well potential is there but does he have the will to use it is another thing.

Well Roy did beat Brodeur in 2001 in a head to head matchup known as the Stanley Cup finals. Devils fans tend to forget this fact when they talk about Brodeur being the "greatest" goalie of all time
