I wasn't aware that courts placed time-limits on a person's testimony. As far as I knew you had more than enough time to present your case, and the defense had as much time as they needed to cross-examine. Once you start running in circles, then sure, cut it off, but everyone should have enough time to present their case without being told they've run out of time.

AFAIK, he didn't have his speech cut off, he just didn't seem to understand the very basic concept that rebuttals are supposed to be short and not introduce new information. You get your own speech for that. If you're going to take part in a public debate then it's probably a good idea to make sure you understand the rules first.

you may not agree that what he did was honourable or noteworthy..BUT I DO....who the hell nominated you the thread police around here...??

you look at things in such a one dimensional way sometimes..i look at what happened at the debate as something much more profound....who the hell cares about time limits and debating rules..?

you may not agree with the things that people say on here but the worst thing about you is that you fundamentally have no respect for the rights of people to have their own views...you are the type of person that looks down on anyone that doesn't agree with your ideologies, theories, rhetoric..etc..

simply put..you are arrogant...

That all being said, the Turkish PM was taking part in a debate that had rules, pre-set, easy to understand rules. And when asked to abide by those rules, he took his ball and went home. That's not 'profound', that's childish.

I wasn't talking about the time so much (you're right), I was focusing more on this part:
