Drink up.

Nice afternoon for it, Aquila, though I suspect it might be a little warmer up your way

It is popular with military people. "

Yeah, the humidity hasn't really hit us down here yet. It's been warm (29-32) for the last week, but still manageable.

Not for long though!

29-32 fahrenheit or celsius?

Posted by aquila on Nov-19-2011 07:30:

Celsius

Posted by Alex on Nov-19-2011 07:32:

Oh well. No problem serving beer at room temperature then.

Given the weird perspective compression on the beerglass rim, I'd guess you're using some fancy schmancy canon lens. Maybe the 100-400mm?

You, sir, are quite correct. I was too lazy to change lenses

And it takes a nice shot, here and there

Posted by aquila on Nov-19-2011 08:14:

I haven't really delved into the realm of telephoto photography yet, although the 100-400 looks very tasty indeed. I'm more keen on wide-angle stuff for the moment.

Now back to the beer...Liquorland wanted $20 for a 6-pack of Heineken. I've decided to start calling them Laalaa Land now.

Haha, I started with mostly telephoto stuff. Birds, and all that My favourite lens is actually my 300mm prime - I've never used a lens so sharp before I only got into the wider stuff later on, but ended up selling my super-wide to afford the 5D, since it wouldn't have worked on it anyway (t'was an EF-S lens).

Back to the beer though, of course. $20 for a six pack of Heineken is highway robbery. It's normally $15 at my local. I got a carton for $35 today at a different shop, can't complain

Considering the price, it's a damn sight better than the watery shit that's brewed locally. So yes, really.

For me, Grolsch is the watery shit that's brewed locally

@Stu: love Erdinger! The restaurant I worked at had this. Finish work, have some Erdinger, profit.
