Maybe he's valued that kind of money, but I believe that no player in the whole world should be valued that much

well regardless. we still use Zidane money to this day at Juve... it's good business. big club money gets distributed to smaller ones. and those large fees pay for youth development and such.

Drogba criticises Shevchenko for selfishness

PARIS, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba says Chelsea partner Andriy Shevchenko needs to be less selfish if he wants to succeed at Stamford Bridge.

"I like to share. But when I give, I like to have something in return," Drogba told France Football magazine in an interview.

"That is what happened last year with Hernan Crespo. This season, let us say it is a bit different.

"On his (Shevchenko's) side I do not really sense the desire to collaborate," he added.

"We know we are not rivals as there is room for two up front, which was not the case in past years."

Drogba believes the Ukrainian, who cost Chelsea some 30 million pounds ($58.83 million) from AC Milan last May, is under too much pressure to understand he has to cooperate with his team mate.

"Maybe he thinks he must justify his transfer by scoring no matter what it takes. It is really hard to deal with for him," Drogba was quoted as saying.

"But I was also in that position when I arrived in Chelsea. At Chelsea more than anywhere else you have to think of the squad before thinking to yourself."

Shevchenko has scored three goals from 21 Premier League games and his lack of form has caused tension at the English champions.

British newspapers have been awash in recent weeks with reports of a standoff between billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, who is a personal friend of Shevchenko, and Mourinho who has been exasperated with the striker, suggesting he could make more effort.

Shevchenko scored twice last Tuesday, the second laid on by Drogba, in Chelsea's 4-0 League Cup semi-final second leg win against fourth division Wycombe Wanderers, his first goals in any competition for seven weeks.

bara are interested in Lampard because Deco wants to play in England. It's a dream for him and Deco are won all in Bara except Mundialito de Clubs and European Supercup.

I prefer Cech because Valds are a little bit bad to play in Bara.

I hear something about Chelski barely getting a draw at home against the Spurs today. Anyone wanna clarify?

I told my friend, I'm not going to waste my time getting up at 8AM to watch, because of a spurs team without Robinson and Keane... easy win for the blues...

and look what happened, I missed a good match...

CHELSEA V VALENCIA

Champions League quarter-final first leg: Chelsea v Valencia
Date: Wednesday, 4 April
Kick-off: 1945 BST
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Coverage: Updates on Five Live and on the BBC Sport website
Frank Lampard will continue in Chelsea's midfield for their Champions League quarter-final against Valencia despite playing with a fractured wrist.

Winger Arjen Robben needs knee surgery and will be absent but Joe Cole could be fit to return after his foot injury.

Valencia will travel to London without striker Fernando Morientes, who has a dislocated shoulder.

Carlos Marchena and David Navarro are also out of action as they are serving long-term suspensions.

Head-to-heads

Chelsea and Valencia have never met before in any European Cup competition.

Chelsea have played nine European home matches against clubs from Spain and have lost only once, winning seven and drawing one. The loss came on 22 February 2006 when the Blues were defeated 1-2 at Stamford Bridge by Barcelona in the round of the last 16. Overall, Chelsea have won nine of the 21 European encounters they have had with Spanish clubs.

Valencia have played 13 European away matches in England and have won only twice, drawn eight and lost three. Their last away victory on English soil took place on 30 October 2002 when they defeated Liverpool 0-1 at Anfield. Overall, Valencia have played English clubs 27 times in Europe, winning nine and losing only five.

European history

Chelsea's biggest success in European competition is winning the Cup Winners' Cup twice (1971 and 1998). They also won the European Super Cup in 1998. This is Chelsea's fifth CL participation. Their best result is reaching the semi-finals, which they managed on two occasions (2003-04 and 2004-05).

Valencia have won four European Cups: the Cup Winners' Cup once (1980) and the Fairs/Uefa Cup three times (1962, 1963 and 2004). They won the European Super Cup twice, in 1980 and 2004. This is Valencia's fifth Champions League season. They have twice been losing finalists. In 2000, they fell 3-0 to Real Madrid, while they lost on penalties against Bayern Munich in 2001.

Current European form

Chelsea have won their last four Champions League home matches. Overall, the Londoners are unbeaten in their last three encounters in the competition.

Valencia are winless in their last three CL matches, and have not won any of their last three on their Champions League travels.

Player and disciplinary info

Arjen Robben, Michael Essien, Joe Cole (Chelsea) and Miguel Angulo (Valencia) will all be suspended if booked. David Navarro and Carlos Marchena (Valencia) are both suspended for this match following the brawl after the return leg in the last 16 against Internazionale.

Valencia reserve goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle (03 Apr 1983) and striker Fernando Morientes (05 Apr 1976) celebrate their birthday the day before and the day following this match respectively.

we need to stuff these spaniards, i am under no illusions this is going to be fucking tough, especially the way we are playing.

If you win the CL whats gunna happen, seen as your owner and manager hate each other, will they see each other?
They're like a divorced couple.
