Don't eat your hat just yet... the Cards are still in it. What an unbelievable 9th inning homerun by Pujol. I wish i was in the Astrodome to hear that huge sucking sound of the air just dying after he hit the home run. Everyone was completely silent after that and in the background you can see everyone sit down, awestruck.

wow

No doubt about it that was an impressive homerun. Maybe the cardinals can find their bats and win the next 2 games.

It would have been silent the whole game in the Astrodome!

God, when Fat Elvis hit that homer I thought it was over. Lidge coming up, striking out two! One fuckin pitch away to strike out Eckstein. I was just thinking don't get to Pujols. Pujols is, if you think about it in his short young career, the greatest player to have played the game in comparison to all other players at this point in his career. He shows it here. 0-4, and then comes through. Hat's off to him.

Oswalt on Wednesday to seal the deal. Astros in 6.

We all saw the Red Sox comeback last year... I wouldn't be too surprised if the Cards were able to force a game 7... but then again i'm not holding my breath either.

I was rooting for Cards and Angels to advance just so i'd win this TA pool.. but I'd like to see teams that haven't been to the World Series in a long time make it. White Sox are already there. I'd like to see them battle the Astros. It'd make for a much more exciting WS, imo

Go 'Stros

Boy was I glad to see Lidge give up that homer. He has been far from the God that every media outlet is making him out to be this PostSeason. Last PS, sure. But this one, far from it. And I'm sick of hearing how great he's been this Post-Season and blah blah blah.

9.0 IP, 8 Hits, 6 BBs, 1 HR, 5 ERs.

i thought a couple pages back you were saying how over rated the sox were.

shows how much he deserves a mvp trophy this year .. he is da man!

game 6 .. let's see if mulder can get the job done .. carpenter almost blew it for his team .. very unusual for him to give up 3 runs in a critical game .

Posted by Eddie N MIAMI on Oct-18-2005 05:46:

Pujols is def. shaping up to be the best ever

if only he was more media friendly like some certain annoying red sox and yankees players .... he'd be getting alot more press (I better stop here dont wanna get into this discussion I did with shamez last year lol)

Posted by Acid Circus on Oct-18-2005 08:09:

Pujols is simply awesome.

I can't believe how tight these games are!

i guess he comes from the "speak softly and carry a big stick" philosophy. i think anyone that follows the game knows how much of an animal this guy is.

Posted by Protege on Oct-18-2005 14:44:

PUJOLS!!! What an awesome game, I think everyone was thinking, Oh if Pujols would just jack one out right now, and then he did! Oh man that was amazing. Suck on that one Lidge

Posted by Magnetonium on Oct-18-2005 14:48:

Pujols is DA MAN!!! I think he just solidified the MVP balloting with that game-winning home run. What a remarkable hitter. As soon as I saw the home run on replay I was jumping up and down, up and down, up and down ... cause Astros are a pain in my arse.

I'll update the pool standings after the Cardinals/Astros series ends. Cheers!

don't count the cards out that fast...
it's not over until there are 3 outs in the 9th

I think we got a start of a new rivalry here

They are overrated. I don't like their team at all. But at this point, I definitely don't think they are going to be as good next year. So... might as well root for them.

Whose that one guy that is the scariest hitter in the game? The one guy who when your team is facing him and you see him on-deck in a crucial situation you're like "Uh oh!"

I think obviously Poo-Holes but I'd say a tie between him and David Ortiz. Barry Bonds used to be that guy, especially that juiced up world series year. Scary!

What about pitcher? For me, it's Mariano Rivera. I know he's blown a few ones but overall.. it's like Game Over when you hear "Enter Sandman." Maybe Curt Schilling as a starter but not anymore...

uuuum Astros dont play at the Astrodome any more.

They been playing at Minute Maid Park for like 2+ years. It use to be know as Enron Field....yeah we all know what happened to Enron.

Kthnx....just wanted to let you n00bs kno
