Here are some of my observations:

1. seems like a lot of ppl were voting for their favorate DJ ... not who contributed the most this year ... exceptions most DJs in the top 10.

2. I thought this was going to be a Trance survey ... with that being said there are a lot of ppl who don't belong on that list.

3. I thought Tiesto would have been #1 since damn near everybody on this site worships him.

In my opinion Armin deserves to be #1 because in my opinion, he has contributed the most this year

I was impressed to see how many ppl voted

Sasha deserved, on of those few dj's who allways come up with different interesting music

And Markus, G&D & A&B above Holden & Zabiela??

hahaha Progressive trance hater, it's all good brother

So sad to see a trance pioneer so disrespected.

Krafty Kuts at 168? COME ON PEOPLE!

Posted by tribu on Oct-21-2005 15:47:

I don't believe abyone is shocked by these results, though I thought Zabs might be top 5

Posted by Floorfiller on Oct-21-2005 15:53:

i think the reason why the people that won did is mostly because for all of the other genres shown in this chart, trance is probably the genre which has the most people voting for their big name dj's like tiesto and armin bla bla because they don't know anything different. whereas all of those that favor the progressive dj's spread their votes over a larger amount of dj's. same with the techno people...

TIESTO! TIESTO! TIESTO!

Every DJ has to have their own sound - otherwise how in the HELL do you compare.....

The world is full of copy cat/cookie cutter copies but some of these artists have created masterpieces....

ARMIN VAN BUUREN - BLUE FEAR/COMMUNICATION, TOUCH ME, BURNED WITH DESIRE, Yet Another Day, Virgo, Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound of Goodbye, Ghost/Eighties MASH-UP........ UNIVERSAL RELIGION, ASOT, MEGAMIX 200

TIESTO - BREDA 8PM/DALLAS 4PM, URBAN TRAIN, TRAFFIK, IN MY MEMORY, FLIGHT 643, ADAGIO FOR STRINGS, Southern Sun remix....NYANA, ISOS 1,2,3

FERRY CORSTEN - OUT OF THE BLUE PUNK, RIGHT OF WAY, HOLDING ON, SUBLIME, Gouryella, Carte Blanche, Galaxia, Albion - Air 2000, Art Of Trance - Madagascar, Corderoy - Sweetest Dreams remixes.....GLOBAL TRANCEMISSIONS 1/2, LIVE AT SPUNDAE, CREAMFIELDS 2005

TRANCE MUSIC!

and our top five DJ's (TA picked!!) for various reasons/moments/abilitles have PWNED us ALL at various stages along their journeys into the annals of the Trance Genre Medium - what is a TOP DJ list but the celebration of these people that are DJ's and PRODUCERS/ARTISTS that bring the anthems to our speakers so that their versions of SONIC harmonies make us dance think and wonder while soothing our savage musical souls......

KUDOS TO THE WINNERS - WE HAVE ENJOYED ALL OF YOUR EFFORTS!!!!

BRING ON 2006!!!

Your post is discounted as you can't name a DECENT Tiesto tune he made 10 years ago.

Thats the biggest waste of 5 lines i've ever seen. So completely misguided its hard to imagine you'd be able to work out 5 DJs to vote for nm accurately summarise the results.

1. THIS IS A POPULARITY VOTE. We ARE voting for our favourites/people who impressed us over a 12-month cycle.

2. ??? The usual suspects were there.. but the trance B-list were a little higher than the DJ Mag version. Completely EXPECTED.

3. You really really really need to READ the forum. If there is any Tiesto fans left on this board.. they aren't posting in fear of being burnt alive.

Christ. No wonder Armin is no1 with members like these.

Posted by Cobalt on Oct-21-2005 18:36:

I cannot properly put to words how sad this is.

I cannot understand why people would willingly be so dense. The placement of Above & Beyond is 'above and beyond' insulting. Why would people be so deliberately stupid to place them in a poll like this, much less praise their work?

Another brilliant example of why direct democracy is an awful idea.

Posted by idoru on Oct-21-2005 18:38:

Who fucking cares?

Posted by Cobalt on Oct-21-2005 18:38:

I'm beginning to think that Swamper did this just to stir the pot.

Note the tenfold increase in bitter flame wars, both related and unrelated.

Oh, and this poll really isn't all that surprising, considering its proper name should be "Top EDM Celebrity Poll".
