US and Israel are the only ones who understand. the rest of the world are UN pussies. it's very 1984ish but war is peace. these radicals must be eradicated, and the arab countries need to see that Israel is NOT weak and will not stand for this bullshit. these terrorist pussies think they can do their little attacks and hide behind the UN and diplomacy but thats not going to happen. PEACE DOES NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE. it's just not in their dictionary.

I can sense fear in your words. This seems to be the end of Israel thanks to themselves.

a) israel is destroyed

It is slowly happening, just give it some time.

b) all the islamic fundamentalists are destroyed and the rest of the muslim population is made aware of the fact that Israel is NOT going anywhere

The muslim population hates Israel more then ever.I highly doubt they'll have a change of heart.

Pakistan got nukes too, if Israel uses nukes, Pak will drop nukes on Israel. Or atleast give it to Iran to drop it on them.

Israel will be gone if they are stupid enough to use nukes.

it's better to be feared by assasins than hated by them.

umm..nice argument? go read a history book, jews were always hated and never for a good reason. people were just brainwashed by christian and muslim radicals and this still continues today. europe is largely anti-semetic, and this is rising, probably due to the rising muslim population in europe.

Hopefully regional nuclear war will NEVER come to pass, and hopefully the region can pull itself into some sort of peace agreement. But this war is so deeply rooted I can't help but be pessimistic at the situation.

I wonder if you really believe Israel is the only country with nukes in that region. I mean, let's take the hypothetical scenario that Israel launches it's nukes to Iran because they cannot fight a conventional war with such a big enemy. Ok, they erase Iran from the map. What do you think the other arab countries are going to do? Just sit there and let them get away with it? Or attack with all their available resources completely erasing Israel from the map? Pakistan has nukes. India has nukes. Heck if i were China and Russia i would feel threaten of a small ass country touting their nukes around like that. I can tell you this much, if Israel launches their nukes, they sign an agreement to be wiped out of this earth. And i can tell you this much, even one nuke that they launch would create a situation in which they won't survive. Now thats from a strategic point of view, let me give you another angle now. Im asuming that the Israelis have half a brain and know that nukes leave radioactive waste and that that waste goes into the atmosphere. Consider how many nukes it would take to eliminate Iran or Saudi Arabia, at least a couple of dozen. Now, how much radioactive waste would that leave in the environment? And for that matter, Israel is not very far away from Saudi Arabia or Iran, so that radioactive waste is bound to get to their country eventually. Now you tell me who in their right mind, with such grim outlooks, would do such a thing as launch those nukes? I mean, im assuming they have half a brain, but maybe i should just be bunching them up with the Hezbollah nuts.

EDIT: If anyone need a little help comparing sizes, check my post here

They won't attack with nukes, even if a regional war will start they won't use it. It's more of a deterring device, and won't be use ever (UNLESS it's going to be a very extreme situation...last resort thing).

I agree, im just trying to illustrate why its an extreme situation artifact.

I dont think it is terrorism when a country is defending itself by any means necessery. But every time Israel or the U.S get attacked it automatically becomes an act of terrorism.

what's the country you're talking about then? Hizballaland?
when will you realize that they've abducted and killed soldiers, and started to fire missiles to northern Israel just like that, out of the blue? what that had to do with defence?

Good thing israel is worried about lebanese civilians!

Meanwhile, Israel is rejecting a request by the United Nations for a three-day ceasefire in Lebanon to deliver humanitarian supplies and to allow civilians to leave the war zone.

They say the 'opened up safety corridors', but seriously, is it that hard to allow for a stupid 72 hours ceasefre. At least they got some positive PR out of it.

what's wiser: To suffer the slaughter of our best fighters to prevent the slaughter of civilians in rural south Lebanon and be the most moral army in the world, or to erase villages used as Hizbullah terror motels, save the blood of our sons and be considered less moral?

We, and I think I can somehow speak for all Israeli people, don't think we are better, nor worth more that any other people, be it Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Atheist or any other people. WE DO appreciate the lives of our people, and we want to take care of our brothers, and keep them safe.

We don't and won't say that our 2 soldiers "worth" all those innocent that got killed, we don't think like that. again, we did, do and will do though, everything we can to keep our people safe, at every cost I guess. It's hard to understand it when you don't live in this situation.

I don't think that innocent people should be killed, the IDF could've and should have acted more carefully, but I agree with them that we had to attack, with full force (Kinda contradict myself here).

Although when i dont filter this rationally i do understand how you feel. If i put myself in this scenario, i understand, i truly do. But the contradictions are there, and there is no logical way of reconciling this two points. At an emotional level i understand the want to protect your fellow countrymen, but as i stated before in this thread, people that are emotianlly involve will tend to make decisions that they will either regret in the future or will cost them dearly because they could not anticipate the repercusions correctly.
