Yeah, its been working great. A couple months ago the left channel would cut out every now and again but that must have been something with my old turntables cuz its not a problem now...

I bring you mine and Misty Kitty's set-up (Techs within the next few months :crazy

Man my speakers are huuuuuge!!!!

Posted by khemfusion on Jan-30-2004 04:06:

Thats my humble setup, I just bought this equipment, and I know it's all cheap stuff. I spin mostly psytrance/goa, so I wish I had purchased a CDJ instead to start, living in a small town in western BC makes it very difficult to get my hands on vinyl.

Since I have a small collection I also have one of the inputs on my mixer attached to my computer and play off songs using "Tactile12000". The whitelabel records on the decks are sides D and B of Cosmoon - Damnation Generation, one of my favourites in the collection right now for it's driving bassline, it makes you want to dance. I just switched tonight to this style of setup, it was battle before

Don't you get really bad vibrations through your decks (with the potential to skip) having them sit on the speakers like that?

I know, I like to have room to play around on the record, having the tonearm to the left opens up a large space for my right hand on the right table (hence why I used to have them setup battle style before, I only changed it cause this way gives me better access to pitch sliders)

*shrug* to each his own i guess..

Lol vacuum tubes?!?! hahah awesome!1
Are those klipsch speakers?

Posted by DjJade on Feb-03-2004 04:26:

hehe yeah it was a physics project for my senior year of highschool...slightly modified and cleand up but its still basically the same. sounds great

and yes... those are klipsch speakers. rb-5II and i also have the rsw-12 in the closet... ill post a pic of that later.

thanks for the complements : )

Posted by vhx1 on Feb-03-2004 04:26:

Also whut are those things on top of the amps?

Posted by DjJade on Feb-03-2004 04:30:

well on the last amp picture...there are two b&k amps and then my two valve amps on top of the solidstate ones.

the b&k are 140watts each. even with that power, my little bookshelves smile at it..its crazy ive never seen anything of that size get so loud.

the valve amps are between 5-10watts. even those will drive the speakers to a level that would surprise anyone.

Posted by vhx1 on Feb-03-2004 04:36:

How do the homemade valve amps sound? sounds like a possible project cuz i'm poor hahaha

Posted by DjJade on Feb-03-2004 04:40:

i have yet to hear anything better but keep in mind i used very expencive parts. all riken ohm resistors, black gate caps, alps pots, and pure silver wire. the tubes are also rare...especially all the tubes [except for the middle one..thats the most expencive so i got a cheap one] but the small one with the red base is extremely expencive..so is the the other one.

you need to keep in mind that they are not very powerful but will sound good provided that you have good speakers. also...they are very fragile [broke my little redbase ~150$ in transport to school] but its very rewarding experience to build and listen to soemthing like it come to live.
