well i don't know the exact specs for serato, but for traktor scratch it's basically a 2khz sine wave on both channels, with a 90° shift on one of them. i don't know how they encode the position though, i suppose it's a kind of amplitude manipulation on both channels. if you listen to it, it sounds kind of like the sound oldschool dialup modems used to produce.

serato uses 1khz or maybe 1.2khz carrier signal.

the "old" finalscratch used a 1khz carrier and changed the amplitude on one of the two channels to encode its position.

it's fun to swap the vinyls of the systems finalscratch vinyls on traktor scratch lead to -50% playback, and +100% vice versa

yeah it's a nice mixer, but this one is not in the best condition unfortunately. it's working, but the faders aren't moving very smooth, and one of them is actually broken (missing the right channel when moved to the very top). the knobs for the gains are also pretty much done...

it's been in heavy club use (in a local club that doesn't exist any more - the name of the club is hand-carved into the surface...) and was very dirty when i got it. i've already cleaned it internally and on the surface, but i will still have to replace some parts before it's completely back to it's best form...

the advantage though is that i got it in exchange for a little favor from some buddies of mine, didn't cost a penny

Why don't you have the balls to post this bullshit with your own username Existo22? And why do you go on deleting threads where you're called out? Fuck off already, nobody wants you here. We are really fucking close to disclosing all your personal info. Asshole.

And this is one thread you cannot delete.

I don't get it mang... He's been spamming here for a while. It shouldn't take a mod 10 years to spot the guy.

Please get him banned, i'm awfully tired of this guy spamming his shit here and other DJ forums.

Anyways...is anyone interested in buying a used CDJ-1000? It belongs to a friend of mine in Dallas and it's in mint condition. Never been out of the house, and he's giving it for $1000.

He'll send me some pics later.

Nice.

How do you like the evo?
Have you ever used a djm800 and how does it compare?

The Evo is the best decision I'v ever made, DJ-wise. I've used the DJM-800 many times. It is an excellent all-around mixer, but the Evo is in a different league in terms of, most importantly, sound quality, and then in terms of features, customization, etc. (ie: fader curve customization, effects chaining, etc.) It is trickier to use than the 800, I will say that. But once you have it for a bit it becomes second nature. I'd match it up next to ANY of the other big boys without a second thought. Ecler may not have market saturation as much as the other guys, especially here in the states, but man they're awesome.
The built-in Traktor and Ableton compatibility is great too. And even though I use the Torq software, I actually use the Evo's internal ASIO-compatible sound card for the sound output. It, in my opinion, is the best of both words. In other words, all I have to do is plug the Conectiv dongle into a usb port on my laptop just to launch Torq, but then I can do away with all the RCA connections from the Conectiv and simply use 1 firewire cable from the Evo to my laptop.

Not bad. How are those Stanton decks? I've never heard much about them. I know Vestax pdx's are supposed to be the tip of the titties.

Also, someone needs to dust

Do you use midi with your evo? I have an Evo 4 and I can't get the top knobs to work correctly with torq or serato. The knob on the mixer doesnt move the knob on torq/serato, it just turns it on or off. Only thing that pisses me off with the mixer...
