no because the bassdriver is missing in one of the speakers

^like the new xone 92 faceplate.

Ah ha... Apologies, I just know a lot of really nice old speakers. But as it turns out you're completely right.

Keithos, it would be savage if you could get a new faceplate. I'd be interested in that as well, although I know from some previous reading on here that someone was looking to get a new one and it's supposedly a lot of work undoing all the components as all the circuitry is vertically installed.

That Styleflip vinyl crowd is another option i'm looking into, only costs 50 smackeroos and looks pretty snazzy too

that 92 faceplate is ugly as fuck. they just managed to make the mixer look more generic than ever

I'd like to see how the UV markings it has work, or should i say how effectively they work.

I quite like it compared to the bland grey they had on the old one (the one i have)..

Agreed 100%. It looks like a Denon now, as I stated in some other thread. Thankfully mine is the old one. Altho I've never liked the looks of it that much I certainly like it much better than the new one. I'm kinda bummed I'm probably gonna have to get a Xone:1D with the new ugly faceplate besides my Xone:92 as the old one isn't really available anywhere.

n3lly i remember reading that someplace too... which is probably why i'll never do it, hehe. don't want to mess up my baby!

may go down the other route you mentioned one of these days...

If I go ahead with it I'll be sure to let you know

a bit of a mess, just got this sefour stand for free from a friend. im in need for a new mixer, probably the djm700.

also saving up for serato, sold it to a friend because i was broke.

A couple of months old picture. Have the Sennheiser HD25 SP1's now though.

Thinking of complementing this setup with an EFX-500. What do you guys reckon? Should I save up the money and get the 800 mixer instead?

Posted by Ted Promo on Feb-04-2010 07:03:

I'd always go with a better mixer before an effects unit. Especially if you've got a capable laptop that could run a dvs.

Also, the 800 will have effects built-in.

Though blahhhh to effects most of the time.

ghetto as FUCK but it works.

Posted by iammesol on Feb-04-2010 21:30:

lol

Looks exactly the same as the setup I was using when I was 14, Austin. I only had belt drive Stantons and a Behringer mixer though.

There's nothing Ghetto about a set of 1200's and PCV 275 mate. Fucking love that mixer. Those kill switches are a hell of a lot of fun to flick around as well.

Throw a black table cloth (any table cloth) over that table and it'll look a lot cleaner Cheap but effective (the cloth not the gear )

nelly

My set up: In the studio not bedroom.

3-Technic SL-1210 M5G Turntables (1 for a spare)
2-Technic SL-1210 MK-2 Turntables (had these since 1990)
2-Denon DN-S3500 Cd turntables
2-Denon DN-S1000 Cd players (back's up the 3500's)
1-Denon DN-X1500 Mixer
1-Denon DN-X1500s Mixer
1-Korg KP-2 Kaoss Pad
1-Sony MDR-7506 Headphones
2-Pioneer CDJ-1000MK3 Cd turntables (new this year, was a must)
1-Vestax PM-250 mixer w/rotary input faders
1-Urei 1620 mixer (the original)
2-KRK Rokit 8 monitors
2-Alesis ML-9600 Masterlink's
1-Akai DR-16 hard disk recorder w/external 180g scsi drive
1-Denon DN-C680 Cd Player
1-Denon DN-D4000 Dual Cd Player
1-Mac Pro running MOTU DP7, Pro Tools 7, and M-Audio Torq
2-Furman AR-20 20amp power conditioners
2-Spacetek Universal Cd Turntable stands w/ the big base.
*All cabling is Canare and Mogami with Neutrik connections.

Most of the stuff goes out with me. The 1500s, 3500's, M5g's, kp-2, and the cdj's is what goes out. I primarily spin cd's these days, with very little vinyl going out. The vinyl stays at home, and I'll use it for an album or something. I did purchase Torq last summer. I've messed with it, but still refuse to bring it out. I've become a little biased to looking at a computer monitor. Mostly because of all the years I've worked in recording studios and sitting at Pro Tools all day long.

why do u need 5 turntables?

Posted by Saint John on Feb-06-2010 18:25:

Did a lot of you bring your setups with you when you went to college? I'm thinking about selling my tech 12's and getting some smaller CDJ's since I won't have much room. At the same time, I want to keep my turntables, just incase I go back to vinyl in the future or what not.

Keep them

Study hard, don't mix. No i joke but keep the techs. It's nice having a set of them around. I think you'd lose out more if you sold them bought cdj's then sold them etc.

ps. i like your avatar. She's hot.

Posted by Brandt Slater on Feb-07-2010 06:42:

Here are a few photos. Lets see if I loaded these correctly. I apologize for some of the qualities of the photos. Some images were taken from a camera and others from an iphone.

My set up.

Same set up different angle. I have an identical set up which goes out with me. Only difference between the two is the other one has a 1500s, 1-M5G, 1-1210mk2. The reason for two. My condo is on the third floor, and it started to get a little tiring carrying this one down and up again. Especially at 4 in the morning. Only thing that goes out is the KP-2.

A Denon C-680 and Masterlink. All my mixshow's and practice session get recorded here.

More photos to come...

More pics.

The vinyl.

cd's

Vestax PM-25.

Urei 1620. I found this at a pawn shop in Buffalo, NY when I was on tour. It's amazing how many Pawn shop owners don't know the value of some stuff. I've played around with the 1620 a bit. I like the rotary's over faders, but it's challenging.

Denon DP-DJ151's

Technics 1210mk2 and 1200. The 1200 is for parts, the 1210 is one my originals. It has a bad mother board, so it's not operating. I have a new board, just haven't gotten around to installing it.

Another set up which I used to leave at my girlfriend's place. I sold the 3500's and used the money for my CDJ's. I liked the 3500's, but CDJ's are standard. the 1500s I still have and is in the other coffin.

My newest additions. Still haven't had the chance to really get in to them.

Older Martin Roboscans. 2-218's, 1-518, 1-812.

Oh, yeah I was more talking about the table and general location of the setup. I love my actual setup though, and I really do need to get something to throw over that table.

I'm getting a couple cdj-200's from a friend in the near future, so it'll be a pretty functional little setup.
