Not yet. The owner is just looking at all his businesses with a consultant. It would be a good time to sell though, since the franchise has gained 18% on its value this year and ranks 4th overall (in all 4 north american sports) in fiscal performance.

Personally, i am at the point where i would rather see their plane impload and we could start all over.

yep its a buisness, they bought it, they can sell it .

i say no way you guys can win it all again but on the other hand it is detroit and stranger things have happened. as an avs fan not really a fan of the red wings but i very much respect them. if they win again that's just crazy.

Posted by bamski on Mar-25-2009 07:18:

Filppula gets the gamewinner against the Oilers, and Selanne did the same against Nashville. Habs win and Koivu gets 1+2.

Last night was a good night, if only MIN would have beat NYR it would have been perfect!

edit: Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev

Posted by smellyblack on Mar-26-2009 14:16:

it has only been one game for that line, lets see if they can keep it up.

They also did it against atlanta, i'm not so sure they can do it against a team that puts out grit against them. They all have glass jaws

we better beat tampa tonight or mr t gonna slap some fools

Posted by sean5 on Mar-26-2009 16:23:

yeah atlanta has given up the second most goals in the league this year and tampa is the third so they should have a similar game, but looking back at previous matchups it seems they have struggled with tampa.

Posted by Deeks1187 on Mar-26-2009 18:42:

if atlanta only learned how to keep the puck out of their own net...
tsk tsk they scored 226 goals this year and are already eliminated

Posted by sean5 on Mar-27-2009 02:38:

apparently they learned during the third period and shootout :\

if he can get a good price for the canadiens, he can possibly get rid of his annoying co-owner tom hicks at liverpool, and liverpool have more of a worldwide market than montreal, so it would be a good thing to do, but if it all happens, I dunno.

i would not be so sure of that.

the canadiens are the most known hockey franchise in the world, liverpool is not.

think outside england here ian.

what a close one last night (not really tampas goalie was on fire) but i will take it. Sean we will finish before your rangers

Posted by sean5 on Mar-28-2009 02:52:

rangers have such a tough schedule to end the season that as long as they make it, i will be happy.

Posted by L.E.N. on Mar-28-2009 20:12:

I hope the sharks can pull their heads out and look like a playoff team.

Posted by smellyblack on Mar-28-2009 20:58:

when teams are in no danger of missing the playoffs, they usually chill a bit towards the end of the season.

I'm not saying they will win the cup, but the sharks are not playing for anything right now. It is smart, and they should rest as many guys as possible to ensure the best playoff performance LEN. The presidents cup< stanley cup imo.

sean, i can't see Florida doing it. I think we will be fighting amongst ourselves for 7 and 8th.

i honestly would much rather face boston than new jersey

liverpool are, they've been surpassed a bit by man united, real madrid etc in the last 10 years or so, but have a very decorated history and appeal in countries where hockey doesn't. I think gillett really wants hicks out of liverpool though & would sell montreal for a good price now to get that deal done.

I agree but its a bit nerve wracking. Normally the pres. cup isnt much but I think Detroit having home ice is not a good thing, at least for the sharks.

Posted by smellyblack on Mar-29-2009 17:28:

to a Stanley Cup caliber team home ice is not as important as it would be for those teams in the lower brackets.

The Sharks are good enough to make it far even if they lose every game left this year, i am still not sold on them being cup winners, but it is far from being out of the question

devils are looking real shaky rite now...its a good thing theyve clinched already but offense is looking like it's old form

Posted by bamski on Mar-30-2009 07:53:

Backs & Rinne deliver again

Ducks crush the Av's, I think I have a crush on Bobby Ryan

Bruins just keep looking better every night, maybe even final-material, no?

the habs have never played well against the devils, the bruins on the other hand can never beat us in the playoffs. The last time they finished at the top of the eastern conference we promptly booted them out in the first round. There is also a good rivalry going between the 2 teams and its fans, something that is non existent with New Jersey. Gimme the bruins.

since you put it that way, you can have em
I want the rangers!

Posted by chimera66 on Mar-31-2009 01:01:

i don't know guys i think the devils are nasty and they generally show up come playoff time...i wouldn't want to play them either

Posted by sean5 on Mar-31-2009 04:38:

i don't know why devil fans would want them to play the rangers. the only time the devils beat the rangers was when jagr and lundqvist got hurt. devils have an especially hard time with avery and he becomes a huge factor whenever he plays them. i hope that devils play the penguins and knock them out which would give the rangers the best chance at getting to the cup just my opinion hehehehehhehe
