I guess this sums it up. I am still bitching cause I only want more people who feel the same to speak up and expect more of you guys and deliver like you use to do. A month untill the event and still no line up. is it really too much to ask for a rich ass company as insomniac to do something that hasn't been seen in LA? Or should we accept the same line ups every year. Cause we all know millions of dollars will be made regardless.

I agree with you that waiting this long for a complete lineup is pretty lame and there is pretty much no excuse for being so slow. Still, what "we" think really doesn't matter when they continually manage to pull record numbers to this festival. The only thing that will cause a change in the way they do business is if their attendance drops. But, with the way EDM is blowing up in the US lately I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I dunno, I already decided I was going this year because my friends wanted to go and I figure pretty soon I'll be too old to still be going to raves. I just wanna see the biggest EDM party in the US, and I plan to enjoy it for what it is.

And dude, you live in berkeley... The 21+ techno scene here in SF is SO FUCKING GOOD that it really shouldn't matter too much that it's under-represented at one party. You don't have to drive 400 miles to get it, you can find some every night just across the bridge.

I am a year shy of 21 and the fake doesn't work everywhere. But there is still alot of good stuff to catch around here.

Ah well thats way tougher then. You're definitely in the minority for "kids" in your age group, hence the lack of techno bookings at 18+/all ages parties. Shit i'm almost 24 and i'm still pretty much the youngest person at most techno events. You can try finding some UGs but overall you're hurtin' till your birthday, outside of outdoor stuff like lovefest/dirtybird sundays/etc.

Sunset day parties and Dirtybird keep me alive in times like this lol. At least timo is here tomorrow. Still its just sad to watch these festivals get worse each year and to watch more sheeps come. It's just really greedy and I don't feel the love for the music anymore there.

LA is a lot different from the bay. They (the majority) want the hype shit. It'll always be that way. Once LA massives start booking techno dj's, techno as genre would have hit the mainstream and we (the minority) would then be complaining about that.

Overall, EDC is a fun event. Yes, you'll be stepping over e-puddles, buying expensive drinks, eating horrible foods (if you anyone can even eat) but it is definitely an experience. This will be my 4th year attending since moving to the Coliseum and each year, its been pretty fucking wicked.

LOL gotta love how they'll still make too much money. way too much money for the effort they put into it. almost makes me want to take out a huge loan and rent out the venue myself.

Both years I went to EDC I remember being on the Coliseum floor at ~2am underneath the moon and stars, feeling the cool June night air, being surrounded by many tens of thousands of people, seeing thousands of moving lights in the stands, and thinking that the scale of the event is awesome.

By the way, June 26th will be a full moon.

Its a company that hosts massive drug fests, not GE or any company who gives two shits about "ethics." While it might seem unfair, theres not much you, or anyone else can do about it, so if you have a problem with them, just don't go to their events.

Are you serious? LA massives are looked down upon i understand, we've been trying for years to create a great experience for everybody. EDC is a great festival overall to attend. The line up announced in Page 1 is massive. Tell me where else in CA are you going to get a line up like this?

I'm not saying that you guys don't throw great parties, in fact, compared to Fresh and Motiv events, Insomniac events look like the palace of Versailles. What I was saying was, don't complain about things like money and ethics when talking about a company that hosts raves.

And I am very, very excited about EDC!

edit:now, if I do have one complaint, its that Gareth Emery is not on the mainstage!
