i LOL'ed when he played sound of goodbye...

i was glad that the show was not so milodic. that was my main concern ~bob your head and sway to the music ex..~ he def. was atleast trying to keep the energy in the room. i had a good time except for a few dozen run ins with morans, wannabe's, and dancing people that mimiced chokeing victoms..

Side note. i got 4 sigs on the T-shirt now! woot woot

Markus was enjoyable, however the crowd last night was damn near horrible. Stupid-ass fights breaking out, people shoving, E-tards actin' a fool, teens asking me to buy them booze in the bathroom, etc.

I've never bitched about a crowd before @ Foundation until last night. I give the show a 5/10 only because of Markus laying it pretty thick. Other than that, it was hardly an enjoyable experience. Fuck 18+ nights, I understand they're revenue builders, but this is what you get when you let punk-ass teens come in and act like children. I'm used to that crap happening over at 'The Loft', but not Foundation.

I can't report on the Deep Lounge because I didn't happen to make a stop in there. I'm sure it was a better atmosphere than the main room. Sorry I didn't see you there last night, Tyler. I didn't make it to Foundation until a quarter after Midnight. Did you stay for the entire show or head out after your set?

Happy belated Birthday to you as well, too bad I didn't seeya there, I would've bought you a shot. Next time I suppose.

I've got no ill-will towards Foundation however. It still remains my favorite Twin Cities venue But unless it's an extremely good act coming to town. I think I'll skip out on the 18+ events from now on.

[/Rant]

PS. I saw Jack there last night as well, but in usual fashion he was moving around like a super-hero on a mission so I wasn't able to say hello.

Was an after party held anywhere last night?

I had a pretty good time. I agree on the 18+ crowds, but imagine how dead it would have been without them, I'd say they made up almost 50% of the crowd. I went back for Acquaviva on Friday night and the crowd wasn't nearly as annoying, must just be that trance music.

And thanks for the bday wishes

It is the trance music, I have no idea why the kiddies are so attracted to it. I remember seeing a kid @ Tiesto w/ a Dave Mathews Band T-shirt on...

I wish I could've made it for Acquaviva. I'm so broke right now I wasn't able to pull 2 shows b2b nights. I agree with you on the 18+ being a revenue generator and you're obligated to do it. So, I'm not too thick headed to realize the implications of making that show 21+.

Just ranting really. I don't blame you guys as the promoters of the show nor do I blame Foundation. 18 year olds are supposed to be adults as well, and I blame them for their own actions.

Did Acquaviva have a good turn out of people? In hind-sight I wish I attended that instead. Did he tear it up?

EDIT: BTW Tyler, I'm really diggin' your new Orana Project remix of 'Aura'. Helluva track, I'm glad it's gettin' support from the big names right now as well.

Not to mention that 'Origami' is awesome as well. I picked up the original mix of that back in June. Keep up the good work man.

acquaviva started out reeeeeeally slow attendance-wise. but by the end of his set the place was pretty packed and everyone was having a good time. as far as my tastes are concerned, it was probably the best night of music i've seen there in a loong time.

and thanks for the props on aura man. just started to play around with the trance stuff again, so it was more of an experiment than anything.

i took this whole post-finals week off of work, so there is plenty more material on the way

Acquaviva was a lot of fun. It was pretty desolate at the start of his set. By the end though the dancefloor was pretty full, but not so full there wasn't room to dance. He played some sick tracks too.

Good set overall fer sure. Beats out Gabriel & Dresden by a bit I thought (which is saying quite a bit, imho).

Had a lot of fun @ Deadmau5 tonight. I only got to see the last hour of his set, due to line/bouncers not allowing people into Envy. The club is very nice & swanky however that was a let down, not being able to access the club.

Tyler, it was great to finally meet you, bud. Something that seemed long overdue.

Phil, nice to see you out there with your ravin' shoes on, lol. All in all a great night however. Joel looked like he was having a blast and so that got the crowd moving with him nicely.

Thanks for another awesome time SIM. Keep 'em comin'.

Posted by habs24-7 on Dec-22-2007 17:38:

envy= hate hate hate from me! No fun standing in the freezing cold rain but luckily the bouncer eventually decided they did indeed want my ten dollars.

show was fantastic. glad to see a lot of people out. I can officially die happy having seen a giant man-mouse dance around to edm!

Posted by cmay119 on Jan-03-2008 06:28:

I recently reviewed it. It turned out pretty well. Not my best mixing (read: pretty bad), but all in all a good night and Dan's part was extra impressive.

Will burn to DVD and get it to you when I see ya next.

Anyone got any info on some upcoming shows? Something before the 20th of January perhaps.

Would love to have an evening out one more time before the kids go back to school.
