That oatmeal stout was the first one i had tried, and ever since then i'm a huge fan of the style.
twas good

wheeeeee

I had a party this weekend, for the beers I went to this place called The Beer Paradise (in Dutch though). It's awesome, it's like this big warehouse where all sorts of crates are piled up next to each other. Insane amounts of all sorts of beers, like you can't imagine.
I didn't have all the time in the world but I'm going back there soon for the deposits, and I'm going to make sure I have enough time to browse the whole store for the best special beers.
Since all I read about here are IPA's, and most beers in the store are Belgian (the store is located just across the border, in Belgium), I'm going to score some Belgian IPA's. Any good recommendations?
This one perhaps? http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/321/27804

lolll but nachos ! those monster asahi's are pretty nice for getting drunk for no apparent reason. they go down like water
Asian beer =
Sometimes it's fun to drink one or 2 of those, make dumplings + rice...eat with chopsticks.
Nou, you forgot to logout LADaze.
Also, trying Breckenridge 471 for the first time. Very smooth and tasty, with quite a bit of currant. I like.

I like Asahi...
Ehhh, I'm with srussell on this one. Not really a fan of Asian beers. I mean, they're better than most Australian beers, but that's not really saying much
I'm a big fan of Asian beers, in the right setting. When I'm out for Japanese food, I want a Japanese beer. Though if they have a full bar I'll go for the Shochu Martini every time
I prefer asian beers to american macros. That doesn't mean I really like em but those massive asahi bottle feel so good to hold (lol) and when the first few gulps are almost too cold to drink..that's beautiful.

WHEN I EAT MEXICAN FOOD I ONLY DRINK DOS EQUIS BECAUSE IT'S AUTHENTIC
when i eat mexican food i only drink mexican beers because the place i get mexican food at has specials on mexican beers - $5 for a 36oz draft of dos equis amber or lager
you do realize that if you don't give a shit about taste, and just want to get drunk, you can just buy a fifth of smirnoff, right?
That's not really a good analogy. Think of it this way - you mostly listen to one type of music. You love it. Occasionally you listen to something different even though you aren't as fond of it. For whatever reason... Maybe there are just certain times when you want something different. At those moments, I gulp down 2 pints of asahi. Or maybe a really light german pilsner.
Why stop at Smirnoff? Monarch, baby!
...
Yeah, but fuck that. Though, actually, I'd personally rather have Smirnoff than Grey Goose.
I just happen to like matching my food with my drink. I'd never buy any Asian beer at the store, but I do enjoy it when I'm down in the International District here.
I always drink asahi with sushi. I couldn't imagine drinking an ipa or even a lighter pale ale with such a meal. The asahi is a wonderful complement
Mad Tom IPA is really good. If you can find it, that is.
Finally got my hands on some 90min IPA
