LOL You're in richmond? For some reason I figured you were up north. Yeah it's an indie film, but apparently it's by Universal. I dunno.

Ok, so here's something for people to think about:

You're walking down the street in Chicago when 0-degree-Fahrenheit air is moving down the street with freestream velocity of 30 mph. At each block, as the air impacts at the corner of a building, a boundary layer builds up along the side of the building, just like on a flat plate. To avoid getting too cold, you walk very close to the building, hoping to stay inside the bounday layer. At what minimum distance from the corner can you be guaranteed that boundary layer will be at least 2 feet wide? For air, density = 0.085 lb-mass/foot^3, viscosity = 0.0393 lb-mass/foot-hour.

If anyone can help, 'twould be greatly appreciated! This problem is getting on my nerves something fierce!

Sorry if that's just too much for anyone to think about this late at night, but I'm getting desperate.

yeah, if i were semi-sober i could possibly help you out. pv=nrt seems a little simple for this...

Posted by PhloTron on Oct-10-2003 07:17:

easy...

your body will "think" it's about -40 due to the windchill so all the air will be cold and thus there will be no effective boundry layer.
The question is irrellivent.

I can't be arsed to read that whole mess because I'm too drunk, but all I know is Chicago is fucking cold in the winter when the wind is blowin!

Posted by DasBrotBesser on Oct-10-2003 07:30:

Wow, I really know how to kill a thread, or any social situation for that matter. I'll be sure to ask this question as soon as PvD comes on too.

(I'm thinking of one of my friends with that one: "Oh that shit does NOT fly... that shit does NOT fly, dude."

agreed. that wind off of lake michigan is bone-chilling and damp. hide inside a building, not against the edge.

speaking of Lake Michigan

Anyone going to Pvd Chicago Nov 15?

gah my hands smell like Vodka-Red Bull

I may fly out there to see him...Mr.S lives out there and is interested since he's never been to a club/concert...hell I introduced electronic beats to him myself...lol.

He's in Seattle on Oct 31...both are fri/sats...so if i get one off I'll probably get them both off....of course...I could get neither date off and miss his U.S. tour completely...again. grrr.

just missed the spacebar. and i know most of the people and prefer to avoid them. i still have a strong aversion to people i wasn't close with in high school. particularly because if they're still here, they haven't changed at all

i have no desire to go back to high school. any time i travel i'm always happy to go to bars alone. a girl alone in a bar gets a lot of attention and doesn't have to pay for anything

meh, i'm about 45 minutes from adam's morgan, maybe 30. no bar b/c i don't want to see people from high school without my friends from high school for protection from awkwardness.
