list of dumonde tracks regarded as classics, vs the list of alphazone tracks regarded as classics
the fact that since I've been clubbing, I've only ever heard one Alpazone track be played, and that was on saturday, and it didn't get a great reaction "whats this rip off of that push tune?"
and it doesnt take someone with an incredible music ear to compare tracks to find theres a vast difference in the production standard....

1) dumonde are active for years, of course they have a bigger tune list
2) i don't rate one above the other
3) you can't deny some of the latest dumonde productions are rather dodgy...
4) and they both produce good dancable trance music...not the most perfected constructed and producted trance tune. both dumonde and alphazone are of the same nature

This has turned into DuMonde Vs. Alphazone again....

I think we've already had this flame war somewhere before, Cd Releases forum maybe...I cant remember...

Anyway - yes musical taste is down to opinion, and some people find some music better than others, but if we all just respected that, these boards would be boring as fuck you all know that, clashing opinions and arguments to back them up make the discussions on these boards.

Anyway - back on topic - it's not that I think Alphazone are technically bad producers, I think the sounds they produce are good, better than the average.

It's the musical content I don't like. To me, especially with their recent productions, i.e the remix of the Euphonic tune and Rockin, the melodies in the tracks seem to "boring" and "easy" if you get what I mean. It just feels like they thought "Oh fuck it just wap a big uplifting synth in there it wont matter." - dont get me wrong, I dont hate Alphazone or anything, it's just that I don't like them.

And DuMonde kick their asses

Myself I feel that Alphazone are big players at the moment, and their sound has started to change. Up until Legacy, their tracks all had a similar feel to the first track I heard by them (DJ Kim - Jetlag (AZ Remix)). However, now with Rockin' their sound has become *ever so slightly* more commercial. The riff in Rockin no longer retains that hard edged sound evident in their older tracks, but is more of a happy uplifting track - thank god the Tony Burt and Mat Silver remix brought it up to great standards. Don't get me wrong, I love Alphazone, and Rockin' and I don't think Legacy sounded half as much like Strange World as you lot all seem to think it did. Sure, the first two notes are the same, but the rest isn't - and it's not as if the entire chord progression was stolen (HELLO SCOOTER!). I didn't even realise its similarity until I read about it here.

So at the end of the day, Alphazone...in my opinion no, they are not better than Dumonde (they are a legend now, tracks like Tommorow and Never Look Back are modern classics) - but Alphazone had better watch their style and watch who they remix for if they wish to continue being seen as 'proper' producers...ie. please do not remix the NEXT Kira song - it will kill your reputation. They had better think long and hard about their future moves.
