Because he's being sarcastic, if you'll notice how Patticus says "how about these ones, which havent been mentioned yet" then proceeds to name off 5 songs which already have been mentioned including Age of Love which has been mentioned about 5 times now.

ugh. let's put it this way, i can't tell if he's joking or being serious, EVEN if he's sarcastic. bahh..

also, if you're looking for some classic trance/techno, definitely check out anything released under the "eye q" label from the early 90's. some artists: brainchild, zyon, hardfloor, cygnus x.

Be Cool!

Space Manoeuvers- Stage 1 (Tilt remix)
Moogwai- Viola (AVB remix)
Atlantis- Fiji
Sean Dexter- Synathetica

Ok here are my all time faves:

1. Brainchild - Symmetry C ...what a crazy pretty trippy tune. Fucking beautiful

2. Chemical Brothers - Influenced- the most paranoid and brilliant song I have ever heard.

3. Salt Tank - Eugina - It is stupid how pretty this song is.

4. Bt - Mercury And Solace - Best BT song EVER. Way too gorgeous. =D

5. Blank And Jones - Beachball...great great party tune.

=D

Posted by patticus on Jun-13-2001 09:33:

i thought eugina was a new track?
or maybe im just out of the loop.
also, isn't it stage one - space manouvres instead...

anyways trance nation 2 was good, 3 not so good

bt + pvd - namistai and grace - not over yet are definitely classics

i wont be sarcastic anymore, if people stop suggesting age of love

@ twilogoddess: I thought Atlantis - Fiji was from 2000?

@blue_neon: Trance Nation 3 is from '94, I don't think it has songs from 98 on it...

@Pachoo: There is a track "Beachball" by Blank & Jones ??? do you mean Nalin & Kane? If you mean that one, it's a classic for sure.

Someone was unsure if Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (Signum Mix) is from early 2000: It's older. I played it in April 99.

Ok, now enough of being a smartass here are my classics:

1.Aurora Borealis - The Milky Way (Lunatic Acid Mix)

2.Kamasutra - Waterfront/Airback (still not sure what the right title is...I have the vinyl which calls it Waterfront and the B-Side Airback, but there is a CD that lists the track as Airback...)

3.Exit "EEE" - Epidemic

Oh, and forgot to mention:
Age Of Love (Johnny Vicious Mix)

Who are these 'Trouser Enthusiasts' and what's their style? Never heard of them before and you keep on referring to them.

Well why don't you try downloading one of these tracks to find out what style they are? Trouser Enthusiasts is a guy from Northern Ireland called Ian Masterson. He is half of Mekka (responsible for "Diamondback") and also uses the alias "Monoboy". Most of his remixes are excellent and he has remixed everything from Armin to Dannii Minogue!

Wow...so many good songs pre '99...hmm..didn't get to filter through all the threads obviously but one song that definitely left its mark has to be from the great duo of corsten and tiesto...i say gouryella,-gouryella...shit, tenshi is becoming a classic as well...they're awesome...

Aight, I know theres a TRANCE NATION as well , is a german compilation, and is wierd that you mentioned that TRANCE NATION is from 94, I know that the Ministry Of sound trance nation 3 is definetly from 99, if not early 00, and abut the TRANCE NATION from germany, I dont know if is Trance NAtion 2 or 3, but it has one disk mixed by AYLA, and the other by MAURO PICOTTO, awesome CD !!! and they are not from 94, is there another TRANCE NATION cd ?!? besides those 2 I just mentioned ?!?!

Okay...
My todays CLASSIC 99 are...

Blank and Jones -- after love
Marc et Claud -- Ne
Marc et claud -- LA
did anyone mention binary finary -- 1999 ?!? I guess so.. I dunno

Posted by Pachoo on Jun-13-2001 19:49:

Haha yeah My bad. I meant to say nalin and kane - beachball, not Blank And Jones. =D Love that song. And Eugina is about 2 years old. IT came out in early 99. There are new mixes of it out recently(like by Michael Woods) but it is an old track. =D

Posted by bluE_Neon on Jun-13-2001 20:54:

Salt Tank "Eugina" is from 1992. It was re-released in July 96, then in early 99, then in 2000.

Atlantic Ocean - Waterfall (Recently back in charts, but very old, dunno wot yr tho.)
Bassline Pumpers - The Frontdoor (Dunno if it really is from before '99, but its a classic...)

All of you should be thrown into solitary confinement for forgetting these!

blank & jones - cream
lange - i believe (dj tandu mix)
Ayla - Angelfalls
Cosmic Gate - Mental Atmosphere (Original Mix)
Kaycee - escape
Solar Stone - Seven city's.

Andi H is correct, I was talking about the German Trance Nation, which started in '94 with "Trance Nation '94" and later Trance Nation 2, then 3, then 95, 5,...stopped buying it.
The first track on the first CD happens to be the track that I'm not allowed to mention here
There's also, Cosmic Baby, Renegade Legion, Paragliders and even SCOOTER, back in the days they made some nice trance, before HP started stealing all the lyrics from Ultra Sonic...
Mix CD is done by Jens Mahlstedt, who was playing trance back then, like many other of the big techno DJs of these days.
Like Timo Maas. He used to play at Tunnel (Trance Force). Ever heard "Timo Maas - The Final Excess"??? Must be one of the cheesiest rave tracks ever!

I didn't know there is a UK "Trance Nation", but I guess the German one was there, first.

Posted by Fatboy on Jun-14-2001 15:31:

Ok, no one mentioned this yet, so here it goes

Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (En Motion Mix)

Definitely one of the best tracks ever imo...

Peace
