Awesome night

Tiesto's set ruled, as did what I heard of Armin's.. Sean and I finally couldn't take the heat anymore, as we were sitting down, not dancing and still sweating profusely. Even our jeans were completely soaked from ankles to waist. We went up to sit outside the hiphop room too cool off a bit, since it was nice and cool up there. It would've been nice to sit and hear good music though!

Sorry we missed the TA meetup, would've liked to have seen all you guys, Sean was working on his alcoholic tendencies hehe

Highlights of the night for me:
GTR - Mistral
Igor S - Boomerang (even when I was exhausted I couldn't help dancing to this!)

Taha and Malek, I couldn't find you guys! I still managed to find DJ Charlie, Alec and ZinG for 2 seconds though, hope you all had as great a time as I did

Great set by Tiesto!!..
That was the first time I saw him playing and he surely didnt dissapoint!! Lots of nice tunes... What disapointed me the most though is how hot the place was at that time. My shirt was completely soaked after couple hours of dancing. That was also the main reason why me and my gf left early, she started feeling sick towards the end of Tiesto's set and wanted to leave. Usually I am the first one to leave but I guess this time the ventilation was really bad. I wont complain anymore, I think you guys already have done enough of that..\
Also, whats up with Aria not serving any alcohol? I clearly know the advantages of it, but this is the first time i have been in a club that doesnt serve liquor. I guess it makes sense for an afterhours place, but couple of drinks before going on the dance floor loosen me up and I start caring less about people pushing me from all sides and enjoy the music more...

Overall great night, but too short-met some TAs - Durafei and Ortemi, was looking forward to meeting other people as well, but we had to leave very abruptly. Hopefully Armin will be coming back soon cause I wanted to see him...
oh well, its Ibiza for me next week and I hope it wont be as dissapointing there....

imagine alcohol and temp from that night (people surely would have collapsed
also I saw a cop van a car outside during Guys set, wtf was that all about?

Posted by Dj Nacht on Jun-16-2003 02:48:

DJ JGB imagine how packed and hot it was that night but with drunk people. It was allready hard enough to go up and down the stairs just imagine when your drunk. I understand what you meen though when you talk about couple drinks but unfortunately not everyone knows how to control themselves like you and me.

Posted by malek on Jun-16-2003 04:50:

the whole point of an after hour is that you drink somewhere else then come to finish the night at Aria... usually guest djs start at 4am not 1am like this friday. At 4 am you have plenty of time to get drunk (talking from experience hehe)

Incredible party definately the best party held in aria due to the lineup minus the air conditioning and heat issue/ overcrowding

Tiesto's set was incredible, armins set better and guy ornadels set built up nicely from prog to epic trance and some intresting tracks that i couldnt tell what genre they were lol

great to hear flight 643 again and nalin and kane - open your eyes omg!

tiesto nyana and tons of other great tracks

it was also great to hear strange world from armins set.. i guess its his trademark oldschool montreal track

i was surprised to see htat none of them dropped Major league wonder where you are.. i guess it was too old of a trakc.. and they didnt want to bother playing it hehe

I was expecting some tag team action.. maybe i was dillusional but it would have been cool to seee .. but armin was playing a totally different style than tiesto so i can seee how that would have been hard to negotiate

Guy ornadel decided to play igor s boomerang again.. whatt a treat to have 2 djs play that same song in the night first armin.. then guy.

Also i htink guy played fingers burnt - legoland but im not too sure and ill have to double check

I met sooooooooooooooo many tranceaddicts that night i will name off a couple that i met but my memory is already 90 % gone lol

Ortemy, PVD rules, TranceExtacy, Blitz and trance (great partying with you on the dance floor haha we tore it up nice ), Waltermindz (where the hell did you go?) lol THe montreal TA's most of you should know me by now.. i know you! the rest of the toronto TA's
who i never see because i barely party in toronto with myself living in ottawa and barely getting the chances to visit home

awesome awesome awesome time

cheers!

this time i could dance. last time you could not even get to the sides :P. this time it was hot but still on the sides there was some nice fresh air.

Here i am ! I have a virus on my computer
btw don't open swr or scr....

RnakR donne 9/10 !
(juge qubcois)

I had a blast! Tiesto dropped an awesome set! He made a few beat matching errors a couple of times but overall his set was amazing!!! When he dropped the following trancers leama - requiem for a dream (Leama's Dream Mix), Conjure One - Tears From the Moon (tiesto remix) and William Orbit - Barbers Adagio For Strings (Tiesto Remix) I was going crazy . I was a bit melancholy about leaving 10 minutes into armin's set, because I wanted to go sight seeing in Montreal the next morning with a good friend.

This was my first time at ARIA , and I was really surprised at how ghetto the club is . First of all I didn't see any sign saying ARIA nightclub, which is strange considering that this is supposed to be the biggest club in Montreal?!?!? Also it is a good thing that I've brought an umbrella with me, because it was pouring hard that evening!! And the guys at ARIA didn't bother setting up rain tents. After waiting for around 45 minutes ARIA bouncers started passing plastic covers, but by the time we got to the entrance so we could care less about their efforts to keep us dry . Inside the club it felt more like a sauna , and the club was packed to the max!!! The lasers in the club were ok, but not as powerful as the Guvernment's in Toronto. The crowed was very friendly .

It was great seeing Durafei and Artemy. Props to you guys! A big thanx to Durafei for hooking me up with my ticket. Also I had a chance to meet ahlamalek. Props to you as well for taping some parts of the event and taking pics of everyone having fun!

Btw, when are the pics going to be up?

bahahahaha it was designed to look ghetto its not the guv

Aria doesn't have/need lasers, they were bensons. Lasers aren't very apreciated either IMO. When I was at the guv, they more of a distraction than anything else... like you said, too powerful.

Don't listen to him...
there is some great chance that you may just sit back and sleep the ol' time...
Don't get "drunk" before going to an after

Posted by robR on Jun-16-2003 16:15:

wow, what can I say, the music on friday night was pretty sick . Unfortunately, due to the lack on internet I have at home, ive had to wait till now(monday morning at work) to read all the reviews you guys(and girls) have posted, glad to hear most people had a good time. Apart from that girl who lost her marbles and pulled some plugs out and the sick temperature inside, the whole night was pretty sweet.

Both sets played by tiesto and armin were better than I had hoped and one of the top tracks of the night (for my friends and I) was the track with part of the theme song from the movie platoon in it( i can never remember the name of the track). Got to meet a few new TA's and ran into some others that I've already met, glad to see you were all havin a good time. All in all it was a good night but we stayed a little too long and by the time we left we were all exhausted, dehydrated, and felt like we had heatstroke from the crazy temperatures. I saw some other people inside that looked like they were having a rough time with the heat, glad to hear most people who have posted reviews were alright.

Overall: top dj's, sweet tracks, good people, great night. already looking forward to the next adventure.

William Orbit - Barber's Adagio for Strings (Tiesto remix).

It's not the platoon theme I think, it just sounds like it, hehehe.

Posted by RazerYokes on Jun-16-2003 16:58:

Small review

Tables are great to dance on.. less heat, a lot of space and you are able to see the booth and the whole crowd. djcharlie and rnakr, we better look at the goldseries website, i think a photograph took pictures of us.. haha, like if we were that kind of guys that enjoy it to be under the spotlight

Lights and laser were awesome !!
