Greece 2000 by Three drives on a vinyl and basically the entire Tranceport set by Oakenfold.

The Prodigy kinda introduced me into "electronic" music if you may, although they are basically drum and bass. The song was called Smack my bitch up!

Love is in the air

Binary Finary - 1998 (Paul van Dyk mix) did it for me. I had always been into trance, but from that song on, it was my LIFE!

Lucid - I can't help myself (judge jules mix)
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar
Three Drives - Greece 2000

For me it wasn't one song, but a whole disk. I was interested in electronic music but didn't really know where to start. This was around christmas so I had a gift certificate for HMV to blow and I picked up Tranceport because I liked the name...

Needless to say I was hooked.

CLASSICS? or cheese

Oh wow, ok lets see, first spark was Dr. Alban - It's My Life (a true classic, even today you can hear all the remixes) - 1991? Few years later I got a 90 min tape *chuckles* of Jean-Michel Jarre (have the tape) as a present (i think), but the final firestarter was the remix of Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise by DJ Dave from the Aktivator Hits '96 (still have the tape as well =) ). Actually that really only shifted me into electronic music, but what got me into trance was Paul Oakenfold - Traceport. Track #4 (Purple (Sasha V. the Light)) is the best. I remember just listening to it over and over again, the best part is 2:59 to the end. If you haven't heard it, I suggest you do. Very nice beat and superb melody.

PAUL VAN DYK - FOR AN ANGEL

Posted by Hequn on Jul-01-2003 13:47:

Robert Miles - Children / N-Trance - Set U Free (ok maybe not strictly trance but got me into dance)

STORM - STORM (CLUB MIX)

The first time I heard this song, it was on an advert on TV for the first "Dave Pearce presents..." compilation CD.

I only heard 2 seconds of it, but I rushed out and bought the whole CD just to find out what that tune was called.

Never looked back since...

Those tracks take me back a bit....
Out of the Blue. I got it on a compilation album that also had Lierta - Lovechild, Pulp Victim - The World '99 (F. Corsten) and Lost Witness - Happiness Happening.
That did it for me...

I had been listeneing to cheesy dance for a while, through some site that had a ton of dance music videos. I saw Rank 1 - Airwave and CJ Stone - Infinity and they killed me. I had to find more, so it just expanded from there.

long ago around 97-98 there was a weekly radio show coming in from staten island, there was a dj named Richard Sullivan who used to play all these great tracks. I remember Greece 2000 being one of them along Deepsky - deliverance, Tekara-breathe in you (tekaras dub), sandra collins - red

yeah, i have that.. its good, massive stuff...

you know the name of the second song on it?

Posted by eye_03 on Jul-02-2003 00:52:

Rasta

oh, and cosmic gate - exploration of space
binary finary - 1998
blank & jones - cream (pvd mix) <------ took me a long time to find a full rip, but now i have it !

oh yeah, and one day i heard Robert Miles - children on the local pop station like 5 years ago... i never knew what the song was, but i thought about it alot, cus i really liked it. and then when i bought Resident: two years of Oakenfold at Cream, there was the tilt remix of it, and i recognized it after 5 years, and a different remix, and i was all like "i love this song". so i knew what it was called and i d/led a whole bunch of versions, and it is a good song.

oh yeah, and i was so proud of myself for recognizing it

Posted by Terrorsmurf on Jul-02-2003 00:56:
