its a shame we had to actually remove the original sample

it was a bit hit and miss with people anyway...but I loved it

I still play the Extended Original, but it will be the Original Instrumental Mix that will be on the release

Mart.....no singing for you then

Posted by [mart] on Sep-06-2003 22:56:

Am I the only one who feels guilty about this thread being at the top of this forum?

Eeewwww.. i loved the vocals there.. partly because they were taken from a "track" in one of my alltime fav movies, Blade Runner of course.

That was from 'Vangelis - Tears in the Rain', correct?

sorry!!

The only thing I can do is maybe offer you the cd of the full length mix with the sample...

Ooo.. really? Are you serious? That'd be great, as i'm not that big of an mp3 fan anymore.

Speaking of CD's;
Do you think there is a possibility of having an official CD release as well? Would sure make my friends (and myself) happy since none of them have decks...

I could look into that actually

maybe have some bonus mixes or something.

There will definately be some cds produced....wether or not they will be included in the 'release' we havent really discussed.

Posted by GrimReaper on Sep-08-2003 21:17:

I would be glad for an official CD release too even if i have decks..

Posted by George Kendall on Sep-08-2003 21:27:

Yea...I was just saying to Nik over msn.

It'd be nice to have a cd release, but generally for a cd release it needs to be 'full scale release'

You're not going to get on the shelves at hmv with 300 cds...but you will with 300 vinyls. do you see what I'm saying?

whilst I'd love to see it, I dont think the 'scene' is strong enough to uphold sales of that scale especially for a small label.

There will be some cd-rs produced but its probable that this will be a vinyl only 'release' with CD-Rs made available from me or Dom.

Posted by GrimReaper on Sep-08-2003 21:45:

Yes, i could live with that.. if i would get a copy of the CD-Rs.

I've also noticed that many bigger labels (Hooj/Lost Language for example) have changed the official CD releases into CD-Rs, partly for the CDs not selling well enough and partly to make the "CD customers" happy by getting all the full length mixes on the CD of which the UK's 20 min "CIN rule" wouldn't allow on official releases.

I've been a CD addict about as long as a vinyl addict, i love both formats. They both have their advantages and disadvantages and IMO together they are better than if just concentrated on either one. That's why I'm feeling quite bad for the many labels' to almost stop releasing CDs.

Heh, good example is the CosmicMan - I Love You CDM with 7-8 mixes. The rumour around it started like 2 years ago and still no release and probably never will.. Vinyls only so far. I know vinyls do sell a bit better than CDs in the electronica scene but sometimes it gets just ridiculous. And a big tnx again for the UK for their FUUKIN STUPID CIN rules!!!

I'd be interested in a CD / CD-R with both "Remedy" and "Shattered Dreams" on it (bonus points if there are remixes, like a Greg Murray remix that was mentioned earlier). I understand that you'd like to get "Shattered Dreams" out before "Remedy", but both on a CD would be cool, especially for TAs like myself who don't have decks.

Let me know if something like this would be possible, I'd definetly buy a copy.

just wanted an update. I don't mean to keep harassing, but this track seems to fade away in the mind of others and forgotten. But i still have that demo and i think it's absolutely beautiful. if you are having trouble finding a label to release them, fuck that label 'cus it should be an instant sign for a track that is so graceful and peaceful. i would imagine this would've gotten a release already, as it surpasses the quality of other already famous dance music crusaders. well, that's all

Heh, so glad you still remember this.

The thing is that Expanse Recordings is merely starting up and things take their time. Also, with some delays regarding the remix of Shattered Dreams it has meant even further delays (the original track was done last May ffs).
Thankfully, things are progressing again and we should see a SD release soonish. After that we can focus on Remedy, which is actually in need of some updates anyway.

There has also been talk of doing Forever Forgotten 2004. And of course we have just finished a yet-to-be-named breaks track...
