wildon is the most decieving show...

honestly tell me which clubs u frequent.

we may all say that it was the best night ever cos we dont want to offend the DJs that spent time and effort doing their best ont he decks jsut to entertain us.

i wasnt there at the second party but system isnt my cup of tea as well yet i would go there anytime jsut to support talent i know...

if u had some constructive criticism, there are ways o saying it without being harsh about it. everyone is open to criticism

Hmm.... This maybe true. However, personally I based my judgment on other events like Tiesto @ Aria, Talla @ Viva, Armin @ Guverment, Corsten @ Guvernment, etc... When writing my review I consider such factors as
1) Free entrance into Systems!
2) great crowed, mostly TAs!
3) Room to dance!
4) Amazing DJ sets!
etc...

During that night systems was a fun, clean dance environment with great people and awesome music.

If picking up was your main priority then maybe you should have gone to another club?

for sure what i said was harsh... no doubt that every DJ out there is putting great effort into the magic of their music... but i still brought up some good point

an no, i don't fancy system much either, and no... clubs like those in wild on don't exist... except in my head... it was an exaggeration... but it still doesn't change the fact that friday night was 'just average' to me, and i'm not afraid of saying it

an event like this at... let say for argument sake, guv (great venue!) with blasting bass, flashing lights, and a lot more people would have made the night a hundred times better....

i think these are all reasonable demands that would classify a night as being extraordinary...

i never said anything about picking up, u'r all just putting words in my mouth now

if you really enjoyed friday night for all of the reasons you mentioned then perfect... you had fun and you had nothing to worry about

i just fancy a different kind of club...
first, i didn't get free entrance... which i am to blame for more than anything i guess (even though i was there before 11:30)... and secondly, to me it was a bit too much room to dance

i like going to clubs when you can't even walk through the crowd... when you have to stop every once in a while because you are running out of air... where you cant hear the person next to you but you are so close to them that you feel like a sardine

i dont want to sound like some elite club guru... because i'm not...

i have been to a few clubs in italy, and croatia and other euro countries... they weren't much better... i live in waterloo half of the year... the clubs there suck...

but once in a while... at any club... everything just comes together... good music, good people, good booze, good time

to me friday wasn't one of those nights and i think too many people are labelling it as so

ummmm... i can't say that i did
i came with my own group, and i haven't been TA'ing long enough to really feel confortable with just showing up and meeting a bunch of people i only know through a chatroom i've been on only two months

i mean... i'm not trying to insult anyone here... i consider myself a TA as much as anyone here, and i think you are all great people... i just dont know anyone THAT well enough

and i was in all rooms... the picture someone posted earlier in this thread... i was sitting down right in front of that booth in the seats right next to it for a few hours just enjoying a beer and listening to the music

Btw, I think Ive seen some Serbs from Waterloo that night. Do you following names sound familiar Dario Tepsic, Ivana, Vesna? Because I think I remember seeing Ivana, I think.

Posted by glog on Jul-07-2003 15:56:

Serbs from Waterloo you say? I only know a guy named Neven... he's a buddy from the basketball team... but yeah... i'd really like to meet more euro people at Waterloo... they're nowhere to be found...

i met a ton of russian friends there... i guess cause russians love math or something hehe

but i must have bumped into some of your serb friends too... u know how serbs and russians get along ;P

anyways nice to see another euro on these boards

-- edit --

no wait, shit... now that i think i heard a ton of people talking serbain
there was a big group in the main room right by the speaker pillar at the front right of the stage... tall guys too

It's unfortunate to hear that you didn't have an optimum night on Friday. I myself couldn't make it out, but I know that many of the TA's who did, enjoyed themselves immensely.

Personally, I think a HUGE factor that affects, (if not to completely determine), the outcome and quality of your night at such parties is who you're with. Now, you said you were with your own group and such, but keep in mind the big over-hanging theme of the night, in the VIP room: TA Invasion!!! (Don't get me wrong, I know it was for all to enjoy - rightfully so.)

I've partied solely with TA's, solely with non-TA's, and both together. Fun was had in all situations, but parties with TA's (with or without non-TA friends) have always been a blast for me. The music could've been sub-par, the rest of the crowd could've been listless, but the eminent TA vibe made everything sublime. I don't think every single trance party that has taken place has been amazing. (You had mentioned having a beef with people saying that.) When some people describe a seemingly not-so-great party as being 'amazing', I would say that they're focusing on the fun, vibe, and friends that made the crappy music or 45 degree weather seem a bit more insignificant.

Anyway, before I babble on more than need be, my point is that I think you should get to know some (more) TA's. Your view on and attitude towards partying (including parties like the one we're talking about) could very well change. I'm not telling you to change, but rathing encouraging you to get a taste of our (TA's) vibe. If you catch the bug, you'll understand all this babble of mine quite well.

No need to rush. Get to know the bunch at your own pace. Above all, HAVE FUN!!

GLOG:

I have to admit that the sound in the VIP room was horrid. It was so loud with no bass that it ended up giving me a headache.

2nd, this was a tranceaddict event, which does not necessarily mean trance music was played. I don't know about all the sets played after 1am, but before that there was NO trance played at all.

3rd, this event put on so that tranceaddict DJs can have a chance to spin in front of a crowd. Many are still ruff around the edges, hence the bad mixing at times. But don't go and compare bedroom DJs to a Tiesto at the Docks; it's like comparing apples and oranges. Both shows have different purposes.

4th, if you were primarliy concerned with having 'beautiful' people surrounding you I think you were at the wrong club Friday night. You should have been at the club across the street, Plastique. System's is not about looks, its about having a good time and meeting people you have something in common with and of course the music!

I suggest you check out a true trance party before you judge the TOTA's. Come by Afterlife on July 24 or better yet Viva on Aug 8 and you'll see what a real party is all about.

to me friday wasn't one of those nights and i think too many people are labelling it as so

for many of us,these things did come together. so you saying 'too many ppl labelling it as so' is way out of line. you should only be speaking for yourself. yes, ther were problems w/ sound and heat in the VIP room, but many of us had an amazing time regarless. if you were actually paying attention you would have realized that many of the DJ's were playing some really good tunes and there were many a tight mix!

you expect hot wastes teenagers? well teh age to get in is 19, so yeah, many of us are older than teenagers. most of teh ppl that i saw appeared to be in tehir 20's not their 40's, where trhe hell were you?

and ugly? i didn't see a whole lot of ugly ppl. in fact i saw a lot of super hot ppl:

like this:

and it just doesn't get better than this (i only look i don't touch!)

but anyway, it shows a tremendous lack of gratitude for you to be bitching about the night and comparing it to expensive productions like Tiesto, when john works his ass off to put on a night for us!

so if you didn't enjoy yourself that's fine, agood number of us did and are grateful that we have a night just for us to socialize and support our own.

that is all

I arrived at Systems at approximately 3:07am. I proceeded to the backroom where I found Del, and he then escorted me to the VIP room where I met a handful of TA's that I had not met previously. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you.

Make it out to both if you can, by all means, but you definitely have to stop by on August 8th. I've got a feeling the roof will totally be set ablaze on that night for sure.

if i'm still alive after the nike 10k run and the stones show... i'm prolly gonna come out to Viva on the 8th...
once again i'll say the same things as in my last few posts:

1. yes, the bass was nonexistant, mostly because the people working there were being jerks about it
2. i just used the word trance in general... i might as well have used the word "music"
3. i'm not bashing on TA DJ's... they did a great job and i'm sure if i got up there and tried to spin i would get boo'ed off... but... that shouldn't mean i should give them pity and say "best show i've ever been to". It's like sucking at t-ball and someone giving you a participation trophy... they all did a fantastic job, and i hope they keep spinning until they are truly amazing... but that doesn't mean they were flawless on friday night
4. i dont think any of us minds being surrounded by good looking people, but that wasn't even what i was saying... i just like seeing a crowd which is my age... just makes me feel more confortable and helps me relax

lats face it ;( i just want to have fun until i turn old and ugly

-- edit --

lol now u'r all just mindlessly bashing me because it seems to be the fun thing to do... i understand all the effort that was put into the show, but a few overlooked details would have made it all that better
