at ease people arguing on the internet is stoopid.. the thread should better be closed
running dog will eat you
this year is not the year for progressive house and trance over here in the U.K. People seem less interested in listening to progressive and more are into house ,D N B, hip hop and commercial cheese trance .
I must agree with reso about what hes trying to say about true genuine trance. I listen to all genres of electronic music, that is Trance, House, Prog, Hard House , hard trance, Dnb, Breakbeats, you name it. Me being a listener of all these genres and also loving all of them must agree that there hasnt been anything innovative in any of the genres other than progressive... Also id say hard house and its sub-genres are doing well, but I havnt really been impressed in any way with the trance productions i've been seeing or anything that appeals to me much. I also see an upcoming trend in techno coming up in america. At least in Miami i'd say.

Music is opinionated, some like progressing beats, others like buidups and breakdowns, does it matter which is better?? Prog heads are a bunch of snobs, u ma fuckas talk shit online, but in reality y'all just looking for a way to make yourselves feel better... Who gives a damn whats cheesy or not, Quality and sound varies from person to person.... Listen to music because you like it period.
progressive is a state of mind you idiots. progressive tracks dont have plasticky synth buildups and 10 year old drum rolls. thats all been done millions of times over.
progressive is, by definition, the future. music progresses and evolves, and thats what progressive music is all about.

this gets boring.. dont start this lame threads anymore plz.
Its the year of good music like every other fucking year. I've heard a fuckload of good prog, dnb, breaks, trance, house out this year and who gives a toss? Just enjoy the music. 2003 the year of prog? More like 2003 is the year of elitism.

| Originally posted by chris_norris I totally agree, what are some of these progheads in this thread playing at? Get down from your prog cool club and back to reality; each person likes different things, what one person likes is not less mature or complex than what another person likes you bunch of cocks. Who are you to say that a piece of music that one person adores (i.e a trance tune) is not as deep, meaningful, complex and mature as what you like (i.e a prog tune)? I think it's down to opinion, not neccesarily all this maturity and understanding at all! Says who? You? And who are you? Come back when you've got a clue. These threads are really annoying, I dont see why a fan of a genre that has relativley close links with another genre can have so little respect... |

| Originally posted by muzak when i say progressive is the future trancers get their panties in a twist. keep in mind the progressive music of today wont sound like the prog music of tommorow. all of you dont like prog house, thats fine. music has to evolve though, and progress. when music does this, its generally refered to as progressive. so whether any of us like it or not, progressive is the future. |

Agree. Proggheads should start their own website and stop knocking Trance. This is the best year for trance since 1999; I can't believe people would knock this shit for progg of all genres |
I'll keep my ass firmly planted on the fence here by choosing not to side with either trance or prog but im curious to know what the prog-heads think of the change of direction of Bedrock (surely one of the leading labels in the Genre - co-owned by Diggers himself). Word on the street says that when they return in October they'll be moving in a tech-housey direction and although certain prog DJs may still get bookings left, right and centre - a lot of the big names are struggling. Bigroom super-clubs aren't doing too well in Britain and when i've witnessed prog sets in more intimate venues, it's the housier stuff that gets people moving and the epic prog of old is less viable in today's club scene. Or perhaps that's just in the UK.
Please discuss.
Oh, and would someone care to draw a line between where proggy trance stops and trancey prog begins?
