WTF is wrong with people... I seriously dont understand... Usually DJ's play songs not for themselves, but for, YOU, the people in the club... Connected, Time of our lives, and Crush happen to be crowd favorites, why cant a DJ play songs that people like to hear. And who cares when he plays them, wtf is the difference. Some of you people need to seriously get your head out of your asses.

People that bash DJ's for what they play, need to learn to appreciate the music. Dont read too much into that, its meant the way its said. Some of you are fugazzie tranceaddicts.

tru dat man.

btw..wtf is "fugazzie" lol

After Nu-NRG was finished I was completely out of NRG to do anything else for the night. I was compelled to leave, my eyes were tired from all the lights and my feet just couldnt hold my weight anymore, but out of respect to the music and Victor I stayed in that club until it fuckin closed, and I enjoyed every second of every beat that Vic threw down. Admiration, respect, and love comes from my heart to the songs playing and whoever is playing them.

Best song Vic threw down: Pulser - My Religion, last song of the night!

if you're gonna tell someone to fuck off, at least follow it up with a coherent sentence... i apologize for having my own opinion of Edgarp'V'd

Posted by umes23 on Aug-26-2003 07:02:

well considering u have a pvd pic and are lost in vanditland, i bet if you were spinning a set before one of vandit's prized possessions,u would probably be playing his shit too. only question is whether or not pvd gives enough of a shit about you to hand out (and also trust u to not leak out to the world) his really new tracks!

w/edgar v, that is obviously the case...he opens half his sets in north america and then you see him dancing to pvd just like any of you guys (or me).... edgar likes paul, paul likes edgar....paul's music is great, edgar knows it, and has the relationship with pvd to be able to get his hands on it. let him play it, and let people appreciate it! edgar does, i respect him for that. he has good taste. and he is certainly not a pvd clone of any kind, he has his own well defined style.... im glad that he also likes pvd's productions. its not a bad thing.

listen buddy. in this board we all like trance, so of course we all are going to know the tunes ect. I was backing someone up when someone, said a rude comment. For me, it;'s not just about crowd favorites, it's about flow and style. I can't get into every dj or every style.
This is a big problem now because a lot of djs just play anthems, because they are "crowd favorites." I can't see how someone playing three new pvd tunes in a row except pvd is original??? I know the djs play the tunes for us the punters and I apreciate it more when they have their own style, and don't play a bunch of anthems. No my head is not up my ass thank you very much. I enjoy my music plenty.

i dunno if this was in response to what i just wrote. im hoping not, cause i hate continuous debate. lemme just say one thing in response to this- edgar's style IS original. edgar playing three pvd songs is not original, nobody is claiming that it is. but think about the situation, and think about the scene. it was a house full of pvd fans.... nu nrg were coming on soon, great talent that pvd has been bringing out to the world. there was a feeling there that night for pvd, nu nrg and vandit fans. i felt it, obviously edgar did too. jesus, maybe he was almost as excited as all of us were to hear the nu nrg set. does it not seem obvious to you that he would play music from the mastermind behind it all. obviously, nu nrg are very proud vandit artists. that means, much respect to pvd, the one who started this thing up.... i think if i was there spinning, i too would have dropped a couple pvd tracks. not to be like him, not to steal his glory, and not to mimick his style. just for pure pvd appreciation. but that's me.....

peace.

flow and style is important.... this was a NU NRG night. and any one who knows them, knows vandit and pvd. hitting the moment is just as important as anything else. vandit music was appropriate, and it wasnt played to the point that it was all we heard. it was three out of what??? a lot more tracks!

Hey guys!
Well, I'm finally back from the Big Apple and at a computer again. It was great to meet so many new TA's, and see some familiar faces. Sorry I missed the dinner, but I had dinner w/my own friends in NY and that didnt get started til later than expected, so I couldnt even come late to the meetup.

Edgar played a great set. This argument over playing PVD tracks b4 he gets there is freaking ridiculous. PVD is obviously playing them in other cities, and Edgar dropped a couple of those when he played here in Toronto- to say that no one but PVD has the right to play those tunes within a certain time frame is retarded. It would not be proper to do that if he were opening for PVD, but this is not the case. Notice how he didn't play any Nu-NRG tracks b4 they went on? That's courtesy- and it need not apply to PVD's arrival 5 days later.

Nu-NRG- the reason for my long drive to NY... and I'm SO glad I found a shop to make me my custom shirt last second! I was gonna cry if I had to go to the show without it. "Il silenzio e rotto da Nu-NRG". It took a while to get them to notice it, but when they did, the look on their faces was priceless! I really enjoyed the set, but wish it was a little more banging. I nearly DIED when the set ended, and they hadn't played "Take Your Air". SOOOOO disappointed!!!! (Had Edgar known, he could've dropped that track if they weren't gonna!) Didn't they know I drove down from Canada JUST to hear that song??? They owe me next time!!! Now all I need is to see Chicane live, and I can die happy.

Victor Dinaire- heard so much about this guy, and finally got to hear him. He did not disappoint!!! Bangin! Stayed til the end and enjoyed every minute of it.

ARC- looks better since my last visit in Dec. No smoking inside NY clubs now too?!?! Kinda cool since I dont smoke, and didnt come home smelling like an ashtray, but I also feel bad for the smokers. At least they'll end up smoking less.

That nutty Irishman causing the ruckus was my bf Graham. He definitely was the life of the party! Thanks to everyone who joined in on his chants with him. "Oi! Oi! Oi fuckin Oi!" lol.

And yeah, that messed up couple in the back room were gross.
So glad the bouncers put a stop to that.

Time for bed- falling asleep at the screen....

Posted by Vlad on Aug-26-2003 07:27:

I KNEW IT! He was Irish! He whispered something in my ear, but I couldnt understand a single word, the english was so broken and he was so drunk, LOL.

If I was in Vic's shoes, I would have kept the Nu-NRG vibe going and would have started the set with Butterfly or The moon loves the sun or Take your air or anything Nu-NRG... I'd love to see the look on their faces if Vic would have opened with a Nu-NRG track.

WORD!!!!

hehe i was standing next to you through the entire nu nrg set by the way... i remember you showing them your shirt (even i didnt notice till you got them too). by the way, my friend dom and i were screaming for take your air all night (and they definitely heard when we screamed). when i screamed supersonic as the tune came in, they smiled like crazy. so humble!! and.... my friend and i were screaming out the tune of eternal, as in the part that nu nrg added to the original tune, he actually gestured us to be louder, and then used his crazy finger touchpad thing and filtered that shit out like crazy!!!! haha it was hilarious. not that i think my screaming is worth hearing over their live music.... i just loved the interaction and the humility of these guys. very cool!
i for carerra via text. oh well. still kicked my ass!

The whole bit with Nu-NRG, I dont think they had the song programmed into their stuff, which sucks.

I wanted to hear Marinero and The moon loves the sun, omg, death.

Posted by sym on Aug-26-2003 09:03:

Hey everyone been busy and haven't gotten to post my review so here it is...

Edgar V set had no structure or flow. There were moments were he got me really pumped up and moving, but most of the time I wasn't enjoying it, I even caught myself yawning at points. Towards the end I was enjoying it more, maybe it was just the 3 pvd songs talking. And his last song was pretty cool I wish I had an ID.

Nu NRG = OWN

I've never been to a PA before and I must admit it was pretty nuts, I was in the dead center up there (wearing the blue mustang records shirt ) and I seriously was very impressed. I love NU NRG and their productions, and they exceeded all of my expectations with this performance. They are deginitely not to be missed next time they come around. Highlight for me was Dreamland and Pure Thrust.

Victor Dinaire-

First time hearing you live man you were great. Didn't get to stay for the whole set I was dying of hunger and my friend wanted to leave. I left a few songs after dirty sticky floors. But this set was great and in my opinion much better than Edgar's, so props to you for out doing a much more well known DJ in my eyes . I'll definitely be coming out to see you next time you're spinnin'

Didn't get to meet any TA's this time. So far I've only met a few which sucks since I don't even know what half you guys look like so say hi next time. That's me in my avatar And Vlad where the fuck were you, I was lookin for you can't believe I didn't see you.

Everyone have fun at PvD, I can't go my parents scheduled me for defensive driving classes and won't let me get out of it even thought I told them I had something to do the 28th

See you guys on the 13th for Marco V/J00F

ok hun, like everyone is saying, diff peeps like diff dj's..every dj cannot please everyone, since everyone has there own opinion....but please, out of respect, tranceaddict is a form of media for dj's...the likes of armin, ferry, edgar v, victor dinaire, dave dresden etc etc, comes in here and read what "there fans" has to say about them...so like i said, out of respect, have the "bashing" to a minimum .....you dont have to say "he stinks", "he sucks" ....what is wrong with saying, "edgar , in my opinion, had a bad night last night"?

together...yes to drinking...yes to alcohol...yes to SLEEP (finally)

I was reading this forum and I couldn't help but reply to your post. In regards to Edgar playing Paul's new stuff...well Paul gives Edgar all his new stuff way before it hits the internet or stores for the simple purpose of palying it. Paul and Edgar happen to be friends who work together under the same booking agent. So please before you "hate" on Edgar even though you say you're not make sure you get your facts straight.
