Well this is just crap

M.I.K.E IS SHITE IMO

After he done making 2723858973445 mixes that sounds the same , he makes a vocal version for main stream bullshit...

$$$$ is good , so enjoy it

Posted by Scorchio on Sep-05-2003 12:01:

OMG, The vocals are totally cheesy and they overshade the great melody, you can barely hear the track.

Shame On M.I.K.E.

so for making a comercial tune, becomes shit? yeah putting vocals on top of a good tune is very bad, but what's the problem in winning a few ?

Plastic Boy - Silverbath
Exposure - Magic Impuls
The Gift - Love Angel (both mixes)
Calling The Freak - Your Time Is Up
Musix - Cyber Desire
Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown
Mr. Sam vs. Fred Baker - Forever Waiting (M.I.K.E. Remix)
Intimo - Retention
M.I.K.E. - Turn Out The Lights
M.I.K.E. - Sunrise at Palamos
M.I.K.E. - Someone Somewhere
Return of the Native - Morphosis
Plastic Boy - Dahab
Calling the Freak - Suck My Soul
M.I.K.E. vs. John '00' Fleming - Ice Cream (all 3 mixes)
The Gift - Seventh Day
Mass Effect - Alphascan
Virtua Trancer - Sex After Dinner
Absolute - Stereo Sex / Mono Sex

listen to some of these 'that sound all the same' then come back ok?

No problam , money is good but you can say it every time and every goddamn tune of his got the same beat and bass and like grr he's not doing much affort and by making 282357844 mixes he gets a lot of money

So every cheese track that a good artist make u gonna say - what's worng about making a bit of money that's ok but still CHEESE!

I am very skeptical to this vocal version myself, but after all Rozalla is one of the big house divas from the early 90s, so it's no wonder that he wouldn't like to give it a go (even tho what she did with Aquagen was repulsive enuff,I assume MIKE hasn't heard that).

No offense Mosh, but MIKE is far from your average cheese producer. I agree that lately a good deal of his work has been lazily produced:

Like that for instance. But if you actually bothered to listen to those tracks paranoiko listed(cos I don't think you have,at least not the more minimal, dark stuff like Mass Effect,Return Of The Native,Blackmaster or Absolute),you'll find out that he's a very talented artist, with more versatility than most of his collegues. And adding vocals to a track doesn't necessarily have to mean disaster (Cass & Slide - Perception is a good example of that IMO), but I'll admit that I have a hard time envisioning vocals on top of a track like Live Another Life.

1. he is asked a million times to do a remix --> very little time in which to do so
2. he agrees to do so much remixes, because he needs money to survive (today it is impossible to do one remix and be a millionaire)
3. people expect to hear a certain sound when they ask for a 'push remix'

3 reasons why his remixes are pretty similar

when it comes to own material:

quote:
Mostly has the same beat and bass and its almost the same

silver bath vs. morphosis vs. arctic cat vs. turn the lights off vs. ...

i can't see any similarities here

some of his work under a certain alias are alike, but that's because when people see this particular alias they think of a certain sound.. that's why journey of life is similar to i.e. tranzy state of mind, because generally people expect that

suppose he released alphascan under his 'push' alias.. everybody would be like 'wtf?! what's this?'

Posted by m0sh on Sep-05-2003 12:59:

SL I havn't heard all the tracks there but I heard quite a few that u can hear the mike sound that doesn't change

even if he didn't its still crap and cheesy shite.

Like I said before vocals can be good ,but when u take a good track (not to keen with this) and add vocals to him to make money that pure cheese

this song is all fuct up...

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Sep-06-2003 06:24:

well, this is pretty repulsive stuff, in the proud tradition of Aquagen - Everybody's Free...what fucking crappy vocals, badly mixed in, drowning out what could be a perfectly awesome melody. I can't believe any self-respecting DJ would drop this trainwreck and I REALLY don't want to believe that Mike actually authorised this. It's tracks like these that cause so many people to believe that trance sucks. and i agree with what was said before, too bad there isn't a puking emoticon.

mike should be bitchslapped as punishment for this. and as for dave pearce, he needs to be shot.

Posted by Dark Apostle on Sep-06-2003 13:45:

OMG this is so bad that it almost becomes funny. There are ppl who would love this, the peeps who love Milk Inc, Sylver, Lasgo and stuff.
I hope that if MIKE going to release this track version, he's going to have it properly mixed. And I don't mind that vocals are being put on tracks, as long I don't have to listen to it

*Plays the original* aaaah much better

Posted by Lytchix on Sep-06-2003 14:37:

That vocal version wasn't necessary...

Posted by erdega on Oct-05-2003 17:37:

Actually there are 2 vocal versions and 12" vocal is preety good. Has grown on me, I like it even more than the original instrumental version.

They don't have custom status for a reason.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Oct-05-2003 18:38:

the vocals ruined an excellent M.I.K.E production by a longshot IMHO

Hey look there are 2 vocal versions, one posted on this thread is not good. The one I have is 12" vocal and it has some vocals but less so than the other one. It's not a perfect production but it's good enough. I am not ashamed to say it grown on me or if anybody has problem with it. It probably won't last but I like it for now.

Posted by Mellow Yellow on Oct-05-2003 19:05:

Thumbs down

a good track ruined.

Posted by Hequn on Oct-05-2003 19:51:

i dont fancy throwing up so im gonna leave this were it is and please dont start bashing MIKE, if you dont like it say you dont and leave it at that. some people think hes a one trick pony but if you think that say it then leave it, simple, some people like his style so if they hear it a lot in slightly different styles its great for them and me!

Posted by TOR on Oct-05-2003 19:55:

for the record, this version was NOT done by m.i.k.e.!!

there will be a vocal version, but the one erdega is talking about was released by Inferno WITHOUT mike's authorisation..

It's plastic boy but it's not important who made it to me. It's not a bad tune to me, if you think it is, that's your own thing. Don't expect me to change my opinion because it's unpopular. I am not like that
