I am really digging Stouts/Dark Ales right now. My favourite stout would have to be St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout. I highly reccomend this dark and strong flavoured stout to any stout fan.

Hehehe, was it a tall-boy you shared with me, DA?

(Actually, to tell truth, I'm not a fan of Canadian in tall-boys. Monlson Canadian, IMO, is best enjoyed from a bottle.

If you didn't have a bottle, we'll hafta make sure you do next time you're in town w/ me man!

Import: Corona!

OF COURSE! Hahaha

Anyone notice a big difference in taste between Carlsberg here at the LCBO/Beer Store and Carlsberg from Europe??

The one here tastes like ass.

...cause corona is such an import

For me it's Heineken in the winter, and Corona in the summer...

For anyone looking to try something new I highly recommend Bavaria from Holland. It is not the Marca Bavaria from brazil...
it comes in a green bottle and is extremely tasty!

Yea! Carlsberg in Germany and Israel tasted a little different that than which I picked up here.

I assume that since they are bottled/brewed in different places, the taste will be slightly different due to environmental factors. Most "import" beer is in fact brewed on the continent.

Posted by Yohan on Mar-05-2006 03:13:

Domestic: Keiths

Imported: Guinness

When I go to BenB, I'm going to really try to get to Dieu du Ciel. Their Aphrodisiaque sounds like something I'd enjoy.

Beer for me:

Canadian:
(this made my mouth water)

(Preferably from taps)
Import:
Stella
Guinness <-- really only since I tried it in Ireland w/ Tordan last summer. I never liked it at all until we went to the guinness factory and it was DAMN GOOD!!! Guinness here in Canada still doesnt compare.

Also, Black & Tan, with Keiths & Guinness way to mix my two favourite. That was the pint of the summer last year for me

check it out here: http://www.dieuduciel.com/
...it's not THAT far from palais des congres. Maybe a 10$ cad ribe or a 15 min metro ride.

Also check out these brew pubs in MTL if you get the chance (all located downtown):
Brutopia (Crescent)
Les 3 Brasseurs (various locations: St-Denis, Ste-Catherine)
Reservoir (Duluth and St-Laurent)
L'Amere a boire (St-Denis)
Cheval Blanc (Ontario off St-denis)

so many good ones!
