Why do so many people have to write essays on this topic, a simple paragraph at most is more then enough..EXAMPLE
G&D aren't getting commercial at all. 98% of the productions are more then worth listening to, which is not common.Besides they havent done any coca cola commercials yet anyway..(tiesto is still the man) and about pop music remixes, Markus Schulz remix of "Stand" by Jewel is insane, he isnt turning into a popstar either.

Gabriel and Dresden rule....imo the Britney song was probably dave trying to strike it up with Britney lol, he loves the chicks and I don't blame em. Remember his interview with Armin. "What I like best about Holland is the females" LOL At a boy Dave.

HaHa, must agree with you OT. Most of their stuff you can listen to, enjoy and get your party on, so what is the problem again. Maybe I should capture some of you guys, put you in a dark, rat infested room and make you listen to Scooter for 24hrs straight, then you will appreciate quality music.

Posted by Clyde77 on Nov-06-2003 19:36:

so conclusion:

its okay cuz it was g&d who remixed britney

what if it was armin? or tiesto or ferry? hmmmmmmm jsut athought

Traveling from the depths of pure emotional euphoric dance to complete tasteless garbage...sad to see these guys going into a downward spiral

You have seen the light. This is what happens when you do too many remixes, you tend to lose focus on your sound. Original productions also suffer as a result. Too many remixes, not enough time.

I hate to say it, but I saw it coming.... last year.

oh man
how wrong could you guys be

they are only getting better and better
Sarah McLachlan - Falling(fallen?) (G&D remix) is so melodic and beautiful

so much flame for one remix simply because it was britney. I thought it was a banging track

Posted by davedresden on Nov-07-2003 06:37:

hey britney, you say you want to lose control?

come over here, i have something to show you...

Amen. You ain't lying, Britney is fine. But a dub is needed! Funky as hell but I can't wait for Sarah Mclachlan!

i have yet to hear. cannot wait.

seriously people show some respect, not every artists produces the same tracks all the time, producers try something out, and sometimes you like it and sometimes you dont like it,
G&d are remixing britney so what? let them if you dont like it you dont have to listen...

Posted by dark_tenshi on Nov-07-2003 08:04:

Give the G&D boys a break. They've remixed a lot of tracks this year. It's impossible to make everyone of them an instant hit.

Given the amount of songs/styles they have remixed, I can boldly say that I still find their remixes/production entertaining.

I look forward for so much more from them. Respect.

Smiley DJ

I dont know how some of you have the audacity to challenge these guys like that, its about music and working with different genres, very arrogant behavior..kudos to G&D on their work and hoping for you guys to come back to arc once more

Posted by harcourt on Nov-07-2003 20:13:

For those of you ripping on G&D about $$$ and what you define as "selling out", get a clue. Most of the remixes of commercial tunes they do, they do for themselves, because they wanted to. Not because the label commissioned them to do a remix. Maybe they do in the end (receive money) but the intent and intial idea came from the love of making music and taking one good tune or parts of it and turning that into something they like.

Take a listen to the ASOT rip with G&D playing their material that will never see the light of day (some of it won't anyway). They play it and talk about how it became what it is. You'll clearly see that it's not all about the $$$.

I think every one of their tunes rules, just heard the Britney tune, nicely done IMO.

Losing steam? Please.

2003 has been a HUGE year for them, the eseential mix alone was incredible but then you bring in their produtions together & solo projects each are working on....

Not to mention that they entered the top 100 at 42.

I'd say they are gaining steam if anythying.

I have to Agree I actually Ignore Morons that just hate and hate and talk without knowing what they talkin about... And I am sure most of them arnt into the proggy Sound that G&D give us

Posted by DJ Freestyle on Nov-07-2003 22:40:

I just hope they can continue to make some decent remixes instead of all these so called "cash-ins". Can't blame them, I would do a few pop remixes. Maybe not as many and definately not Spears or Jewel.

hmmm actually you made think for a second there. that's true, i realize sometimes could have a bit more respect for the producers. after all, i may not like most of g&d's tracks but they are all certainly a lot better than my fruityloops crap .

just a bit concerned that they are taking progressive into something more comercial than it is. dramatizing a bit, they could damage the prog scene like alice deejay and ian van dahl damaged the trance scene. of course they're nearly not as cheesy as alice deejay/ian van dahl. i just fear they're inventing 'popgressive'.

there's also another aspect that i don't like in their music - the overusing of vocals. when was the last time they came up with a solid instrumental track?
