I had an awesome time. Such a shame there wasn't many people and we had to close early again
Matt Darey played some awesome tracks, played some weird tracks too that I didn't think really flowed, but anyway that's just my opinion!
I had a great time as per usual. I loved matts setand seeing how i like a bit of hard trance now and again i really got into it in a big way.
I loved the old tracks i had not heard out in a long time. So many memories
Had fun dancing in front of you all on stage
and yes his girlfriend was HOT!
All up top bloke, top night for me and great music as per usual.
p.s. Nitromethane- Time to die rocked my world!!!

Originally posted by hugoboss Sorry to be pedantic, but did Matt Darey actually produce Li Kwan - Point Zero? My record says it was written & produced by P. Austin. I thought Matt Darey only did the cover version: Matt Darey presents DSP - From Russia With Love. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm just glad someone made it. I couldn't make it to Altitude last weekend unfortunately but looking at Matt Darey's tracklisting it doesn't really look like it was quite my kinda trance anyway, other than a handfull of tracks. Good to see most people had fun though, and props to the Altitude (Halcyon) crew for bringing out a big name International.

Originally posted by muli hmmm im not sure, i thought it wasnt, but then read it was him behind Li Kwan..... but when you think about it, it sounds NOTHING like his other productions, so i dunno
I got my Seaman Cbr tix long before Matt Darey was announced and went to that instead. Had a good time but am sure would have had a better one at Gas. I'd heard that Matt likes to play harder sets
but think would have been worth it just to hear Beautiful,Gamemaster etc by the man himself, plus I missed hanging out with all the Ta's. Cbr is my home town but did not quite feel at home, remember saying to Alli there's only 4 ta's here and two of them are us.

funny story...
matt was saying how his first song he made got pressed... like an unknown song... ands how it got doen was he was in a meeting with some record company playign the song, and as it was playign the head ceo of the company rang from NYC and heard it in the background, anyway he loved it and signed them up, gave them all this money and then matt said he and his mate spent all the money on shit.. they dont know where it went haha and it didnt work out.... to quote him "we spent more money then we had" haha

Darey was top notch .. who's complaining?... I'm not a huge wrap for internationals but Darey & Pulser changed my opinion somewhat, and both are damn nice guys....
... & he aint the only one that's spent more money that what he has.... my latest hobby is confiscating credit cards!!

Originally posted by Dj_Psygnosis Seriously it's not even funny...i find it slack that a record company would do this to him. and djway, Wax said most parts of it but he had to use the psudonym Paul Austin for legal reasons. Also he didn't even get any money for Lost Tribe Distant voices...
i think you guys read it wrong.
Cam said they got signed up cause the CEO heard it over the phone, then matt darey and his mate were stupid and spent all the money plus more on stupid shit.
oh my story was a random story it wasnt about li kwan, it was about a track he done before that... with no official release.... he done some tracks with a high school mate.. and they got like 100 copies pressed with their own money...... i dont think my story was about li kwan
Cam i think you heard Matt Darey wrong, the track "Overdose" was the one the CEO heard on the phone...
He needed money after the bad deal he had with Overdose so he made Li Kwan - Point Zero and Li Kwan - I Need a Man...another bad record deal.
EDIT:
Ok that seems right now
i dunno this is what he told me at nova last weekend.. maybe i heard wrong.. but he said he got all this money for it but it flopped and they were broke and put it behind them. then his mate left to go to come here for a holiday and while he was away matt worked by himself to make his new tracks i duno.

Originally posted by Dj_Psygnosis Uhh here we go, and you call yourself a tranceaddict... Li Kwan was made entirely my Matt Darey, the record company at that time did not give credit to him for reason which i don't think you would actually understand fully. Matt Darey made the song but got NOTHING for it Matt Darey done a cover version, hah don't make me laugh. Matt Dareys creativity will surprise you.

Originally posted by hugoboss No need for the attitude mate, you don't expect all of us to know Matt Darey's life story do you? I think you'll find most people don't. I also find it an insult that you question my intelligence and whether I deserve to be a tranceaddict. Do you even know me? That's not only an insult to me but to most of us on here. I simply found it odd hearing that Matt Darey produced "Point Zero" when the label on my record credited it to a P.Austin, plus the fact that it sounds quite different to anything else he has made. Was I supposed to know Paul Austin was a pseudonym? Do you also know all of M.I.K.E.'s pseudonyms? I am not surprised by Matt's creativity either, but I do think it was lacking a little when he made Gamemaster. Even though I like it, I think he must have been listening to Quench - Dreams at the time.
but i would have expected whoever is gonna throw themselves in this kind of situation would know a fair idea of what they are talking about(talking about your previous post)
