Well you could try a fucking kit kat bar and die on the spot from being allergic to some fucked up type of sugar found in the chocolat.

This is what you should say in your defense: "I'm a huge boron loser". LMAO Sorry man, it's late and for some reason that was funny for me. And even I could just backspace (not even have to edit) I just won't. Cuz it's still cracking me up. YAY coca plants.

die on the spot from a kit kat bar? Come ooooooooooooooon man.......you sound worse than my friend. Comparing a chocolate bar (something that is MADE to be eaten) to chemical drugs makes no sense at all. You can be allergically screened for harmful substances....such as eggs, chocolate, milk, cat hair, etc....but they can't screen you and decide whether you'll die if you take E or not. That's a huge difference and I think you damn well know it.

Apply that to E or any other "chemically made" drug. I mean with both points you can do that. 1. You trust weed and alcohol because you know you're smart about it etc etc, I see nothing wrong with people doing E if they are smart and do their homework about it (and in moderation).

2. All it takes is one time with chemical drugs and you could die.
I could say the same thing from doing shrooms or drinking beer or smoking cigarettes (which you do).

I've never done E, don't know if I ever will, but my point is why are you blowing things out of proportion?

I'm not blowing things out of proportion....I'm just sick of the attitude on here and that some of my friends have that E and other chemical drugs are 100% safe. What people should be saying is that "It's risky but worth it to me", not "you have more chance of dying from eating a chocolate bar" or something stupid like that.

Posted by jon jon on Nov-12-2003 10:10:

dude I was just being stupid, don't you think I quasi discredited myself by writing what I wrote post argument. haha BORON LOSER. haha what the hell is that.

LMAO!

Posted by monishb on Nov-12-2003 10:12:

The way i look at it is , all of them are drugs(dont flame)

They are all toxifyin your body, Alchohol and weed has short term effects where E and cocaine etc have a little long term effects, not saying weed is safer, i guess in the end they all fall under the category drugs.lol

You as the end user decides, whether or not you want to use in moderation or excess, nobody tells you to use them or its not a fashion statement to do so, but i think more likely whatever you do in moderation is fine, but i have have done E never will , and i dont even smoke joints, i only do it once in 6 months or something , because i cant even take that.

Smoking will also kill you but slowly, whereas excess alchy will also kill you if you are heavy drinker

EITHER WAY! ITS ALL BAD FOR YA!

Posted by jon jon on Nov-12-2003 10:14:

I bet you'll never look at a kit-kat bar the same ever again. LOL

Re: Re: A question...

you are NOT listening to what she is saying. there are things that come from the earth that are harmful and poisonous (ie poisonous toadstools). also, look at the food that you eat that comes from a package and look at the label. wat do you see on there? you will often find that may of the foods that we eat have chemicals in them.

i am not saying that ppl should do chemical drugs i am just pointing out how flawed and void of fact any of your arguments are. You are truly talking out of your ass.

and as for you saying that chemical drugs are a leading cause of death. where are your statistics? alcohol causes more deaths than MDMA- you atleast must know that.
where exactly are chemical drugs on this list of the top causes of death in the US?

Rank1 Causes of death Number Deaths per
100,000 population
All causes 2,417,798 849.0
1. Diseases of heart 699,697 245.7
2. Malignant neoplasms (cancer) 553,251 194.3
3. Cerebrovascular diseases 163,601 57.4
4. Chronic lower respiratory diseases 123,974 43.5
5. Accidents (unintentional injuries) 97,707 34.3
6. Diabetes mellitus 71,252 25.0
7. Influenza and pneumonia 62,123 21.8
8. Alzheimer's disease 53,679 18.8
9. Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis 39,661 13.9
10. Septicemia 32,275 11.3
11. Suicide 29,423 10.3
12. Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis 26,751 9.4
13. Homicide 19,727 6.9
14. Hypertension and hypertensive renal disease 19,054 6.7
15. Pneumonitis due to solids and liquids 17,392 6.1
All other causes 408,231 143.3

and, finally. the guy that you were talking about that had to have an ambulance come..you have no idea what that guy was on, unless you know him. you can't say what he had mixed together or what types of medications he was on. do you really think that he droped one pill and that it caused all of that?

so do some reserach on death related to mdma use for teh love of god, and then come back and tell us something.

People overdose on chemical drugs all the the time...it's one of the leading killers, not THE leading killer, but one of them. When I did E the first time, I got it off my friend who does it all the time.....he's one of the people I mentioned that will sit there all day and tell you how nothing can go wrong, yadda yadda. He says he got if off his dealer.....how the fuck do I know who his dealer is....how do I know what is being put into the pill? Come on...you can blindly trust people all you want, but I'm not into that.

I was at the Bachus Lounge in London in October of 2002. It was a Goldclub sponsored night, but I forget who was spinning...some local guy that played a lot of shitty progressive. Anyway, this guy at the front was obviously whacked on E and I saw him, first hand, have a seizure...he was shaking all over and frothing from the mouth...his eyes were bulging....it was fucking scary. The ambulance came and he ended up being ok, but seeing that first hand made me decide I will never try those drugs again.

no one has said that they are 100% safe. not one person has said that. very little is 100% safe. as I have mentioned in all my posts. You are in no position to talk about how safe it is b/c you have done no research about it.

Tsk, I warned people about this guy... don'tchas trust my radar yet?

I'd love for someone to actually attempt to medically define the word "drug." I think what everybody's trying to say here is, what is so bad about chemical substances that [very slowly] destroy our brain, when we ingest chemical substances that destroy our bodies every day?

Hmm sounds very tempting, anyone else have any take on this, or better yet, has anyone tried it yet???

This is quite interesting. Has anyone ever actually tried doing acid and E at the same time. I think that would be really weird.

myfriend in NYC have done it...refered to as 'candy flipping' it sounds a little intense.

Nobody knows what the long term effects of doing recreational drugs like E is on the human brain...

Just take care guys thats all! You've all seen the dancedafe.com (i think) slide show about possible MDMA neurotixicity and so on..

I don't need to do homework (I have enough of that already)....there is enough information out there in the media about how drugs like that can be lethal. I've done E myself and I know what's it all about so at least I do have experience that way.

But your causes of death argument is irrelevant....obviously people die from those causes....they have since the beginning of time (heart disease, cancer, suicide, etc) Sure, alcohol kills more people, but that's because people drink really fucking irresponsibly sometimes (I mean 20+ beers in 3 hours, stupid shit like that that I've seen at frat parties and such). But if you drink like a person with a brain, the most that will ever happen to you is you might puke (which I'm sure everyone has gone through ). But you can be as responsible as you want with something like E and it can still kill you.

But whatever....I'm just arguing my opinion. This is just a friendly debate....is it not?

you aren't citing anything tho. the 'media' is vague term. If you have done e yourself i would have though that you would have atleast discovered what it was ad n what it does while in your body/how it wokrs. the 'media' sometimes reports about studies that are designed to show ill- effects of e, but are not conclusive. like lab tests on rats that were given the equivalentg to 10 or 20 pills every day for a month. or by saying that teh cause of death was e when it was other things (for example the leah betts case- she dies from overdosing on water). ther is also a lot of misinformation in teh media (is e drains your spinal fluid). you obviously knwo little about this, which is what makes agusing w/ you so annoying. you just keep coming back w/ nothing. you don't seem to really read or understand or consider what anyone else is writing.

and how was my citaion of teh leading killers irelavanet. you said 'illegal drugs were a leading cause of death and you were incorrect.

give me some proof of this. where is your info cming from that is inforing this?

"But you can be as responsible as you want with something like E and it can still kill you."

E cannot kill you on its own. As (many, MANY) others have said before me, it is usually due to a synergistic interaction between other factors, such as drinking excessive water or excessive heat or mixing with other drugs or alcohol.
Check out this link for more deets:
http://www.thegooddrugsguide.com/ecstasy/dangers.htm

And it kinda doesn't sound like you're just arguing. But that's just me. Whatever...
Research is key for anything you decide to ingest these days, whether it's drugs, alcohol or even just your run-of-the-mill household products and food. And that's the end of my little story.

Oh, and one more thing. In case you don't feel like doing MORE homework, since it sounds like you've done SO much already, this is what the link that I posted says, in a nutshell:
"The current rate is 7 deaths per million users per year (connected to Ecstasy use). More people die fishing or eating peanuts."

That is all.

I am unaware of any strictly "E" deaths locally. Any death attributed to "E" in local media are claimed as "E" related cause the kid ended up taking something that wasn't purely E, or more oft than not GHB. Unfortunatly the media hardly ever differentiate between the two, calling GHB "Liquid E", hence the misconstrued news reports.

I remember when @ the peak of the anti-rave/club movement in 2000, a kid died @ eXit, during the inquiry into the death of another kid a few years before. Both deaths were claimed as E related, but MDMA wasn't found in their system, however lots of other chemicals were.

The obvious message is to be extremely careful what you take. There is no label on pills, so if you take something, try to make sure others are walking around trippin on it first

As for claims about "spine melting" or killing you, that's the stupidest paranoia I've heard since 1999 when the E craze was relaively new to the mass public. There have been under 50 deaths since they started tracking it in Ontario since the late 1980s, none of them soley attributed to E, but claimed again as "related". The reason your spine hurts after & during use is due to the fact our out of shape asses are dancing/bouncing/sitting awkwardly for up to 8hrs in a hot/humid smokey environment.

Most people on this site have done E, and like anything else I'm sure they'll tell you there are some side effects, but like alcohol, they are only major with frequent abuse, not once in awhile use.

mm yes....by homework I meant the kind that actually matters to me, and not this debate...you know....the kind we call UNIVERSITY ESSAYS, ESSAY DEFENCES, EXAMS, SEMINARS, etc??

that's probably for the best. please give extra attention to your essay defences.

The funny thing, there wouldn't have been a debate Smitty had you simply stated " E can be dangerous, and I'd rather not take drugs because the alter my mind and the chemicals in them", instead of saying inflamatory things lke "spine melting" and "it can kill you".

People may have tried to soften your stance, but 7 pages of replies hardly would of followed.

You should read some of my essays...there's nothing to attack. As my British history professor wrote on my Battle of Britain paper last year..."You can kill someone with your writing." He meant that in a positive way, mind you.

I really hope you're not going to attack this Dean's Honours List member, who has already received admissions to two graduate schools with research grant offers....soley based on this argument we're having.
