i thought he was awesome man. yea he started off really slow, but hey its digweed, you kinda gotta expect that. he built his set beautifully and was throwin down some CRazy tracks after you guys left (dreamer, dig. & mavo). me, alan and ken were goin nuts to some of the songs he was playin, he definately picked up his set after u guys called it a night. the only songs i could ID were..
Matthew Dekay Vs. Beastie Boys - Intergalactic
Gabriel & Dresden - Serendipity
Trafik - Your Light (Luke Chable Dub)
my fav song at the moment
Accadia - Into The Dawn (James Holden Remix) <-phat phat bass
he ended his set with Accadia, but then played 3 encore tracks lol.. didn't know the first 2 but he ended the night Bedrock - Heaven Scent (Yunus Guvenen Remix)... that was awesome.
I had a blast and I have alot more respect for Digweed now.. I thought his whole set was dope and his mixing was... flawless. The man's a machine
.
And we got a buncha autographs too. Let's see.... I got my Heaven Scent and Emerald (Grayarea Mix) vinyls signed, alan (prestige) got his Emerald (Original) and Forge vinyls signed, and Ken (vanfecto) got his DJ magazine signed, the one from 2001 i think where Digweed was #1. Also got our GU:021 CDs and ticket stubs signed.
All in all it was a good night, i think it was definately worth the $27.

Man i don't think i've danced that hard at a party in years!! I'm not a huge fan of progressive but Digweed started off chill and then layed it down proper! Rich's was comfortably full, it was nice to be able to actually dance on the dance floor (unlike tiesto)

and yes i do agree that there needs to be a S.Central US section...

Yes there were many hot women there!!! And for those scared of gay people and didn't go because of that, that fear is so incredibly unfounded from what I saw.

Suprised there hasnt been an official thread about this yet, I guess I'll do it then. Neway it started with a meetup at Barnes & Noble half the people who said they were coming didnt show, so it was just Prestige, Emerald, Mavo, Digital Breach, Dreamer, and myself. So at 10:45 we decided to head for the club, we got there once again a pretty smooth entrance. 10 mins top. When we arrive a local Dj Sean Crapahands was on, he was stinkin up the decks as usual with his horrible mixing and piss poor track selection, to my enjoyment he was only on for about 15 mins and then another local dj I dont know his name took over. Now this guy was no Digweed but he was decent a pleasna change from the last Dj. He spun for 1 1/2 hours, but we were anxious to see Digweed. I was especially anxious because I didnt know what to expect, never really listened to Diggers I deemed him boring but what from what Ive read on the boards Digweed is a different person live, so finally at 1 Digweed arrives, he mills arounds for a bit signs a few autographs, then he finally takes to the decks. Well Digweed begin to spin and for the first hour it was everything I had feared it sounded just like his cd's boring as hell, I was so out of the mood by then I honestly wanted to leave. I was pissed about my money, I was pissed I wasnt with my gf, I mean it really pissed me off., and I was not alone all but Emerald was bored out of their minds in the first hour. I think that whole hour he played one song I liked. Then all of a sudden the second hour and Digweed starts playing like a feking mad man. I mean left and right these crazy ass tunes I'd never heard of, I mean none in that 3 hour set I think we I'ded four songs. I mean the last two hours Digweed was amazing it was the best two hours of music I had ever heard in my entire life. I was like tune after tune was great, and he mixed his set so well, technically that guy is amazing every mix is absolutley amazing, I mean his mixes were perfect and I mean that in every sense of the word. His track selection was unbelieveable, I mean it was incredible it was the best set I had ever heard honestly, it had it was a mix of melodic progressive, tech-trance. and deep tribal progressive. Some of the build-ups these tunes had were amazing the crowd was going nuts, to be honest the crowd really couldnt handle all of it, Digweed put on a hell of a show, and I cant wait to see him the next time. That guy knows how to structure a set Il tell u what, Digweed is the fuckin man, all in all turned out to be a great night, o and wat sux for mavo, breah, and dreams was they left early so they missed all this greatness, and Diggers for the most part is a pretty nice guy, Digweed made a lasting impression on me and now Im thirsting for more, great night!!!

Originally posted by DaveSaenz Are you sure we both went to the same show? Damn, that was one of the best sets I've ever heard from any DJ that I can remember. Diggers is the consummate hypnotist and had me dancing like crazy. We did indeed go to the museum beforehand, and it took us hours just to see everything. It's a shame we missed the TA meetup, and I tried calling your number. AllI got was some operator message, and it was so loud in there I couldn't even hear lol. Perhaps next time. Yes there were many hot women there!!! And for those scared of gay people and didn't go because of that, that fear is so incredibly unfounded from what I saw. |
. oh well until the next one.
any of you guys know any other songs digweed played besides the ones i already listed?

its track 6 of the sasha set (32:00 min mark).... lovely.

MAX GRAHAM NEW 'SHINE' CD RELEASE
"Featuring tracks from Junkie XL, Sander Kleinenberg and Medway, Max tries to recreate a night out on the dancefloor, right at the point where the pounding techno cools off into a more melodic sound. The CD is a reflection of both the Shine night he runs in Canada as well as shinemusic the label - which, with two singles signed, is due for launch in early 2004. And since Max doesnt intend on any specific genre, Shine is certain to appeal to fans of all types of dance music and even entice a new generation of listeners."
I'd love to see Max. We'll just have to see about that one.
The one DJ I'd go to great lengths to see is Nick Warren for his amazing GU 24.
