20 days to the show let hte countdown begin!

Posted by NightCreature on Mar-01-2004 21:23:

Bah, I don't see what all the hype is about... $80 for Marco V and Scott project... AVB and A&B are playing on April 10 for $45, now there is an awesome party that will set a standard! Also Ferry Corsten in 16 days for $15! Just do the math... 45+15=$60 for 3 awesome DJs! Here you pay $80 for 2 good djs (Scott Project and Marco V)...

And then PVD in Seattle on April 24

Didn't your mama tell you to shop around?

is insomnia up to 80 $ ?????//
i thought 80 was the vip tick

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Mar-01-2004 21:31:

$80 is the VIP price. I got my ticket for Insomnia when they were still at $40...definitely worth it for Scot Project and Marco V! And besides, I generally hear better things about Solid's raves than Twisted's, and Twisted '04 is more expensive than Insomnia... =P

I guess it's a matter of music preference. Marco V plays techno... If I want to listen to amazing techno I would rather listen to Mauro Picotto. Scott Project plays hard trance. To tell you the truth Scott Project would be the only reason why I would want to go to this party when it comes to musical preferences. If the prices were reasonable, like lets say $30, I would go to this party. I doubt that you can get tix to this event for $40 now... Even if I could, it's still way too expensive, considering that Corsten tix are only $15, which reminds me that I need to still buy mine.

Also I find that techno parties are about the vibe. From the looks of it most of the people that can afford to pay such prices are under-aged teeny poopers that like to go out and do drugs at raves. I'm not saying that it will happen at this party in particular. I'm just saying that in general that's what happens at overpriced events like this.

Conclusion:
Techno music + unknown vibe + candy kids = "Would I want to spend a least $40 on this event?"

As I said before vibe at techno parties makes up for 85% of the party for me. The remaining 15% is music.

As for the Twisted party. I would say

Amazing music + 2 epic trance djs + unknown vibe + possibly some candy kids = "Worth $45 IMHO"

At epic trance parties I would say that music makes up for 90% the party for me. I mean there is emotion in epic trance. Build ups and break downs. Elements of classical music. The remaining 10% is the vibe.

we cant not let the candy kids in, face it, if its an all age event there would be some little whiney downtown rich kids there, all u can do is punch em in the face, and try to have a good time

I agree, candy kids aren't going anywhere. I just ignore them and enjoy the music and chill with friends/DJs.

NightCreature...your musical preference in parties is entirely up to you, go for what you want to hear. You sound like you've got it pretty much figured out so more power to you However, eventually you're going to realize that techno owns epic trance (insert smart-ass remark from DjCommisad about me being a tech-head here )

Posted by Tayfoon on Mar-15-2004 02:23:

ok seriously now ppl
can the last person who bought tickets tell me what is the real price ?
since i havent bought mine, im still hoping its around 50 $
75 is almost VIP...... i would not pay 80 fuckin bucks for a plaza event, ID&T events dont go over 45 Euro and u want us to pay 80 bucks for the Fucked up, asianed up, overcrowded shithole they call plaza of nations ? jesus fuckin christ be realistic ppl

Posted by DjFIL on Mar-15-2004 02:36:

Wow... someone doesn't like the Vancouver scene for small things. I'd be just glad they can get the plaza for large attendance electronica events, which allow them to fund geting big names as they are for this evening... even though I do believe the tiered ticket prices as they are are bullsh!t (should be just maximum 3 levels... early bird [like first week tix in stores], pre-sale & at door prices... and nothing more then that).

According to FNK members who are selling tix privatly they, and most vancouver stores, are at $55-60 for a tix. Thankfuly I'm here on the Island and there is minimal interest for traveling to this party so I got my tix (and a friends) for $45 each... and that was this friday I got them.

Anyway... 6 more days til Marco V and so much more! Waahoo!

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Mar-15-2004 02:37:

Tayfoon: The Plaza of Nations is pretty much the only venue that Vancouver has for these types of events. So STFU...

And I believe that tickets are still $57 at On Deck records. Shop around, you might be able to pick something up.

Posted by Tayfoon on Mar-15-2004 02:38:

wow....... thats so bad man
60 $..... i have to really think if i wanna spend 60 $ on this...
