Most of you here know that I'm a hardcore Tiesto fan, but I've come to realize that this whole #1 biz is just bringing in too many mp3 kiddie noobs that hear a slow melodic track in ASOT or GDJB and confuse it with the ISOS style. That is just wrong.

Most of these people downloaded ISOS 2 a few weeks ago. Bleh....

Ok well each ISOS has a distinctive different sound. They all are similar in the sense that there are vocals and summer melodies but if you compare ISOS to ISOS 3 there is a major difference in the energy and the sound...ISOS is VERY epic it just keeps growing into more energetic trance whereas ISOS 3 was very chilled...he seems to be going towards a more chilled vibe with the ISOS series so guessing that some ASOT and GDJB prog and trance songs isn't THAT far fetched.

you missed the point

The major difference was the type of trance that was coming out at the respective time in history and what Tijs was playing at the moment according to his own musical evolution. ISOS3 is not as epic because that sort of "epic" you're referring was dead in 2002. Also, ISOS 2 is the deeper and proggier one for a reason to. Make the math. Trust me, Tijs knows better than to play in 2004 the vocal version of Live Another Life, ATRC or Satellite in yet another mix compilation. Judging by the tracks you recommended you're better off getting Armin's new mix comp. or Markus Schultz-Coldharbour Sessions.

Because it's impossible to predict man. Tiesto is one of the most inconsistent djs in the world. You don't really know what to expect from him when he has been all this year touring new markets (Asia, Latin America) and all you know from him in 2004 is what he played at the WMC and the few IDs that the people in Latin America and East Asia are able to ID. Other than that, no mp3 sets for mp3 kiddies are available for guessing on his current style. I can tell you this though, Satellite is an insult to the ISOS concept, and I sure hope he would never include something like that in a compilation with such history.

Wait till the summer, then we'll have a better picture of what to expect.

Erm, the dub, maybe. And still, it's about as exciting as a roast beef sandwich compared to some other tracks I could name.

(Don't mistake me for an unabashed Markus hater. His mix of Talk Like A Stranger is one of the few instances where his style has come through quite nicely. But there aren't too many others.)
