waxology, if you're playing opening set, i think playing

Whirlpool - Under The Sun (solarstone remix)

is a very good idea, towards the latter end of your opening set.

its a good tune which can either be played at the beginning of a set, or whilst its pumping.. very versatile track in my opinion..

Ferry corsten vs thrillseekers - Sublime

is also a very nice suggestion too.

and Hyperdimension,

the senses remix of satellite isnt available on vinyl yet that im aware of. however its a very pretty cd-r that senses sent me.. however definately would be played during the middle of the set as its a very pumping remix.

Please remember guys the DJ's will try and fit in your requests. We've had almost 50+ tracks requested now, i'm pretty sure we can't play them all but we'll certainly do our best

I was thinking of posting Spang's whole collection, and just asking for that Not a good idea?

Edit: This way every track every1 of us owns/would request/would want to hear would be covered in 1 swift, but large message.

Yeah I think Senses remix is probably the best of all the remixes (I think there are 12 or so different versions of the track, I managed to DL all of them). It would go awesome in the middle of a pumping set.

I think tracks don't need to be on vinyl these days if you can mix with CDs... you can just DL tracks and put them onto CD-Rs for mixing.

Yeah I didn't want to be too pushy with my list, so guys, just treat my list as "ideas" and play any that you have only if you want to, and only if it fits well into the kind of set you want to play. My list is really mostly old tracks I hadn't heard played out in a while (or ever) and could do well on the night.

Thanks guys.

Yeah I agree, you guys should buy them, especially if you make money from it through DJing and holding events etc.
I'd buy the CD singles of the tracks I really love if they were easily available, and if they were reasonably priced.

I guess at the moment, other than buying the odd CD occasionally, I and many of us here mainly support the scene by buying tickets to attend events.

Profits from events, if there is profit, go to the promoter. The DJ fee, is what he's getting paid, 1 to work, and 2 to buy the tracks and practise.

Out of each vinyl purchased, ~$1.9AUD makes it way back to the Producer (I've lost the full break down, mind you). So by going to a club to support the scene, it doesn't really do much for the prouducer. If there's 600 people in a club or 1 person in the club, the producer's made the same money; ~$1.9 per track 1 time (IE only @ purchase).

It's good to see people out on the dance floor, that's awesome, it supports the local scene and DJ's (and god knows the local scenes need support )

Whenever a track gets played the producer is supposed to get royalties, however I don't understand why that doesn't happen in the club scene. I thought that the DJ provided a track listing to the club/promoter and then they send it to APRA.

That's just what I thought was supposed to happen.

Yeah that's what I thought is meant to happen too... similar to DVDs which have the startup warning saying that you're not allowed to play it in schools, hospitals, oil rigs, prisons, and clubs.

It's up to the event holders to sort out what they feel they should do.

I don't think a record company going broke every now and then is a bad thing, nor does it necessarily mean that the scene is in bad shape. Capitalism creates winners and losers, unfortunately not everyone can be winners
