Do you hide in his bathroom and find out?? Perhaps you routed the sewer line to your secret holding tank where you store all of Tiesto's shit and then analyze it exhaustively to see how much it sucks?? I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

If you compare that T.E. 2000 set (what is imo still one of the best sets ever)which you claim to have heard, with the type of music Armin spins nowadays, it is hardly believable that you've listened to these sets

Yes it's a totally different experience live but from what i have from Tiesto he sucks, AvB and PvD are much better in their selection of music and quality of mixing. and I don't give a f*ck about the history of him, I'm just saying from what's going on. His shit sucks too, it's really all the same and the only track that I've truly enjoyed is Traffic, judge my "trance taste" wrong but here's my current top 5 tracks:
1. Jens - Loops & Things
2. Planet Kaos - Sunburn
3. Dallas Superstars - Helium
4. Oceanlab - Satellite
5. Radiotrance - Palevo
ohh and can't forget #6. DJ Sammy - Boys of Summer!!! it r0x0rs!!!

There you go, thanks for proving my point. You're a lame 1337 mp3 kiddie. Wow, he has shitty ID$T DVDs too and now he's an expert on Dutch trance.

Again, this guy says Traffic is Tiesto's only good track. When did you start listening to trance, last month?

Oh, and he likes McProg too!!!

Trust me kid, learn your history. Check out Energy 2000 (not the lame Trance Energy) and Innercity 1999.

Armin wishes he could mix up a masterpiece like that. But what you say is true, the type of music Armin spins is mostly regressive and stuck in the old stale formula of 99.

i dont think it is posible for armin to keep your attention for more then 2 hours, because he just plays the same shitty asot tracks over and over and over again.

since i'm not allowed to keep my opinions anymore i'll shut up

However I will still claim that Tiesto is no longer #1 in the world and there are better DJs and producers out there, maybe to some he has lost his edge, maybe to some he still retains it, but he never had an edge over me.

You can keep you opinions, just don't post them here and expect rainbows and lollipops for answers.

Tiesto is the shit, omfg i would die to see him live. holy shit look at these tracks and tell me he isn't the crowned king of trance:
Flight 643, In My Memory, Lethal Industry, Magik Journey, Nyana, Sparkles, Subspace Interference, Suburban Train, Traffic...OMG all these tracks are so bomb
How can you ever say he has lost his edge, he's the shit.

can i get my f*cking lolliepops now?

i say Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, or Ferry Corsten.
And lets not pull another Paul Oakenfold with Tiesto. Give the man his respect whether hes as good this year he was the past two years or not. Hes still the same person with the same vision. He THE MAN

Posted by Gotcha85 on Apr-15-2004 08:11:

I hope Tiesto won't make it.. he still has his good moments (really liked his Revolution set), but a lot of his sets just don't make any sense, cause there's no buildup at all.

I got no idea who should get nr 1, I like Armin's radio shows, but I doubt if I could stand his music for a whole night. Ferry's set are imo more interesting, but I don't like his own new productions and I've never liked PVD. Hmmmmm....

i dont see why people care so much ...if this means mainly about popularity and nothing about pure talent at all then ..everyone should just say whatever about this list. I personaly dont care who is rated #1 because i know my self who i like the best and thats all that matters...all you guys can rave and prop up a name and many of people will follow just because majoritys likes someone they will like them as well, most people have no taste of there own they will like whats popular plain and simple.... not taking anything away from any dj, just saying many of these voted polls are BS because many votes are created souly on recognizable names.

Posted by BeatSMiTH on Apr-15-2004 15:08:

That's the smartest thing i've seen said here man. There is no such thing as the world's #1 DJ, just your #1 DJ.

Posted by denys envy on Apr-16-2004 05:11:

also we sit here and talk about #1's and who's what. but even I don't have the right to rip on Tiesto.

Let's recognize that all of these guys are skilled beyond belief and have made it through "the ranks" to become superstar DJs. How many of you f*cks (just like me) screw around at home and practice your asses off for just a glimpse of glory that AvB and PvD and Tiesto have experienced. I mean to mix in front of a crowd of 15,000+ people must be an incredible feeling and you can't f*ck up like I always do in my basement. It takes skill, practice, talent, and alot more things to get where some of these guys today...man i just rambled

I give total respect to Tiesto, I'm just saying I don't like most of his stuff but others feel differently and that's cool.

Tiesto has sucked from the beginning. The only good song he ever put of is Traffic and even now that's old. He hasn't dipped into any other genres, he's way to expensive to sign for any good events and just plays his own shit now.

Wow.

Tiesto's productions sucks ATM, but he always managers to create a beautiful atmosphere in his live performances. I know we all are just maybe expecting the best out of Tiesto because he's shown us what he can do in the past. Maybe that's being over-critical of the man. I've come to realise that you cannot expect every Tiesto production to be the best. As for Armin, I don't think he will be #1 dj because although he is very popular in europe, he is not as popular in the world. This was proven by the Dancestar Awards 2004. I think PVD will be #1 for this year.

Nobody can argue that over 2002 he was simply amazing, but with his remix of BT - Force of Gravity, his production seems to be getting a little stale(Ferry Remix sounds 10x better!!!!!!). And wots this rumor im hearing over the past few years that Tiesto hasnt actually produced tracks like Traffic and Flight 643, rumor has it that some other dj's helped him produce it and Tiesto just takes the credit. I hope thats not true!!

Neh I prefer more like Tiesto loving his style. Show me a DJ that gets as pumped as this guy when you see him on the decks, as for his productions I haven't had any problems with them even though I am about to check out Just Be and hope its a good project.
