cant win 'em all in the ninth. but after seeing kaz bat from the right, i think he should ditch switch hitting for a while and see how batting strictly from the right side works out. he has a much smoother swing from the right side it seems.

i dont think the mets will ever have a no hitter, let alone a perfect game. glavine was insane today. if there was ever a time where glavine the met looked like glavine the brave, this was it. amazing performance. i wonder if that ball 4 was called a strike 3 how the game would've turned out... we'll never know, but nonetheless, it was a dope game. and... the mets are at .500. and jeter is still horrible. despite my hatred, i'm starting to feel bad. he has to go on a HOTTTTTTTTTTTTER THAN HOT streak to get back to his career .300 avg.

for the mets fans... this is what jose reyes looked like in spring training:

and this is what jose reyes looked like yesterday:

check his forearms and biceps.. he's gotten so much bigger. i tried to find a picture form last year, but came up empty. i'm sure you all remembered what he looked like though. TINY...

wtf happened to his arms? he should be strengthening his LEGS and related muscles (abs, etc). he was really skinny last year. bleh at working nothing but upper body. just take the example of all the sluggers who have their hammies (chipper jones), quads (cliff floyd), knees (jason giambi), and ankles (knees) hurt.

according to everything i've read, he has NO fat in his legs. that is one of the main reason his leg always gets hurt. i dont know if you've been reading all of the articles, but the mets hired this conditioning guru. he's worked a lot with reyes and has actually changed the way he runs. a lot of people have said the way he runs causes too much stress to be put on the hamstring. well, anyway, he should be back by friday when we go to florida.

Machowiak also hit a 2-run homer in the 9th of the second game to tie the game. that was crazy

Yeah...that was the one that tied the game.....whats even more crazy is his wife just gave birth to their first baby boy 9 hours before the first game. Now how the hell do you go into a baseball game with a clear head and hit a game winning grand slam and then another clutch hommer the next game knowing that your wife just gave birth to your child 9 hours prior........mad respect to this guy.

Edit: Yes Sal....the Pirates are @ .500 smart ass Hey, you gotta take what you can get in this city as far as sports go.

a part of me wants the mets to win these next few games, and another part of me doesnt. if we win, we will trade minor leaguers like david wright, matt peterson, scott kazmir, etc for players like freddy garcia and kris benson. not worth it imo. but we're winning. if we lose, we keep all these players, but we're losing. blehhhhhhh

Posted by vtec junkie on May-30-2004 02:19:

FUCK YEAH THE BUCKS PULLED OFF ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!
Won 10-7......douple play in the top of the 9th BIATCHHHHHHH!!!!!'
Hey Sal......we broke that .500 mark.

damn mike lowell 2 games in a row beats the mets

Posted by Shamez214 on May-31-2004 13:37:

and everyone says the mets need to trade for a pitcher. unless that pitcher is mark prior, it's not gonna do us any good if we cant score runs. we need a rf or 3b. if we could get magglio, that'd be dope. but i definitely do not want to trade david wright to get mags.

wright:

.341 avg, .454 obp, .592 slug, 18 sb, 8 hr, 21 doubles, 31 walks,37 so's (he had a really bad game the other day where he went 0 - 7 with 5 k's. ouch). but i'm thinking wilpon doesnt want to trade him.

was at yankees stadium again. contreras was awful. a first inning that went 40 minutes. yankees won tho dammit. but the mets?!?! what's up with todd zeile? he's been our savior in the last two games against the phillies. sweep of the phillies... i hope the mets have a better result against the marlins this upcoming weekend than they did last one. go reds for sweeping the marlins too. should be a tight series btwn the mets and marlins. i'm going to friday night's game against the fish... ice cube tray night baby!!!

and what the fuck is up with the all star voting? it's such a god damn joke. i really hate it. nomar and jeter leading american league SS's over michael young and tejada? nomar hasnt played a game yet and jeter is sucking it up. johnny damon is number 3 so far in AL of... what about hideki matsui? or magglio (i know hes hurt now, but still)? its such a joke. and houston players are in the top 3 at every position. and plus, the all star game 'counts' again... so fucking stupid. i really hate the all star game. i'll still watch it though
