I sent in my CD regular mail. I didnt get it returned so I just hope it made it there. If not theres always next year.

Hope everything works out for you guys who are having problems sending in their mixes.

should read this forum more often normally just located in the tracklist request and u.k.t.a part will know for next time akkk good luck to everyone that did enter tho!!

Posted by WolfM on Aug-04-2004 17:33:

sent mine via normal mail.
why all of u made it so hard by sending it via FedX or UPS?
it was obvious that u need to send it via normal mail. I doubt anyone from the station will go to all the delivery companies and pick up all the CDs.
sory for anyone that didn`t make it, I~m realy looking forward to hear the 10 finalists.

Be Cool! Chill...

as long as what you sent was postmarked before August 2nd you're cool. it doesn't matter when it arrives (well, i'm sure anything over a few days late would be disqualified) cuz they're only looking to see the postmarked date. as long as you sent it prior to august 2nd you'll be fine. chill out, be cool like the Kool-Aid guy.

Well, I checked the usps website the other day and found out that the CD was signed for and delivered.

Thank you to the person who signed for the CD.

I feel the stress in the air. Contestants quit biting your nails. All your pain will go away very soon.

2 days away for the top 10.

Its on like Donkey Kong!

still waiting

Posted by MykonosBoy22 on Aug-24-2004 01:28:

They probably got fludded with more entries than they expected im guessing.

Posted by FredNova on Aug-24-2004 11:43:

I'm also curious. I 've sended a demo from Belgium (end of July), let's hope i did arrive on time.
My set was ok, not great, I can do better but I had to send it quickly, otherwise it wouldn't make the deadline at all...

right here waiting

Mixing

Did everyone mix these straight up from two decks a mixer and a burner or use a computer program?

Posted by Dave Piazza on Aug-24-2004 15:27:

no programs were allowed.

I used my Cd decks , turntables, and mixer. And of course an added spice from my efx 500.

Used 99% vinyl.I only used 1 song from cd because it was never released on vinyl , explains the need for a cd deck in your setup.

My current setup is:

2 Technic 1210 MK5's in black
Denon DN-D4000
Rane MP 44 Club Mixer ( didnt have the rane for this mix ( bought after), used my denon dn-x800)
PROFESSIONAL SLANT RACK CASE-BLACK
SONY MDRV700DJ DJ/REMIX HEADPHONES
2 Electro Voice SxA250 Powered 15-inch two-way
2 JBL JRX118SP POWERED PORTABLE 18 INCH SUBWOOFER
4 Ortofon needles (Night club)
2 Grundorf TURNTABLE CASE
Pioneer EFX 500
4 Odyssey LP Cases
FURMAN RR15 8 OUTLET POWER CONDITIONER WITH LIGHTS

The winner will be announced later this week.

I want to thank everyone who sent in a set. We had an even bigger response than last year! It was very difficut to narrow it down to 10, but after alot of time listening to sets, going over tracklists, fighting among the judges...we have a top 10.

Well, there you go. I'm going for a drink now

congrats to the winners!! I look forward to hearing the sets
