I'm glad portugal went thru i the end because they play much better football.

Posted by noikeee on Jun-30-2004 21:58:

WE'RE IN THE FUCKING FINAL

what an amazing goal by maniche

and this time it was really offside in the disallowed goal, heh.

i feel bad for the dutch cause always supported holland, but this was a deserved win. we definitely played better. too bad that we ended up the last 20 minutes closed up in deffence, scolari should have learned from trappatoni that it's not worthy. or.... well... it was worth this time. doesn't matter, we won

Sorry, but Frisk was terrible today, which is very uncharacteristic of him. Gutted by this defeat, but hope Czechs will end this nightmare for me and end the Portuguese dream. Thing about Portugal is that they haven't actually played well, they just played better than the crap performances they've come up against (Spain, England, and now Holland), so I'm hoping the Czechs (or Greeks) will give them a real run for their money. However, Scolari is a genius, so stopping the tactician is going to be a challenge. Long live the game...

Goal of the tournament from Maniche and a deserved win from Portugal, but a dull game. Deco is a player I admire (for his skills) but he and Ricardo were a disgrace. Blatant gamesmanship in the second half, they were playing Frisk for a fool.

the carlsbergs ruined the game for me but the commentators were saying that van der vaart changed holland's attitude for the better?

I agree, there's a feeling that Portugal have blagged their way through much of this tournament without playing very well, but even thought I think this has been a good tournament I don't think any team has been consistently good. The Portuguese were poor against the Greeks and poor against Russia before a harsh sending off swinged things their way, poor for an hour against Spain's worst performance and poor against England's worst performance. The Czechs, who have recieved a lot of praise and hype, were poor against Latvia sealing a win in the last 10 minutes after going a goal down, narrowly beat the Dutch after a dubious sending off and looked average for much of the game against Denmark.

Portugal have the ingredients of a team I'd normally admire, attacking play, full of energy and some silky skills. They should actually be very entertaining, but instead they're frustrating to watch. I find it impossible to like a team that cynically playacts at every opportunity, it seems to be a key feature of their game strategy.

I would like to see a Czech Republic/Portugal final, I'd be supporting the Czechs because of their style of attacking and their more honest football.

Your mother sucks cock somewhere?
Your father is a demon in hell?
Why this anger? Why are you such a weener?
I think you missed something in your childhood...some love or something......

boohoohooo... stop it, i'm gonna cry

the Dutch were owned by the Portuguese! It proved that the Dutch didn't deserve to get this far, fucking luck!

Posted by Blik on Jun-30-2004 22:50:

We didn't deserve to win today, simple as that

and Malek, Holland vs Syria, let's do that right now

the only thing it proved was that they didn't deserve to get to the final

Posted by Dwingo on Jun-30-2004 23:25:

good game to the Portugese, and a well deserved win. Nothing to add there. I'm gonna cheer for the chechs now. After all: they are the ones who helped us get this far. Plus they have a great team who play fantastic football

And Malek, you're just a fuckin' anti-holland noob. Ave it and enjoy Portugal being beaten by the Chechz 3 - 0.

I think thats very characteristic of him actually. You should see him go in the Swedish league. He loves taking controversial desicions because he has a huge ego.

Anyway congratulations to Portugal who deserved to win and respect to the Dutch on this board who admit to that.

Did you guys get to see the goal live or did they fuck up, showing a replay of the previous corner when the goal happened? Amateurs!!

i didn't saw the second goal neither because of that. they broadcast the same stream to everywhere.

also missed jorge andrade's magnificent lob above ricardo cause i had to take a piss

Posted by nettwerk on Jun-30-2004 23:44:

Do like I do: tune the TV, take off the sound and turn the radio on. You can't miss a thing

Posted by noikeee on Jun-30-2004 23:51:

there's the danger of hearing a goal 10 seconds before of seeing it.

Posted by nettwerk on Jul-01-2004 00:15:

10 seconds? Nah, not really. As a matter of fact, radio and TV have been synchronized in a way... and anyway, I'd believe that radio would be the one getting late.
(and besides, radio has more emotion if I just could add an attachment to this message...)

Posted by imokruok on Jul-01-2004 00:32:

I didn't think Figo had it in him anymore, but he really showed some old-style skill today. As for Portugal...we'll be waiting for you in 2006!

The United States shocked Portugal with three goals in the first 36 minutes, then held on for the upset at Suwon World Cup Stadium in Korea to move to the top of Group D with FIFA World Cup co-host Korea. 26 June 2002.
