6 More Days (Hopefully)

anyone knows if the 3x12" tracks are different from the CD release? like for example, i remember apollo on sasha&digweed's EM being longer that the track on the cd, i'm wondering if that's the version on vinyl cause it's more mixable

I have both the CD and vinyl release of the album and the track is exactly the same in structure and length (8:23) on both. I guess Sasha & Digweed got a promo version or something like that. Those often differ from the final released versions. That sucks tho because many great tracks have missed the official releases of their best versions and ended up putting out not-as-good versions (DJ-wise as for home listenin the released versions often might have been better options).

We have to take what we can get I guess.... its all down to opinion in the end anyways

Posted by itsTrueSonic on Oct-01-2004 17:04:

i am not really much of a breaks fan, but this cd is pretty good, stating the fact that most of the songs have breaks in them.

Killa!!!

Posted by vinnie97 on Oct-02-2004 08:16:

Yes, there are at least 2 other versions of Apollo prior to the album release, both are longer and have a more DJ-friendly outro. They didn't want to bore the home listeners with exessive DJ-friendliness. Also, those earlier versions have the benefit of being the most crisp and clear since the final version was properly mixed down and mastered in an expensive studio (and not off a PC/MAC/laptop), etc.

Bought it today...

Nice. Not amazing, but nice.

Not a huge fan of the vocal tunes (although Fear is great ). Killa is a cool tune. The others (not vocal but more melodic) are good tracks too.

As I say I only bought it today so it might grow on me more but I'm liking it mostly...

Not listened to the bonus mix CD yet, will get round to that soon.

I've had this album in my playlist since I got it in the beginning of september - I can't get enough.

NOW THIS ONE IS CALLED - KILLA! <- that build from 0:00 to 4:40 is majestic... holy crud.

for me it would be lostep - burma (sasha edit) by a mile... that tune is so fucking awesome

Posted by d0uble h3lix on Oct-12-2004 20:36:

yea i found the release version of apollo to have more kick and for the most part...better. it was in the live @ glastonbury set available at hybridized.org and i was wondering if anyone knows what remix this is or whether it was just edited into the final album version of apollo?

all in all the cd is excellent, solid beats and breaks, nice melodies, absolutely stellar vocals by omi. the mix cd has a good track selection, good blending mixes with a continuous tone, and the way out west bonus track "pulse of life" is a great chillout tune.

Its getting quite confusing with many sources claiming different lists, and even within my jewel case it states there are 15 tracks on the cd but i only see evidence of 14 when i rip it or play it on my computer or any cd players. This is the tags that ive come up with after cross referencing my playlist and whats in the cd papers (with the duration).

1. Deaf Center – Walk (0:25)
2. Adam Johnson - Four Squares (3:11)
3. Agent 001 – Stinger (2:30)
4. Martin Buttrich & The Hypnotist - Meeting Dave Dish/Rainbows In The Sky (4:23)
5. S Paul Hughes – Lost (4:12)
6. Blue Room Project – Out Of Area (Habersham & Numinous mix) (6:51)
7. Way Out West – Pulse of Life (5:52)
8. Palava – Surrender (Your Love Breaks Mix) (6:51)
9. 2 Dollar Egg – Implantat (1:10)
10. Introvert – Seaside Floater (8:45)
11. Themroc – Gold Is Your Metal (Paper Faces Mix) (4:51)
12. David West - Carrier (5:39)
13. KaitO - The Awakening (4:09)
14. HRK – Loveworld (Ulrich Schnauss instrumental mix) (5:20)
