I fucking hate that!

-what are you listening
-trance
-but thats techno
-no, it is trance
- but it has a four to the floor, so it must be techno

I couldn't live without one or the other - so I think it balances itself out like Yin - yang.

I've really tried liking techno, listened to sets, samples, reccomendations from other TAs. I had alot of patience trying to appreciate it, but in the end, I really really don't like it. I find it dull, without drive, repetitive and boring.

Posted by PlasticSoul on Mar-16-2006 15:06:

I like techno made by:

alexander kowalsky
umek
pascal FEOS
richie hawtin (plastikman)
mauro picotto
gabry fasano
cave
valentino kanzyani
kaylab
(goes on...)

you're not listening to the right techno . for the longest time that's how i felt too...but it's because i was listening to crappy techno. good techno has a fantastic drive...you probably even hear dj's play it and don't realize that's it techno.

Posted by weymouth on Mar-16-2006 16:31:

I have a hard enough time keeping up with trance, prog, and house let alone throwing in another genre.

but why limit yourself? ...make your sound that much better because i think a lot of techno can mesh into the other genres really well. too many dj's become too boring because they don't have enough variety...so don't fall into that trap...

The usual label here is Trance, well it is quite popular here but not everything is Trance.

I like a lot of techno, but it's really music for the club sound system, so I don't own as much of it as trance.
