I know people listened to tiesto and said he trainwrecked a few times. I would not damage my ears listening to that shite. Deejaying at the opening ceremonies is no real honor, he played his big songs to increase his record sales and he is not greek....sighs. Vancouver 2010 will have bryan adams I reckon....sighs..we are so pathetic.

Tiesto isnt greek and ure bashing him? Shouldnt u bash bjork as well, shes from iceland you know? Bash her too! This is a WORLD event, where all nations come together. If you fail to see that, i think ure pretty narrowminded, especially towards tiesto.

All of u who are giving him shit are just jealous peons. He did what he was supposed to do, he did it RIGHT, and got the job DONE.

Any of u who are complaining about "trainwrecking" are idiots, this is a fucking opening ceremony for the OLYMPICS, this isnt some sort of Event at Creamfields or something.

And no matter what, having tiesto play at the olympics is a nice step for trance.

I think what Tiesto did was amazing! Not what songs he played, or how good/bad his skills were, but at work today and even a little yesterday, people were asking me questions. They know I do my dj thing and enjoy trance music, but most of them (No matter how many cds I give them) dont have a way to experience the good stuff, the stuff that isin't played on the radio here. So back to my point, they were all asking questions about the songs, the dj, the way it works. These people have never had a "Trance Experience" in their life, but as tiesto played his songs in the backround of the ceremonies, they had that experience. And aperently they liked it too, and these are people from many cultures, ages, religion and beliefs.

One way or another it doesn't matter how well he did, because he did as well as he had to. The international exposure to trance has just BLOWN up and maybe you all can't see that yet, but I saw it first hand when I went to work today.

Cheers Tiesto!!! I'll admit that you fuk up just like all the rest of em, but you do a damn good job of spreading the lovely music to people who would otherwise not experience it. You just opened the biggest door for trance in general, I beleive, that may have ever been opened.

here here. Great post!

Look kid, your hero's mixing was off and it has been since 2002 but that's an entire other thread. I don't think it's that great of a step for trance at times because I did not feel it did much but it might get more people into trance, who knows.

lol, i'll seed for a couple of days also, so, get people to download it soon :\

SCREAM FROM THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN

BUAHAHAHAHAHAH :P

Ha, it might get more people into trance in the US... IF NBC ACTUALLY TURNED UP THEIR MIKE OR MENTIONED TIESTO

ah well

sigh...

Posted by meLon on Aug-17-2004 12:48:

Yeah, i know a lot of people that actually watched the opening (here in the US) and none of them heard the music or as much as a mention of Tiesto v_v

Posted by dark_tenshi on Aug-17-2004 13:41:

My friend called me up during the broadcast of the opening ceremony and told me that Tiesto was spinning in the stadium. I was like, WTF? Then moments later, I heard Lethal Industry playing in the background, despite the commentators and loud crowd cheers. I also heard Nyana later on.

Though I'm not much of his fan anymore, I'm happy for Tiesto. It must have been the experience and honor of a life time performing at an Olympics game, not to mention DJing.

i have a BIG problem i tried to download the file BUT the transfer rate goes to 2kb and sometimes to 9kb and my uploads are faster than the download, im new at BT and i dont know if thats normal or WHAT please help me.
Is there a ftp where to download it faster?? once i have the file i will share it with everyone cuz my upload rate is 30kb

Thanks

Posted by meLon on Aug-18-2004 01:31:

Your download rate depends on how much you've uploaded and how much available download bandwidth there is. With such a high upload, there probably are a lot of people downloading the file and not a lot seeding.

I will start seeding again.

Posted by Cafster on Aug-18-2004 01:52:

I'm on it. I'll keep seeding until I get home from work tomorrow.

I love Tiesto he's my favorite artist.

But honestly, that was the dumbest thing ever. For one, I could'nt hear my beloved Tiesto's sumptous music. And two the guy and the girl just would notshut up. It drove me wild. I was so bugged.

I do want a CD though, his news letter said that there was new songs.

Posted by arthurdj on Aug-18-2004 04:36:

Thanks a lot for sharing, a few minutes after the download speed increased to 20kb

I've seen Sasha live, I've seen Tiesto live

Sasha is the better deejay, you may think he is boring but at a club, he is so much fun, usually coked up (as is tiesto) but Sasha mixes better and he plays stuff that you've never heard, not tiesto these days. But my deeper queestion is have you seen any deejay live?
