No problem. I understand...

I will be back in the area though in January 22nd at Cloud 9. Cloud 9 in my opinion is the most beautiful club in Cleveland. Ive been bugging my booking agent to get me in there for a year. If all goes well on the 22nd, it may turn into a monthly thing.
Hope you can make it out for that.

Cheers!

Its not that bad. Its not the cleanest club... but on the good side, the sound and lighting are great. With the right crowd and the right DJ Ive seen some great events go down there.

Posted by pattbateman on Dec-31-2004 16:29:

well everyone get ready for a long night!...... think there will be a lot of people there tonight?

Posted by DJ-Dank-Poo on Jan-01-2005 23:05:

hey Kenneth... THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for bombing cleveland!

I had a blast at metropolis. I was assuming you were the one who went on right at midnight until about 3:15, right.. with the jesus shirt on? (lol) I didn't know they allowed cameras else I woulda brought my digi cam for our viewing pleasure, dang i coulda taken some video too. Anyways, if you were wondering who that dood was right up front with the hooj choons shirt on bouncing all around the place, well... does this ugly mug look familiar?
:
I left a bit late but got there just in time for the champagne toast and to get a beer before you went on. I can honestly say I was jumping around the WHOLE time until the moment you stopped at a bit after 3:00... i didn't even realize it! My favs were the "Easy Lover" rmx and when you dropped "Circa Forever"... that was unexpected but it just blew up the place!!

So I understand a bunch of detroit peeps came out... i think after 3 I was one of the only clevelanders left there hahah... I will have to check out some in events in detroit if its not that long of a trip

Last thing: Please KT tell me someone from your crew patched into the soundboard and recorded this mix!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!

i know exactly who you are now hahah your right though... it was all the same people out there for most of the time, bunch of people just sitting around watching while he was rocking out, no doubt! i think cloud 9 is more like a lounge type place, though i've never been there the pics looks pretty cool... if you go to see KT there you'll have to post a scout report, i won't be able to make it

whats up trancespeeder, welcome to the slowly growing Ohio TA thread!! maybe we should try to get sticky "Ohio TA's Unite" thread going...?

Posted by Tuis on Jan-02-2005 18:38:

Ooo, our own roster and badge numbers!

Yes, Ohio Guard here, 1485th Transportation out of Dover, OH (with detachments in Coshocton and Steubenville). I drill in Steubenville despite the distance - I'm just attached to it, I guess.

Now that the quarter at OSU is about to start, my work hours drop like a rock and should give me more weekend time to get out. Homework easier to shuffle around than a work schedule

U suck

there's plenty going on in Cleveland but just because it's not 100% trance you prefer to deny it.

Get a clue. No city in the world has a lot of trance.

Cloud9 is a magnificient location with fabulous sound but the minus part of it all is that it's loungey so people dont dance all that much. But when the dance floor gets packed it can really get going.

Posted by pattbateman on Jan-03-2005 03:59:

tell me where to go then o smart one jdat? where is the edm playing in cleveland and what nights???

Posted by DJ-Dank-Poo on Jan-03-2005 04:42:

LoL... do you guys know each other? i don't why i just found that little debacle rather amusing while your at it jdat, hook me up with a residency in town woop wooop! hahaha

i was diggin what KT did, not all trance, not all house... i like it like that. sometimes all that gushy emo trance stuff starts to make me yawn. "variety is the spice of life" er whatever~

I agree. I like to play trance but not for the whole set. I tend to use trance to accent the highest points of the set.
This weekend though the Chunky stuff i started off with wasnt working very well and i quickly realized that most of the crowd was really up for the trance so thats the direction i went.

Every club and every crowd is different and so should every set.

Why do I even waste my time posting our events on this site??? Do people just not read the thread unless it has PVD in the subject line??

Well, at least come out this Saturday to jdat's party, alright??

I'm not getting on your shit; it's just very frustrating to spend every waking hour trying to tell people we're here. I used to live in Miami and I just returned from a fucking amazing weekend in Toronto. Believe me, I know what a good scene is, and you're right, Cleveland has a long way to go, not in terms of the DJs, I think the DJs here actually blow most headliners away, but in terms of the vibe and the people and the attitudes of people like your friends.

The whole point in my mind of parties like ours is that you should feel like you can come by yourself and leave with 10 new friends. That's the kind of vibe we have. None of us that hang out together regularly ever knew each other before going to events at Abbasso. We are all from different parts of the world and we became friends through the music. Don't worry about what the assholes who would beat you up think; I don't want their vibes around anyway. Just bring yourself and a positive attitude and you'll make a lot of new friends. Trust me! It's how we met jdat!

Feminine.

Some have hair, even more have boobies.

Before answering to that question I'd like to let you know that if you're ever going to find out if there's a scene you have to go and check out places, even if you're not sure who the dj is or what.
I'm pretty sure you've seen and read on here and elsewhere about things going on a million times but didn't go and check it out.
Let me say it's your own lose.
You gotta have an open mind Experiment!

Now playing the out of town clubbing card .... don't get me started on that; I'm big on going out of town as well.
Don't try and teach me what's different cause trust me I KNOW it all too well including Headrushmusic!
Heck we've maybe been in other cities at the same time and didn't even know it ( I've bumped into some Clevelanders in TO for example ).
The reason why I personaly do it, apart from the fact that other cities may get headliners Cleveland does not is mostly due to the extended nights ( yes I'm a bit ticked off with the idea that most places shut down here around 2.30 because alcohol sales are over then and people just don't stick around ).

Personaly I've been in clubs for too long, and in too many locations that I could possibly remember, and in 99% of the cases I have gone solo; meet people at the clubs and make friends.
I know some people are far from wanting to do that, feeling embarassed about going out alone and such ..... it's a different experience; but I've never regretted it ( apart from say having to drive home when I was out ot town like this weekend 8 hours straight to new york and back ).
Then again, clubs are about music right?
I usually have a hard time talking all that much in clubs .... but that's just me ..... I'm there to dance listen to the music and have fun.

Now back to the original subject matter: Cleveland.
While the electronic club goers crowd may not be huge, there's still a steady base of cool people; the flip side to that, you may not be able to hook up with too many girls as there's not a ton of music heads, a lot of them already have bf's and such

Don't be so judgemental about what you don't know

oh and yeah SUPPORT YOUR LOCALS!
It's just beyond me as to how so many TA's only go out for headliners, when they lack to realize that these headliners were locals one day too.

If you want to bounce some titties or shake some booty go to Tramp! They got nice poles and all.
Heck hip hop nights may be good for picking up chicks; but generally ... trying to hook up in this city isn't easy
