Not ignorant...very smart. It is a fact that if you are caught using drugs you are more then likely going to get fired from your job, unless you shovel shit in a stable. And drugs do have a tremendous affect on family life..

I still find it amusing how people can claim drugs are good for the community. Do not get me wrong, everything in moderation can be safe...but more often then not that moderation leads to an everyday problem.

If you use them AT work then obviously you would, since the workplace would get in trouble. But he's talking about taking them in a club (i refuse to use the term 'rave', it's been obsolete in this country for ~10 years). And how exactly does it affect your family life? I'm interested in knowing...

///edit - bleurgh you edited in that second paragraph...

True, and you'll always get some people who do them wrecklessly. Regarding responsible & occasional/recreational use of E though, I find very hard to believe it would have any serious effect on your work/family life.

I have NO other alternative in my life now than to descend into the depths of wasters & lowlifes, living on the street and mugging children for smack money.

Yes if you use them that AT work you would get fired. But what if you get caught using out work, say through a drug test which are very common practice. Or get arrested or numurous other ways. And i said using in moderation at a club is more then likely harmless...but not always.

If i have to explain how drugs have adverse affects on family life to you then i am argueing with someone who no matter what i say will not change their views, or even listen. It is almost 2005, how can you sit there and imply that drugs do not affect family life in a malignant way.

That is why i said moderation....but one drug leads to another alot of the times. To deny that is absurd. No drug addict started off shooting $300 worth of black tar heroin with no past drug use. All drug users start off small.

I can agree that certain drugs are safe in controled enviroments when used by educated people. But drugs, more often then not, have no benefit on society.

u DO NOT get sacked from a job if u have a criminal record involving drugs its the data protection act. As long as where u work doesnt involve something like children or something that is affected by ur drug taking the workplace doesnt need to know. The police wont tell them ur criminal record is protected ur parents dont even get told as long as ur over 18

Posted by daeus on Sep-06-2004 12:52:

All u ravers who r under 18 i wouldnt worry bout gettin in to many of the big trance nites cause they dont seem to care if ur in the q, if ur desperate get sum fake ID :P

Also i can dance solidly for 8 hrs, without any drugs, i find if u like the music enough thats the only thing you need to keep you going, pills are abit heavy for me but i love abit of alchy and sum weed, if you respect the balance between the two you can get nice n high nd still be able to dance (too much and you mite end up with ur head on a speaker tho gutted lo)

I didn't... you have a really fucked up way of wording things. Saying 'drugs have adverse effects on family life' is nothing short of a false statement. Saying 'drugs CAN have adverse effects on family life' would be alot nearer the mark. There are probably many ways which they can, but much of the time it's still a worst-case-scenario and, i'd be surprised if it was as common as you made out. I'm only going from personal experience... I've only ever taken coke, speed & E, each time in small amounts & at a club/festival. Each time I've felt a little withdrawn the following day but that's all; my family life hasn't been affected in any way, and I've even discussed about it with my manager at work, who had no problems whatsoever with it.

You EDITED IN your statement about moderation after I'd made my initial post, I was only agreeing with it. I personally have no desire to try anything 'harder' than E (and at that, never take it alone at home) and most of my friends are the same... is it really 'absurd' to say that? I care little for people who think otherwise and always need to take more drugs, more often... I'm not saying those people don't exist, but it's exactly the same case with social drinkers & alcoholics; it's up to you if you want to develop a dependency out of a pastime & there's little risk of delevoping into an alcoholic after your first night getting hammered.

Meh, this deabte is probably lost in this thread but whatever

I have a strong grasp on what drugs can do. I am not tlaking out of inexperience....

I hate when n00bs, like yourself, act all self rightous and claim drugs are beneficial. I am sure when you live life longer you will understand where i am coming from. I have seen first hand how drugs can destroy lives - whether it be somone losing their job, getting a divorce, living on the streets, getting diseases and many other things. I am not a 18 year old who hasnt lived life, i have been around.

Come back in 10 years when you have lived life outside of mommy and daddys protection and then preach to me about life.

This is what rave means in the UK in the eyes of the law:

"An illegal gathering of revellers listening to sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats

This is what rave (act) means in the US in the eyes of the law:

Reducing Americans vulnerability to Ecstasy

People should call it clubbing or going to a dance/edm event/festival then you might not complain off people calling you pill heads.

1 - i never said that u didnt know about drugs i was refering to the general population who have never been in a club before and havent got a clue
2 - how do u know im a so called noob
3 - i wasnt being self righous and i never claimed that drugs r beneficial
4 - i know how drugs can destroy lives i know that pills r illegal but i sometimes wish the police would spend more time dealing with real hard drugs that really do destroy lifes like cocaine and heroine
5 - when did i ever preach to anybody about life in any of my posts

Posted by trewqy on Sep-06-2004 16:03:

doesnt matter if people take drugs or not.Drugs have been in our culture since the beginning of time.

Even animals such as monkeys and birds take addictive substances to achieve pleasure..(watch discovery channel)

As my wise friend once said "We're all gonna die anyways..why not do it sooner than later!"
