What's the difference between guns and chainsaws or cars. What didn't some old guy 2 years ago kill 11 people in California with his car.

I just think it's sad when legislation has to take the place of good ole' common sense - something that seems to be getting phased out these days.

Oh a society where you need a gun to feel safe? ummm that's called human nature every society that has ever been on earth if you had a weapon you would feel safe. Why do you think weapons were invented in the first place. So your telling me the human race as a whole, has a problem, what is with you? All humans were idiots for inventing weapons? yes what you think your smarter than historic peoples.
I said guns have nothing to do with how violent people are. you obviously don't know your history. By the way before gunpowder was invented people where just as violent ummm duuuuu! |
You are all over the place man that it is hard for me to grasp your point about guns, violence and its connection. A society where you need a gun to feel safe is human nature
I am yet to see your argument clearly on this subject. Rio de Janeiro has over 40.000 murders a year, ordinary people there have firearms so I suppose that is real safe indeed, but I guess Cariocos(residents of Rio) don't need law and order to feel safe, just a nice warm gun, right?
To say the human race as a whole has a problem would be an understatement at best. Look at mankind's history and the role of weapons in that and then you tell me and what does me being smarter than historic peoples or not have to do with the point that personal responsiblity with a gun and law and order in society is more important than assuming that just because you have a gun you are safe.
P.S. we know about all those hundreds of people that an automatic sub machine KNIFE can kill with hundreds of rounds per minute. I think I'll take my chances against someone with a knife versus a gun, but what do I know.

You can't stop him. |
What is this I hear, personal responsibility, maybe you are making sense after all. Human beings are monitored everyday through the concept of law and order in our society. Not everyone will follow that however for various reasons. Look I am not some gun control advocate but I laugh at your idea that get a gun and you will be automatically safe. Do you plan to walk with a gun on you everywhere that you go, talk about paranoid. I live in Brooklyn if anything I should need a gun on me 24/7 to feel safe, but guees what I live just fine travelling night and day around the city. I'll take a NYC where the crime rate has dropped for the past few years contributing to a safer city overall than any gun toting Wild West Dodge City theory.

You feel safe walking around NYC where there are lots of guns. You have just made yourself the biggest hypocrite on this forum! You feel safe walking around NYC where their are guns, yet you are arguing for the gun ban. Oh my god what a classic contradiction.
"Your all over the place" oh I think your the one whose all over the place, don't even argue if your going to insult me like that.
Don't edit your post either.

How old are you, you ask me not to edit my post when you are editing yours, and yes I feel safe walking around NYC like millions of other Americans on a daily basis, I get the feeling I'm arguing a useless topic with you because you have no coherency in your posts. Just a series of seriously misinformed posts and statements after another, by that logic of farce that you use I could ask you need a gun to feel safe in Toronto. I am a hypocrite for feeling safe to walk in NYC, how dare me, I wonder if you have ever been to NYC or you still think that it is like the 1980s when it comes to violence like many misinformed out of towners with ignorant opinions that have never been to the City in the first place. I am yet to get a serious response from you you simmpy take my words and try to reverse it but have no thoughts and words of your own to contribute and attempting to read your posts I can see why that is. Go get your gun before those Nazis take over the Canadian government
Please think long and hard before making another post it would be beneficial to the topic, Assault Weapons Ban.
P.S. In a debate, its not a good idea to take other people's statemenents and use it in your arguments as a counterpoint unless you have a valid rebuttal of your own as part of that response
I have had debates with many on this forum and never once had to question the coherentness of their posts, I wonder why.
By the way I would love to see you quote me where I argued for a ban on guns, I was arguing your statement about guns and safety that is the crux of my commentary, nothing about guns should be banned is mentioned on my part. I realize there are people who use guns for hunting and sport and that should be a choice for them. You make it sound as though around every corner in NYC there are fiends waiting to shoot you in the head and what would having a gun on you in NYC accomplish by the way. I don't expect you to respond to this directly judging from other statements you have made, but I hold out hope.
