*Age Of Love - Age Of Love <-- only like the Wrecked Anglee mix
*Armin - Blue Fear <-- only Trouse Enthusiasts mix, i like
*Gaia - 4 Elements
*Nalin & Kane - Beachball
*Push - Universal Nation <-- always preffered Till We Meet Again over this
*Three Drives - Greece 2000 <-- only ever cared for the Lost Tribe vs. Miro Vocal Mix & MWNN Mix
*Jan Johnston - Flesh
*Da Hool - Meet Her At The Love Parade

i understand and respect that these songs became famous and are labelled favorites and/or classics but they dont do anything for me and personally i think they are overrated. i can think of other songs that are known by few but at the same time considered classics for other reasons than popularity or fame in general.

I agree.

People have said Universal Nation... I also prefer Till We Meet Again... it's similar, but better

blue fear sucks, as does the prophet

strange thing is with a lot of older tunes i hated them at the time but changed my mind after the hype and popularity died down
used to hate out of the blue but one time i turned the volume right up and got amazing chills of it
i can understand what people say about carte blanche and for an angel, but there is a good breakdown in there

One reason for buying 'ROOS - Instant Moments'

The CM Remix...

Fucking ROFL... you have no idea.

Also ROFL at half the shit people are calling "classics"... get a fucking clue.

Posted by Icesotope on Oct-12-2004 12:07:

DJ Tiesto - Sparkles Don't See any good in this. The Keyboard Synths are really too annoying....
DJ Taucher - Science Fiction Weird.. Nobody mention this..
ATB - Don't Stop Too Commercial. But i like the Quake and X-Cabs Remix
Paul Van Dyk - Another Way Its way much worst compare to god tunes like Forbidden Fruit and Namistai
BT - Dreaming Damn, i guess he can do better than that... I really prefer Libra Pres. Taylor - Anomaly
Binary Finary - 1998 need to say more?

Posted by Ian on Oct-12-2004 12:51:

Sasha - Xpander - just does nowt for me

If (and just so i can add more that I don't believe are classics but fit the pattern) it wasn't just classics..

ATRC
White Room
Jump infront of the next train to stop the pain (I may have changed the title a tad)
TV Dinner
Burned with Desire (or is it just an STD mass passed on by fans of this song )
Anything that has 'coldharbour' in it

and the list could go on forever, but I'll leave those for another time

Underworld - Born Slippy.

Christ alive, I hate that song.

Actually, you're the one without a clue here, who can't respect peoples opinions.

Anyway, there are lots of so-called "classics" that I either don't like, dislike or pretty much hate...
For an angel and seven cities are tracks that are pretty decent.
Dust.wav / Sound of goodbye and Nalin & Kane - Beachball (esp. the G&D remix) - ewwwwwww.

Worst vocal ever goes to Age of Love though, couldn't agree more than this:

the tune and many remixes of it would be really fucking great if it weren't for the most awful vocals that i've ever heard! those vocals totally kill the track for me! completely! i almost haven't heard vocals that bad even in eurodance!

Sasha - Xpander
Boring track

I dont have a clue? Thats a first... Buddy unlike many on this board, I have been listening to Trance since it began (1991)... And I find it humourous that people are calling tracks like For an Angel as a classic... gimme a fucking break... thats pure fucking commercialised crap

Oh, you're going to be popular here.

Posted by A.J. on Oct-12-2004 15:36:

Well i certainly think that ONION, or anybody else for that matter, who has listened to this genre of music from the beginning would have a more valid basis for comparison than most. If you have only heard part of a genre, it is more difficult to make generalisations about the complete genre. If you have only seen recent, crappy teen films, you could hardly comment on the entire history of film and the true classics, because you haven't experienced them.

He would have heard the evolution of trance as a genre and the different sounds that have emerged over the years, so i really do think he is a better judge of "classics" than most others here, myself included. How many people have listened to the "old school" trance of the early 90s ??

I don't really detest it, but I think a remix could have fixed it up a lot. The vocals just turn me off, but the synth is nice, that kind of strings/bass sound. I've looked for a remix of just that, but no one did it.

Tiesto - Adagio. Or pretty much any mix of Adagio for Strings. Overplayed, and it just pisses me off now.

Out of the users on these forums who post regularly, probably none. Actually DJ Irish has. But let me tell you, it doesn't take a genius to come to any of the conclusions that ONION has, and they aren't exactly new...
