It's cool. It was a big hit in the US, so I thought you might know it, but it's pop anyway. She did a song with Santana too.

It's funny how you guys all think why girls don't like trance. IMO it has something to do with lazyness.... It's easier to jump around like an idiot on the latest Justin Timberlake, as you can buy the guy's records EVERYWHERE, than on the newest track from, let's say, Above & Beyond. When they think they like trance, they mostly like Tiesto's records because they're all number one in the charts around here. (Not now....now there is all kind of ugly Dutch urban-crap-shit....in the charts here.. But well..."just be" has been just released on cd-single) It has all to do with charts and radio....

I dont think thats the case...According to your theory most men should like the crap that's in the charts (R&B sh*T and so), but it's a fact that girls love R&B more than guys...

I think its something genetic/psychological....dunnow what exactly

Posted by djkoolaide on Oct-21-2004 20:38:

Well I've showed quite a few girls what trance music is, and most think "hey this is cool" but they especially like vocal trance. Even with the ones that don't like plain old trance, some of them like it if there are vocals.

Kinda crazy, it's gotten to the point where a few of the "cool kids" (sports jocks, preppy cheerleader chix0rz, etc) are coming up to me and asking for mix CDs because they heard them from their other friends Hehe

I dunno if this applies for women though, I mean the girls I'm talking about are 15-17 years old.

It's a real fact that women love R&B more than men? I don't think so.

I'm a girl..I love trance [and other types of edm]
Most guys I meet dont even know what trance is either..

'Whats that trance song that goes..boom boom boom?'

Posted by DarkAngel on Oct-22-2004 23:06:

Read This!

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's girls that don't like trance.

Here's a poll I made about significant others and trance: will you still be interested in a person if he/she doesn't like it?

POLL

If I meet a girl and I ask her, "Do you like trance?" And she says, "No," I'm pretty much gone.

This whole thread's kinda ridiculous; the whole reason why we have ANY kind of dance music electronic or otherwise is because of the chicks. When you go where the DJ spins trance, is the place only packed with guys as it is in, say, an Iron Maiden show? Thankfully no. Least not where I am anyway.

Posted by DJ_Elyot on Oct-23-2004 06:18:

My girlfriend LOVES trance... and she's always begging me to burn CDs of livesets for her because she can't DL them on her 56k internet. Her favourite song is Synaesthesia, so I'd say she's got decent taste.

Dimebag Darrel is the shit! Man i missed out on seeing RATT, Poison, Quiet Riot and Dio for an 80's hair band reunion!!!!! I so wished i went to that!

how awesome would that be !! i wouldve looked for awesome tight-fitting acid-wash jeans at a thrift store and a BOSTON world Tour t-shirt from 1984!!!!!! cut the sleeves off the shirt and make some holes in the jeans!

bad ass!

too lazy to read all posts, but... don't u think trance is too violent for women (i know Chicane is not but mostly is a bit), i don't find this violent but people who don't listen to electronic music could think it sounds a bit fast when they are not got used...maybe it is more the case for women.

Why?

Because men are from mars, women from venus.

Seriously...

there probably is something biological in all this.
Maybe linked to the past of human specie; it has been shown that women emotionnally react more to the language... and less than men to other ways of communication. Something that could have been studied by Darwin hehe...

but i also often wonder about this...

seriously how many women really understand the music (trance/classical, real music), feel the music like we do ?

a very few % sadly...

thats a funny way to describe trance

Posted by starcotix on Oct-23-2004 21:09:

My friends who are really into trance are mostly guys..I know a few girls who actually understand a bit about edm [not including the ones I met on edm forums]
I guess most people go to trance clubs to dance and have fun but would rather listen to something else at home :P

Posted by DJ_Bananie on Oct-23-2004 23:35:

Aren't you guys being a little... general?

I mean, this is almost bordering sexism...

Speak for yourself. I'm from heaven, but got kicked out for flirting with all the female angels.
