The Miami Heat had a great game today, They beat the Portland Trailblazers 103-92.

woo hoo! .. the hometown hornets win their 3rd game tonight beating sacramento 121-117. what a great game. baron davis is back to his old self again (well not his ball hogging self .. hahaha .. his teamwork self) .. by putting up a triple double, and getting some very key steals late in the game ..

baron's stats : 26 points, 17 assists, 10 rebounds, 4 steals.

what a great game .. the team playing together .. i like to see this, especially with 'big cat' maggloire coming back next month, the hornets could possibly have a strong second half season to look forward to .. and hopefully david west can come back to provide some excellent bench help .. this is a good team we have here ..

allright these sonics are good , they just beat the heat for the 2nd time this week.Heat have only lost 2 games in the last 18, and they were to the sonics.
itstruesonic Im glad your happy about your teams 3rd win lol

The Heat game against the Suns this comming tuesday is gonna be a great game, Markus is a fan of both the Heat and the Suns, However, I see the heat winning this game, Can someone say, The Diesel?

damn it .. i will be happier once we get david west and big cat next month .. then we could actually see some daylight (like if we want it .. we should be vying for the number one pick for this year's draft .. hhahaha) ..

but i feel the biggest concern this offseason (look at me .. already looking forward to the offseason for the team) is to find some bigger bodies ..chris andersen and rodney rodgers were great pick ups, but not the "western conference" big bodies .. if you know what i mean ..

It won't happen though (can't trade his anyhow with his excessive contract). Just my musings....

Yea i know what you mean, its all John Nash's fault! he is a stupid GM with no patiance i would trade him!
This guy is making the Blazers just another mediocre club in the league insted of respecting it and making it one of the best like it should be,i want Portland to go into a complete rebuild in the last year& a half, trust me that Zach is a good player but the problem is that 30% wideopen shots shooters like DA,Damon and even Miles are allowing double teams on Randolph and then turnovers from Randolph's part when the second option is Ratliff who scores about 5 PPG...
Shareef's defence is almost as bad as randolph'S in the post and he is gettin' old, just look how every time Randolph is on the bench the Blazers are getting stuck on offence.
Just blame John Nash thats what i say, does it make any sence to you that B.Wells was traded for nothing and now he is shooting 30 points every time he is in portland? does it make any sence to you that D.A+Theo+Zach+Patterson+Damon's salaries alone are filling the Blazers Cap room?! its crazy and a big change is needed! I think they need a player like Micheal Redd and a solid 3pointer PG to make them a normal team who can run in the playoffs.

Richard Jefferson gone for the year
The Nets are even more screwed
will Kidd stick around?

no. he's outta here. his pant pulling the gms will finally pay off, and he's outta here .. here's the question .. where to ?? what team could possibly afford jason kidd? if new jersey agrees to pay the rest of his contract, who would possibly want to trade for a guy who has proven to be a very talented basketball player, but tends to be very inconsistent on a night to night basis occasionally, and has a very low career shooting % ?? .. i can't think of any team going for a playoff run that would want him .. and bold the term "playoff run" .. because if jason kidd is traded to a scrub team, he will not be very happy. the only team i could think of that would take him would be houston, but they have gone through too much to get juwan howard and t-mac, and bobby sura and d-dub .. so they can't afford to possibly trade more players to get jason kidd..

i would be happy with a package deal to send jason kidd and players for baron davis and players .. face it ... we are trading one ego for another ego .. we are not going to lose anything .. hahah ..

Posted by Viber on Jan-13-2005 23:19:

If i were the Nets's GM i would trade kidd for J.Mashburn/Glenn Robinson or even Jerome James and Vitaly Potampeko,Kidd's contract is awful and his inconsistency is even worse...The Nets are so stupid to get rid of K.Mart and Kittels but trusting Kidd and an injury prone like Carter in the next sevral years for so much money...

BTW:TJ Ford is also done for the season and there's a chance that his career is also over.

all-star game coming up soon .. just want to make two points ..

1- hometown no hornets just won their 10th game today .. woo hoo!! .. what a great game .. seems most of the hornets games have been very entertaining .. even when they lose .. haahahha .. but i see the hometown hornets having a strong second half of the season, with jacobson and nachbar getting more acclemated into the system, nailon and baron davis and jamaal magloire coming back soon after the break eventually .. j.r. smith and dan dickau really coming through as of late .. only crossing fingers rodney rogers doesn't like fall down and collapse from like a heart attack or something like that ... that man is always out of shape, but still a good basketball player .. hahahha ..

2- a sad way to end the week with the announcements karl malone and reggie miller will be retiring this season .. and these allegations against the "dream" hakeen olajuwon ..

refs

i must say NBA Refs suck a lot of dick ... of all sports possible in this world i think nba refs really don't know shit what goaltending and fouls are .... kings get screwed 2 games with goaltending and not only them but so many fouls are called that don't make any sense

my pics for nba finals are

SPURS vs Miami or Detroiiiiiit basketball / easy is up for grabs who knows even my good C's might come thru but i doubt any body is going to get past by spurs with the way duncan is playing and menu ginobili

miami might have a chance to get past by pistons with shaq and wade combination and possibly alanzo is coming back

Darko Milicic should go back to Serbia ... Theres way 2 many players that could have came in his place and did better... hes a disgrace for serbian (ex yu) basketball ....

Bodiroga #1

you shouldnt say that .. i see darko as a load of talent awaiting to emerge out .. look at jermaine oneal .. u know how many years he was riding the bench at portland .. darko has a great teacher (larry brown) to teach him the tricks ..

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Feb-12-2005 18:15:

larry brown is trying to make Darko a back to the basket type player, which he is not at all.I think he has made Darko regress,Larry might be a great teacher but he has a my way or the highway method to coaching.

Posted by Eddie N MIAMI on Feb-13-2005 00:47:

Zo should be joining the Heat any moment now. Will be interesting to see how many minutes he plays, once the playoffs starts he should be able to play at least 30 minutes a game.Zo(if he's healthy) and Shaq in the post

slacker is right i dont think larry brown knew how to use darko,I havnt seen him play much but I imagine in croatia he was like a dirk nowitski kind of player?Which is weird cause ask anyone who the best NBA coach is right now and theyll say larry brown.

good comparison with jermaine o'neal, that guy was garbage his first couple of seasons, yet there are other high school guys who remained garbage and never played in the NBA again.Who here thinks maybe detroit should trade darko just so he can get a fresh start somewhere else, worked for jermaine....

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Feb-13-2005 00:53:

Darko's name has been mentioned in alot of trade talks....i wouldn't doubt it if he ends up in atlanta or on a running team like the suns or sonics..i think he could be a nice role player

i predict

HEAT VS SPURS in the finals

Re: Re: refs

I just read on one of the serbian websites and it said that larry brown said that he isn't going to give darko playing time as long as he is a coach and i doubt they have anything to get for darko other then maybe a first round pick ... hes also from serbia and not croatia and he wasn't playing there that much either he was scoring couple of points a game not that big ... my guess is they took him cuz hes 18 and tall ... the reason why i say that he is waste of money even if he is from the same country is cuz of the fact that when he is put in the game when pistons are winning by 20 he doesnt try to do anything hes standing there like a lost lil boy ... last game i seen him play he had 8 min in 4th quater playing time and he absolutly didn't do anything ... for god sakes dont walk around the court and just set pics run around or go to the post and get a shot .. in 8 min i would take more shots then he did and he took one and missed it ... i don't know i just think they need to tell him to either start trying or cut his ass ... and i feel that way is cuz there is so many players out there that could play or at least try in his place ... you could use him as jermain oneal but i didn't really pay attention to how oneal played when he first came but i am sure he tried more then darko and i know you could make a fact that he doesnt need to do anything since they are winning by 20 but you get better by playing real games and not practice ... practice is just to keep u in shape and keep u focused on the certain sport u play ... once you are in a real game thats where you most develope your skills and become a better player and when he gets his 8 min he should be doing that up by 20 points or down by 20 .... hehehe i'll be damned well i just seen this last game he had 7 points in 7 min ... now thats what i like to see i hope he does this everytime he gets his min a game ....

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Feb-13-2005 04:24:

it doesn't matter about offense, and how many points he would be scoring .. the only thing that matters is his defense .. we don't know what type of defense is was used to playing in serbia .. however, larry brown is probably ensuring that he will not turn into another shawn bradley, manute bol, bryant reeves, greg ostertag, or raef lafrentz .. . big guy .. talent on the floor .. no defensive mind ..

i say give darko another year in larry's system, then if larry doesn't have room in his roster, then he can be traded somewhere else that needs him .. i ensure if that happens, his defense will be awesome, and would be blocking like 3 to 3.5 shots a game, and easily getting 10+ rebounds a night at east .. if you say he was a good offensive player in croatia, then offense can come to him quickly when he needs it .. larry brown probably saw his defense skills needed to be tuned up .. he probably saw carlos arroyo dunk on him .. .. hhahahahah ...

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Feb-13-2005 04:34:

ok .. let's bring some people's minds into memory lane .. jermaine oneal back then vs darko now ..

back then, oneal was immature .. i remember that .. and was riding the third string behind rasheed wallace, dale davis, arvydas sabonis, detlef shrempf, jim jackson (playing small forward that time), scottie pippen, and brian grant .. that's talent all over there ..

now, darko is riding third string behind rasheed wallace (go figure there ..), tayshaun prince, ben wallace, elden campbell, darvin ham, antonio mcdyess .. that's talent there too ..

same goes for darko there .. he can learn a lot also from rasheed wallace and elden campbell, who have been in the league for awhile ..

first of all its serbia and not croatia 2nd of all he played 20 min per game in serbia and isn't a good defensive or offensive player at all. i watched him play over there and was suprised he was even taken 2nd pick .. only reason why is young and big .

larry brown just made a statement that said he wont play much for him at all and next game darko stepped up and played good 7 min ... i didn't see the game but i did see the game that he played 8 min last quater and why larry brown said those things about him but what the article said was that he went after every ball he played hard and didn't walk around the court like he usually does but ran so i am guessing if he can keep up working hard when he gets his minutes he can develop into a good player .. he just needs somebody to make him play better cuz he came from serbia where he was nothing and got a million or 2 and now he isnt working for it ...

true .. thank you for the corrections .. .. i remember the draft day when they displayed his stats and everything .. and i see your point about him being big and young .. if you compared his compact in the serbian league to how yao ming changed the chinese basketball league, clearly we will see yao was the better "youngster" pick rather than darko to be chosen early in the round ..

maybe he does not have any talent .. we are not sure .. all i know is that larry brown is teaching him something in detroit .. he isn't sitting on the bench like a lump on a log .. hahahah .. so i guess the real answer to what he is comes when he is traded somewhere else possibly?? because definately joe dumars (gm) will not let 'sheed, big ben, prince, or mcdyess go anywhere .. maybe he made the mistake of letting okur go, but we all cant be perfect can we ?? hahaha ...

ok enough of the darko business .. it's starting to get into a loophole .. let's talk more about a.i.'s 60 .. wow! .. clearly he proved last night that he is the single most important entity of a basketball team out of all the nba players .. if a.i. is hot, the sixers consistently win .. if not, then the sixers struggle .. he is probably the closest comparison of this generation's big superstar to michael jordan ..

i know no one can accomplish what jordan did .. but a.i. is showing that mentality jordan had .. the mentality that "when my team is down the final quarter, then i will give 100% all it takes to have my team win whatssoever .. no ifs, ands, or buts .. and if my team does lose, then the blame is on me for my bad game.."

Posted by Mattsanity on Feb-14-2005 00:43:

Iverson's truly incredible, and he's only 5'11 (HE'S NOT 6'0). I would compare Iverson to Jordan in terms of heart.

Ive been to a couple of Heat games this year but I Just came from the Heat spurs game and wow this has to be the best so far Ive seen as we beat the best team in the west its the HEATs 6th straight win a row .
Eddie Jones got injured early on , hopefully its not too bad, oh and I heard ZO was in the stands lol, he could be playing with us maybe as soon as wedsnday vs the clippers.I doubt that early though
