Don't touch a Sasha record or remix that people will identify with, xpander would be the worst thing you could play followed by anything off involver. Old sasha remixes can be OK if they're old enough and people won't go "oh fuck yeah a Sasha record". If I was opening for Sasha i'd stay on top of a groove, play anything thats got a dancy clubby feel to it, bould a groove that slightly housy so that people are dancing and not just throwing their hands in the air. This doesent mean you dont get to play big, pick a time about a half hour before sasha goes on to peak out your set. Play a couple of nice big records to get people jacked, and then bring it back down for the last half hour so that people are DYING to hear sasha by the time you get off. Trust me, Sasha will appreciate it, so will the crowd even if you don't get the "fuck guy you ruled" comments after the show. I've had the good fortune to open for some guys like Sasha but not him specifically, I even get to warm for BT soon, and all of them mention that its the right way to do it. |

I had to open for Sasha, then Sasha came and was like, making fun of me for not spinning more vinyls, as opposed to CDs...then told me to get the fuck out of here and let him play because I suck so much. Then he played this record and the lyrics were about how bad a DJ I am. |

I don't mean to be out of line asking but it would be such an honor (to me at least) to open for someone like that. congrats and thanks! |
